Gambling bad! High speed train for Los Angeles to Las Vegas in porulus is the change we need though!
President B. Hussein Obama was so quick to lambaste businesses that use taxpayer money to visit Las Vegas.
A Hill staffer points out this morning that Reid and Obama are pushing for an $8 billion earmark in the conference report (shhh! there are no earmarks, remember?) to “construct high-speed rail lines, quadrupling the amount in the bill that passed the Senate on Tuesday. Reid’s office issued a statement noting that a proposed Los Angeles-to-Las Vegas rail might get a big chunk of the money.”
The Hill staffer notes that Reid earmarked $45 million last year for the public magnetic levitation train project — which is in competition with a completely privately funded rail project being built along a similar route.
No wonder they won’t let us see the bill before they rush to cram it down our throats. Harry Reid has to get gamblers from Mexifornia rushing to Las Vegas to save the dieing tourist/gambing industry there! PURE GENIUS!
Nancy Pelosi’s 7 most delusional words EVER (yes, even for her)
Hill folks have just disseminated Nancy Pelosi’s “fact sheet” on the porkulus conference report.
Michelle Malkin uploaded the whole thing here.
The seven most self-delusional words in the document? Page 6:
“There are no earmarks or pet projects.”
Guess what? Another democrats cries that we need that “Fairness Doctorine”. This time its Tom Harkin or Iowa!
Debbie Stabenow may now be backing away from the Fairness Doctrine, but another progressive Senator has taken her place. Tom Harkin (D-IA) tells Bill Press that he wants the federal government to open markets for the liberal talker that Press can’t get on his own:
But on the brighter side, Jeff Sessions tells Mark Levin: “Darned right we’ll filibuster the Fairness Doctrine”. WELL DUH! You’d better!
$28,130 could be yours
If the marxist dirtbags are right! Just kidding.
Great anti-bailout website: Do The Right Thing.
They’re running a contest:
$28,130 could be yours
You are probably as upset about the bailouts as we are. Well, Washington isn’t listening, so let’s turn up the volume. Come up with an idea, grab a camera, and send us your best 30-second video opposing government bailouts.
Be creative. Make us laugh. Teach us. Above all, make us oppose the bailouts. We will begin accepting submissions on February 23rd. The person or team that submits the “best video” will win $28,130 – one person’s personal bailout burden.
Check back for submissions requirements, rules, regulations, and full details on Thursday, February 12th.
Uh oh. Problems in Nancy Pelosi’s House? House Democrats balking on Porkulus?
What if you threw a Porkulus meeting and no one came? Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer just found out:
But after the announcement, a joint conference committee meeting scheduled for 3 p.m. was postponed after House Democrats did not show up.
Senators said they still expected an agreement later Wednesday, and it was unclear that the agreement had run into difficulties. Senate staff members said the delay was merely to allow House members who had been expected to oppose some aspects of the Senate bill to express their feelings privately.
According to Senators Ben Nelson, D-Neb., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, key moderates who helped craft the agreement, the new bill includes $54 billion for education, less than $79 billion House members had wanted and more than the $39 billion senators approved.
The new bill has no money for school construction, increases to $90 billion the amount of money that would be sent to states to help pay Medicaid costs, and also increases to $49.6 billion the amount of money that would be devoted to infrastructure projects.
Censorship in Chief – An Iowa State trooper investigated for forwarding an e-mails showing mug shots of people wearing Obama t-shirts!
Imagine if you will, during the last 8 years, if a state trooper, or anyone e-mailed mug shots of people wearing dubya shirts mocking George Bush and Republicans on his own time and on his own computer. Do you think the ACLU would care, or get involved in getting that person suspended for 30 days? Welcome to life in the B. Hussein Obama administration:
An Iowa State trooper who was investigated after it was shown that he forwarded an e-mail showing mug shots of people wearing Obama t-shirts has been suspended for 30 days.
Sgt. Rodney Hicok was at home and off-duty when he forwarded the e-mails, said an official with the Iowa Department of Public Safety Bureau and Professional Standards.
