We’ll keep our freedom, you keep the change Obama! Over 500 protest B. Hussein Obama and the Democrat’s Porkulus Bill in Arizona

With talk radio powerhouse KFYI leading the way, more than 500 protesters showed up to protest President Obama’s spending binges.

David Crause, 70, Phoenix, held up a sign scrawled with writing that was too difficult to make out quickly. But he left no doubt where he stood as he criticized Obama’s stimulus plan.

“We can’t borrow and spend our way out of a crisis that that got us into,” Crause said.”Free markets work.”Crause said he wasn’t there to see Obama, but to register a protest, saying, “I can see him on TV, and I can shut it off.”

Jack Clark, 50, Gilbert, held a sign taller than he is that protested the stimulus. It read: “Personal Responsibility: RIP 2009.”

Wearing a T-shirt with a picture of the late President Ronald Reagan that said “Right,” Clark said he wanted to give the president a piece of his mind.

“I’m somewhat disgusted by the reaction of the country,” he said of economic stimulus efforts. “A lot of what’s happening here is people being irresponsible.”

As an enlightened progressive independent, it truly disheartens me to see so many people root for the failure of America and President Obama. After 8 years of misguided Republican policies that helped to drive our economy and culture into the gutter, I would think some of you people would be grateful to finally have an intelligent, thoughtful and articulate person back in the White House. I think it’s about time that some of you cmisguided conservatives reexamine your conscience, rethink your acts of cowardice and treason, and get behind our president. Otherwise move to Kansas, keep quite and wait for the Rapture to come take you away from your misery.

Dear misguided peter,
We Patriotic Conservatives have no desire for the Country to fail, your lies will not fool us. We, the middle of the country with common sense, understand that Obama’s policies will cause the economy and the country to become worse. We understand that you cannot be nice to terrorists and talk to them and sing kumbya with them, they will only think you are weak for this. Therefore, we want Obama’s policies to fail, so that the country can be safe and succeed. The cowards are all on the left, they are afraid to confront our enemies and call them what they are (murderers and terrorists), they are afraid to accept responsibility for they’re own misdeeds (not paying taxes gets you a Cabinet post), they -with this new bill, want us responsible citizens to bail out the irresponsible citizens (and in some cases, illegal aliens). Oh, and if you ever show up in my state and are not afraid to show your face, I’ll bust it for ya, and teach ya some perspective….have a nice day

Well, for someone “enlightened”, I bet a trillion dollars that you are holding out your hand for Obama to give you something that you are not entitled to. If Obama was intelligent, thoughtful (who cares about articulate Hitler was too) then he would see that his spending programs is going to rush this country into poverty and socialism. I think you progressive independents needs to reevaluate your values and conscience and realize what made this country great was men and women who wanted to better themselves and took it upon themselves to do something about their station rather than let a government give them hand outs.

How sad. I think this thread sums up the real problem with our country today. The people are bickering over who is right and wrong instead of coming together to find common ground. Which is what our founding Fathers did. They were a very diverse group of people with different opinions and backgrounds. But they came together to find a common ground.

As a Libertarian I am in the middle on many issues. Yes, it’s true that Obama is going to take from the rich and give to the poor. Yes, it’s true that Bush was all about cowboy politics. But really what is all of this chatter…just complaining.

George Washington warned us that the party system would be our downfall. Turns out he was right…it divides people.

We are all Americans. And whether or not you like our president is OK. The beauty is that we just witnessed another peaceful transition of power.

What I find enlightening about the ‘progressive’ movement is their penchant to label, name call, & divide individuals into their self titled classifications.

And Peter, much of the deregulation occurred under the enlightened leadership of the Clinton administration.

It has become apparent that the US has created a bunch of whinney, mooching & lazy people, all created by the Government. Our forefathers gave us rights bound by the Constitution. However we have liberals who thinks that everyone should have the same without putting fourth the same efforts as those who work for it. Nice how the Dirty Politicians decide that workers who go to work everyday and support their families are now degraded for doing so and now the sloth of society must now be rewarded from our efforts.When does it stop? Those same liberal politicians who decide to spread our wealth on those who do not deserve are the ones who refuse to give their salaries up or donate millions from their wealth but take from the little people. It’s about time we stand up for our liberties!

We need to give the President our support, the last administration and the war have crippled us, the need for the spending bills are needed to get the economy going again. The lies and propogander spread by hate radio and tabloid radio do more to delay our recovery. I for one being a former republican am very pleased with President Obama’s performance and dissapointed that his critics here in the United States do not see what the European countrie see, Jeff Beaumont
