NRA Chickens out against Eric Holder
Sources inside the National Rifle Association tell Red State the NRA has succumbed to pressure from Democrats to not actively oppose Eric Holder. Holder has strident, well known anti-second amendment positions. Nonetheless, because the NRA likes to play nice with Democrats, they are going to roll over for B. Hussein Obama on the Holder nomination instead of fighting for, well, the second amendment — their reason for being.
Burris to get the senate seat. Harry Reid and the racist democrats cave as expected
U.S. Senate officials have approved Roland Burris to fill the Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama, sources said on Monday, in a major about-face for the Democratic leadership.
Hmm.. Maybe Burris isn’t so clean afterall?
Roland Burris will likely get his Senate seat this week, but his argument that he didn’t have many ties to Governor Rod Blagojevich looks less likely to survive. The Chicago Tribune reports today that Burris developed opposition research for Blagojevich’s re-election campaign in 2006, making him much closer to the now-impeached governor than Burris wanted to admit:
Just days after Gov. Rod Blagojevich accepted his party’s nod for re-election in 2006, a letter arrived at state Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka’s office seeking thousands of pages of documents Blagojevich could use as ammunition against her in their upcoming campaign.
The letter was signed by Roland Burris.
It was one of several requests Burris made to the treasurer’s office in 2006, a campaign practice known as opposition research in which candidates use public documents to question their opponents’ records.
Burris’ assistance for his fellow Democrat would typically draw little notice. But it comes to light as he is seeking to project his political independence from the scandal-plagued governor who appointed him to the U.S. Senate on Dec. 31.

Gitmo to close during B. Hussein Obama’s first week! (if not first day)
So much for this interview with ABC yesterday.
It’s unlikely the detention facility at the Navy base in Cuba will be closed anytime soon. In an interview last weekend, Obama said it would be “a challenge” to close it even within the first 100 days of his administration. But the order, which one adviser said could be issued as early as Jan. 20, would start the process of deciding what to do with the estimated 250 al-Qaida and Taliban suspects and potential witnesses who are being held there. Most have not been charged with a crime.
This is a direct result, no doubt, of progressive consternation at his backtracking yesterday on his promise to close Gitmo in the first 100 days.
Fast forward to Monday, Jan 12th, 2009, aka today. Fox News has mentioned that President-elect Barack Obama is preparing to issue an executive order his first week in office — and perhaps his first day — to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, according to two presidential transition team advisers.
I know a perfect place to send these terrorists, how about Chicago, IL? They’d fit in perfectly there!

Republican dead weight senator to retire on Monday. Unfortunately, he’ll still be around till 2010
Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, plans to announce Monday he is retiring from the Senate. The 72-year-old senator and former Ohio governor has been contemplating retirement for a while but made his final decision this weekend in Florida, where he was joined by his wife, children and grandchildren, according to one of the sources. Voinovich plans to serve out his term, which expires in 2010. He plans to make the announcement at 4 p.m. ET Monday in Washington, the source said.

Armed with a camera and a temporary Government Press Office card, he got a taste of reality in Sderot, visiting a house hit by a Kassam rocket two weeks ago and experiencing a “Code Red” alert first-hand. He also observed and reported from the house where a Kassam landed on Sunday afternoon.
…”Do you think this is normal, the way you cover this conflict and give away information to your enemy?” he asked the journalists that gathered around him.
“It makes me sick to see the way you behave – you guys need to be protective of your homes, your children, your family.”

Muslims want to behead Madonna!
Gotta love the radical muslims. Madonna has urgently beefed up her family’s security after being targeted by Muslim fanatics seeking revenge for Israel’s attacks on Gaza. One Palestinian terrorist chief has threatened to BEHEAD the superstar who is a dedicated member of the Jewish Kabbalah sect. Madonna is also desperately worried for the safety of her children. Someone please explain to me, especially the Palestine apologists why a washed up, liberal slime like Madonna is a target of muslims? Is she somehow involved with the Israeli Army? And man, those evil Zionist Israelis, how DARE they kill Palestinian terrorists! The muslims are such a peaceful people, I mean they don’t BEHEAD or anything like that right? In Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities around the U.S., Muslim protesters chanted “Jews to the ovens”, “Long Live Hitler”, “Slaughter the Jews”, “We will cleanse you, Palestine” and other epithets advocating genocide. It was the Zionists’s fault.
In the Sudan, 300,000 have died as Muslims attacked Christians and Animists. It was the Zionists’ fault.
In Mumbai India, a terrorist attack by Muslim extremists killed or wounded 500 people in 2008. It was the Zionists’ fault.
In London England, Muslim extremists killed 52 and wounded 700 in a series of bombings in 2005. That was the Zionists’ fault, too.
In the Philippines, Muslim groups have killed hundreds in a succession of attacks since 2004. It was the Zionists’ fault.
In Madrid Spain, Muslims killed 191 and wounded 1,755 people in a series of bombings in 2004. It was the Zionists’ fault.
In Iraq, tens of thousands have been killed and many more wounded by Muslim extremists in suicide bombings, car bombings and other attacks since the removal of Saddam Hussein from power in 2003. It was the Zionists’ fault.