The e-mail made disparaging remarks about 15 people in the photos and referred to Obama as having “quite a fan base.”
Hicok was not making a racial statement, the official said, but, rather, a political statement.
In a statement, Hicok said, “I am deeply sorry for my actions … I apologize to anyone this e-mail may have offended, as well as my family, citizens in my community and Iowa taxpayers.”
Hicok ended his statement by saying he guaranteed “nothing like this will ever happen again.”

More info on Henrietta Hughes – the same Henrietta Hughes who begged and got a free house from Obama in Fort Myers
Before making a nationwide media splash with her savior President Barack Obama at the Ft. Myers revival rally, Henrietta Hughes had garnered public attention before. In 2004, she was living with her unemployed son in Rochester, NY. Good-hearted private citizens offered them help then, too, to supplement the government checks:

Doctors and other medical staff volunteer time to treat patients
BY STAFF WRITER
CYNTHIA BENJAMINCorey Hughes ‘ thyroid gland was bothering him – again. He needed medical attention, but had no money to get it. Hughes , 33, a computer programmer who lives in Rochester, has no steady job, no health insurance, no doctor.
So, when Dr. Carolyn Mok examined him June 2 at Mercy Outreach Center on Webster Avenue, not only did Hughes get necessary treatment for his thyroid condition, he also took comfort in something else: the service was free.
Mok, 51, a medical doctor who has a practice at 175 Lyell Ave., is among hundreds of medical professionals in Monroe County – no exact number is available – who give their expertise, pro bono, to people such as Hughes – people whom physicians commonly call the underserved, the working poor, the uninsured.
In all, medical professionals – physicians, dentists, radiologists, nurses and others – devote thousands of volunteer hours each year, treating people in need, charging nothing because the patients have little or nothing to pay.
In their volunteer work, medical professionals treat everything from toothaches to heart disease.
Some volunteer on the staffs at places that serve people in need, such as St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center, 417 South Ave., run by Sister Christine Wagner of the Sisters of St. Joseph.Others see patients in their offices at no cost or at a reduced fee.
Art Streeter of the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency says about one in 10 people in Monroe County does not have medical insurance, so volunteer medical professionals are vital.
“Most of the physicians look at this (volunteering) as part of what being a physician is,’’ says Nancy Adams, executive director of the Monroe County Medical Society, a group of more than 1,700 doctors from Monroe and six other counties.
“In the old days, it was just common practice (for physicians) to give back. That philosophy didn’t just go away because there are programs available to patients,’’ such as Medicaid and Family Health Plus insurance plans, Adams said.
Making ends meet
Hughes , who has not had a steady job for two years, recently took on temporary work for Superior Staffing Services, 26 Corporate Woods.
It’s tough, says the Monroe Community College graduate.
“I can’t even get a job at Wendy’s (after applying more than once),’’ he says, but “I feel good. I’m thankful to God.’’
Though Hughes wouldn’t reveal his salary, he says he doesn’t earn enough money in his temporary job to pay a doctor.
He helps take care of his mother, a breast cancer survivor who says even with Medicaid, she hasn’t seen a doctor in more than a year because she can’t afford to pay any percentage not covered by her insurance plan. Having Medicaid disqualifies her from pro bono services.
Yet she was thankful that Mok examined her son, who otherwise would not have received treatment.
“There isn’t many doctors that will see you if you don’t have insurance,’’ says Henrietta Hughes , 56. “There’s doctors, just out of the compassion and goodness of his heart, that will give his service or her service, and I’m very grateful to God.’’CORRECTION Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (NY) – Wednesday, June 16, 2004 Author: DC, Cynthia Benjamin, Staff
Henrietta Hughes , 56, of Rochester has Medicare insurance. A story on Page 1F in the Our Towns section Wednesday described her health coverage inaccurately.
