The New American Tea Party – a coalition of citizens and organizations concerned about the recent trend of fiscal recklessness in government…dedicated to the Washington, D.C. effort specifically sponsored by the American Spectator, the Heartland Institute, Americans for Tax Reform, the National Taxpayers Union, Americans for Prosperity, and the Young Conservatives Coalition

Tons of groups and individuals are stepping up to the plate in the wake of last week’s anti-stimulus/anti-entitlement protests and the call for a nationwide Tea Party.

PJTV’s clearinghouse for protests is here.

The New American Tea Party page from “a coalition of citizens and organizations concerned about the recent trend of fiscal recklessness in government…dedicated to the Washington, D.C. effort specifically sponsored by the American Spectator, the Heartland Institute, Americans for Tax Reform, the National Taxpayers Union, Americans for Prosperity, and the Young Conservatives Coalition” is here.

The #TCOT folks have a site here and #dontgo has a list of links to official Facebook Event (and some non-Facebook) pages for each confirmed Chicago Tea Party.

Glenn Reynolds has good round-ups of the Overland Park, KS protest over the weekend organized by mm.com commenter Huskergirl Amanda Grosserode (congrats on a fabulous turnout!) and here’s some advice from a media producer. Yes, it’s good to be prepared — but I would caution against taking too much advice from the “professionals.” It’s the grass-roots nature of these events that make them so compelling. Too much “professional” advice will turn them into…mealy-mouthed GOP Beltway press conferences.

From reader George S., this is my favorite Overland Park KS protest pic:

And my second fave:

Good blog report from Kansas Meadowlark here.

And more after-action reports and pics from talk show host Darla Jaye.

A nice pic of Amanda:

There will be another protest in Kansas City, Mo. next Saturday 2/28 with a march to Sen. Claire McCaskill’s office.

If you can’t find an event listed at one of the many sites above, start your own.

One person can make a difference.

Please schedule a tea party protest in Buffalo, New York. I know you have one scheduled in Rochester, which is about 1-1/2 hours from Buffalo, but Buffalo would be a good city to have a protest.
    Thank you.

thank you, thank you for looking out for us; normal everyday americans who have no voice in nancy pelosi’s and obama’s government . if we protest we are called “racist” or “right wingers”. I am neither. I am just a mother, who has, together with my husband, raised two normal joung men. given them the best education we could afford and taught them to be trustworthy, work hard and above everything else be honest and respect others. Now all that is not fashionable. Now my children are going to work the rest of their lives for the Obama govt.to pay for his great stimulus and live in a true socialist country. May God bless us all.

I am fighting mad over our politicians giving themselves raises. I’m sick of these so called leaders, leading us straight into Socialism. I demand that “We the People” get with it and over take a government who has bent us over, with us grabbing our ankles for years. I’m over, paying for a group of people that pass what they want to and force it on a public that absolutely just takes it up the arse! Talking doesn’t do it, action does! Any child knows that. I’m fed up and I don’t want to pay taxes anymore by the way. At least not at the expense that we pay. I’m sick of making people rich and putting them in a position of power, when I’m the one who should be in power. It’s my and your damn money. I’ll lead the pack! I don’t take to kindly to being the damn victim of so many vampires. It’s not wake up America, we’re passed all that, it’s do something, show me you have as big of balls as I do.