Obama Bailout Mania continues!
Why stop with the porn industry? Why not toss some tax payer money towards already Government-supported NPR and PBS since they want even more of a bailout than they’ve lived off the last 40 years. According to Current.org, the two entities along with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting have petitioned Obama for $550 million in stimulus funding to help create more workers suckling on the public teat ( Steve Bartin). Surely Gwen Awful, err Ifull would be for the bailout. I wonder if thats a chapter in her upcoming Hussein Obama pimping book due out on innaug day?

Today on this morning’s ABC’s Sunday show, Hussein Obama admitted that his recklessly simplistic promise to the nutroots to shut down the detention facility had run into some barriers. Wow really now Barry? Are you sure you don’t just want to give the terrorists captured their “freedom” and let them run wild again?
President-elect Barack Obama said this weekend that he does not expect to close Guantanamo Bay in his first 100 days in office.
“I think it’s going to take some time and our legal teams are working in consultation with our national security apparatus as we speak to help design exactly what we need to do,” Obama said in an exclusive “This Week” interview with George Stephanopoulos, his first since arriving in Washington.
“It is more difficult than I think a lot of people realize,” the president-elect explained. “Part of the challenge that you have is that you have a bunch of folks that have been detained, many of whom may be very dangerous who have not been put on trial or have not gone through some adjudication. And some of the evidence against them may be tainted even though it’s true. And so how to balance creating a process that adheres to rule of law, habeas corpus, basic principles of Anglo-American legal system, by doing it in a way that doesn’t result in releasing people who are intent on blowing us up.”
Obama “turns on” Andrea Mitchell
NBC’s Andrea Mitchell appeared on the PBS show Charlie Rose on Wednesday night, and discussed what aroused her political zones. Rose clumsily asked which story “turns you on,” and naturally, Mitchell said “this young president” with a globe-traveling upbringing and his team of “meritocracy,” an “extraordinary group of very large figures,” stars who will resolve today’s crises. Mitchell decried the idea that new media would trouble the President’s first days: “I guess my passion is for something to happen to fix these problems and for dialing down of all of the sharp criticism that we have on cable talk, on talk radio, from the, you know….the blogosphere. I just wish that we could find something in the center that would be bipartisan and would be productive and constructive.”
Milwaukee to Open Nation’s First Homosexual Middle School
Milwaukee’s Alliance School, one of the few officially “gay-friendly” high schools in the country, has been given clearance to extend their pro-homosexual curriculum to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.The proposal went through easily last month, with the city’s board of education unanimously approving it by default, as it was not pulled for further discussion or a vote. Tina Owen, Lead Teacher of Alliance, said they would be accepting applications from middle-school-age children for the 2009-10 school year immediately. Marty Lexmond, the director of school innovation for Milwaukee Public Schools, told U.S. News and World Report that such an institution was needed to help adolescents, who are now increasingly publicly identifying their sexual orientation as early as middle school.Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute was dismayed that the motion went through with no discernable opposition.”I’m stunned that the religious leaders, the Christian pastors in Milwaukee, did not rise up in righteous indignation against this school,” lamented Higgins. “That is what I find perhaps equally [as] troubling, if not more so.”"I think it’s unconscionable to be affirming this in public schools,” said Higgins. “This is not an issue for public schools. And kids at 11- and 12- and 13- and 14-[years of age] are confused on many issues – sexuality [being] one of them.” Regina Griggs, executive director of the group Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX), agreed. “To affirm an 11-year-old? Please,” said Griggs. “They haven’t even gone through puberty, but they know that they want to have sex with other men and women? I’m sorry, but it’s ridiculous.”The original Alliance high school opened four years ago, also with little opposition. Other similar plans across the country, however, have not had it as easy as the Milwaukee school. In Chicago, plans for a “gay-friendly” high school were recently delayed due to concerns from both sides of the debate, as some feared that the plans amounted to segregating homosexuals. And when Manhattan’s Harvey Milk High School opened in 2003, named for an openly homosexual politician of the 1970s, students met with protesters outside the school’s doors.

The Washington Post reports that the confirmation of Eric Holder appears headed for rough waters when hearings begin on Thursday. A series of revelations since Barack Obama announced his appointment as Attorney General have Republicans looking deep into his records and Democrats acknowledging that more time is needed to research serious questions. And even the Post has begun to link Holder with Alberto Gonzales and mention “politicization”:
Hannity and Colmes final show – byebye punching bag
Poor Alan Colmes just couldn’t take being Sean Hannity’s punching bag anymore after being one since October of 1996. The final Hannity and Colmes show aired last night on Fox News with the usual, thank yous, goodbyes, etc. Now even though I can’t stand the guy, especially the way he’s being selling out Israel in recent weeks, everyone will miss his perpetually arching left eyebrow. Maybe Hussein can put Colmes in his cabinet now. Maybe he can even replace Bill Richardson!

Hit with declines in funding from the economic crisis and the Madoff scandal, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America is laying off around 20% of its staff.
Roughly 30 people were let go earlier this week, according to a source who works for the nonprofit. Executives at Planned Parenthood confirmed the layoffs, but declined to give more details.
“As with many other nonprofit organizations, Planned Parenthood has had to make staff reductions at our headquarters due to the challenging economic times facing our country,” said Maryana Iskander, chief operating officer at the agency.
…Part of Planned Parenthood’s funding declines stem from the closing of the Florida-based Picower Foundation, which shut down in December because its assets were managed by Bernard Madoff. The $1 billion foundation was one of the few major funders of reproductive rights issues.