Why am I and others complaining about Henrietta? Because the White House and the press are holding up this woman and her son as symbols of how the economic downturn has rendered people homeless and jobless. Mrs. Hughes and her son have been jobless and receiving government assistance since at least 2004.
Yes, there is now a Henrietta Hughes website.
Via Dan Riehl, some more information:
Corey Hughes, who left his job in New York in early 2008, said he had been trying to take care of his mom. Both have searched for jobs and have come up empty, as have so many other Southwest Floridians. Henrietta said the family came here due to the expensive living costs in New York.
“So, I borrowed quite a bit of money to come down to Florida,” she explained.
Happy birthday, Governor Palin – how will the media bring you down?
What a year. Best wishes to Sarah Palin, who celebrate the big 4-5 today.
Keep driving the nutroots crazy.
Happy birthday and cheers.
Julio Osegueda – from burger flipper to new job thanks to B. Hussein Obama!
Oh Gracious! Julio Osegueda, B. Hussein Obama is to gift that keeps on giving if you are some minority who wants something for nothing! Welcome to socialism in 21st century America. Yestersday it was Henrietta Hughes who stood up to decry the mortgage crisis and ask Obama for his personal help. Choking back tears, she implored: “I have an urgent need…We need a home, our own kitchen, our own bathroom.” who ended up being told “to talk to Obama’s staff” after the townhall. And what happens? BAM! She gets a free house. Then where was the screaming burger flipper Julio Osequeda complaining about “benefits” from flipping burgers at McDonalds. And so what happens? Today he gets a new job too!
The savior-based economy comes through again. Obama cult worshiper Julio — the McDonald’s worker in Ft. Myers who complained about his benefits yesterday at the president’s revival meeting — has a new gig.
“I have never felt this good except maybe when I got my Playstation3 for Christmas.”
Then came his interviews with CNN, other networks and local TV stations.“I couldn’t believe it,” his mother, Sarah, said. “He worked really hard at that. He is like that, he doesn’t plan, he just does it.”
He also picked up another job — if just for a day — as the color announcer for the Fort Myers Miracle baseball team’s radio broadcast for its home opener April 10. The one-day gig typically pays $25, but the Miracle said the salary is negotiable.
“I’ll be ready,” he said about his debut.
After all, Osegueda is studying to be a broadcaster or disc jockey.
Generic Congressional Ballot – Democrat support at the lowest level of support in tracking history
Are Republicans winning the public relations battle over spending in the $800-billion-plus economic stimulus package? Democrats and Republicans are nearly even in this week’s edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone surveys found that the Democrats’ lead is down to just one percentage point. Forty percent (40%) of voters said they would vote for their district’s Democratic candidate while 39% said they would choose the Republican (see crosstabs). This marks the lowest level of support for the Democrats in tracking history and is the closest the two parties have been on the generic ballot. Only four percent (4%) said they would vote for a candidate from another political party. With reps like Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Jack Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and others, this should come as no surprise.
Good news for Arab oil countries! Obama shelves Bush plan to open more coastal waters to drilling – gas prices continue to rise
Even with the price per barrel of oil dropping to $38 per barrel, gas prices continue to rise. Arab counties, and Venezuela must be giddy to learn that on Tuesday, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar ordered the plan be put on hold while his agency conducts a 180-day review of the country’s offshore oil and gas resources. Salazar’s critical comments about the plan signaled that the new administration will seek to rewrite it if not completely scrap it.
Lets see what those wonderful democrats have done over the last 30 years to help us “break our addiction to foreign oil”:
Over the past 30 years:
Democrats have blocked the development of new sources of petroleum.
Democrats have blocked drilling in ANWR.
Democrats have blocked drilling off the coast of Florida.
Democrats have blocked drilling off of the east coast.
Democrats have blocked drilling off of the west coast.
Democrats have blocked drilling off the Alaskan coast.
Democrats have blocked building oil refineries.
Democrats have blocked clean nuclear energy production.
Democrats have blocked clean coal production.
Already this year democrats scrapped oil and gas leases in Utah and opened the 111th Congress by introducing a bill to permanently prohibit drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
Prairie Pundit adds this:
They knew Republicans were getting voters attention on the issue so they pretended to agree to get themselves through November. Obama did give some hints when he only committed to “look” at offshore production. I guess he has had his look.
Oh, and windmills are a carbon-saving scam.
Exposing B. Hussein Obama’s “no pork” claim
B. Hussein Obama continues to go on and on about how the Obama/Pelosi porkulus bill contain no pork or earmarks (yea right). But even those in the media who have licked his every body part for basically the last 2 years such as the Associated Press calls shenanigans on this claim:
THE FACTS: There are no “earmarks,” as they are usually defined, inserted by lawmakers in the bill. Still, some of the projects bear the prime characteristics of pork – tailored to benefit specific interests or to have thinly disguised links to local projects.
For example, the latest version contains $2 billion for a clean-coal power plant with specifications matching one in Mattoon, Ill., $10 million for urban canals, $2 billion for manufacturing advanced batteries for hybrid cars, and $255 million for a polar icebreaker and other “priority procurements” by the Coast Guard.
And how did Obama sell this to the good folks in Elkhart? By using the same, old, tired pork-barrel pledges he supposedly rejected:
Obama told his Elkhart audience that Indiana will benefit from work on “roads like U.S. 31 here in Indiana that Hoosiers count on.” He added: “And I know that a new overpass downtown would make a big difference for businesses and families right here in Elkhart.”
Tax cheat Tim Geithner a laughingstock – stock market drops nearly 400 points as he speaks
So this is the Tim Geithner, that despite being a tax cheat (typical democrat), HAD to be confirmed or else this country’s economy would die. This is the same tax cheat Tim Geithner that was the “genius”, the man with the plan to fix all the things wrong in the ailing economy. Apparently, this tax cheat Tim Geithner may be as dumb and useless, if not more so than Hank Paulson. The stock market, as he spoke today, with no clear cut plan on what to do, continued to drop and drop and drop, at one point dropping nearly 410 points, and ending the day dropping almost 382 points.
Administration officials were greeted with sarcasm and laughter Monday night when they briefed lawmakers and congressional staff on Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s new financial-sector bailout project, according to people who were in the room.
The laughter was at its height when Obama officials explained that the White House planned to guarantee a wide swath of toxic assets — which they referred to as “legacy assets” — but wouldn’t be asking Congress for money. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA), a bailout opponent in the fall, asked the officials to give Congress the total dollar figure for which they were on the hook. The officials said that they couldn’t provide a number, a response met by chuckling that was bipartisan, but tilted toward the GOP side.
First black designers, now black reporters pissed at B. Hussein Obama
You know its racist if you dont love B. Hussein Obama right? At least if you white its racist. What is the term when black people don’t like Hussein?
Via Joseph Curl at the WashTimes:
After the first black president completed his first prime-time press conference, the black press was red hot.
“We were window dressing,” said Hazel Edney, a reporter with the National Newspaper Publishers Association, also known as the Black Press of America. “We were nothing more than window dressing.”
As the media filed into the stately White House East Room on Monday night, the reporter was shocked to find herself in the front row. Alongside her were the top news agencies, Associated Press, Reuters; also up front, 86-year-old Helen Thomas, who started covering presidents 50 years ago.
Alongside the most prominent journalists in America was Tiffany Cross from Black Entertainment Television. Like Miss Edney, she didn’t know why she was in first-class while all the television networks – every single one – was exiled to the steerage compartment.
“I really don’t know why I’m up here,” Miss Cross said with a shy smile.
While most on the front row got to pose a question to President Obama, the two reporters from the black press did not. Nor did any other black-press reporter, for that matter.
“This was like Reagan, when he’d put all the blacks up front,” said another prominent but visibly peeved black-press reporter who asked to remain anonymous. “He oughta’ be ashamed.”
Wow Americans! You really don’t give a sh.. about all the pork and useless spending in the porkulus bill! So says (D) Chuck Schumer of New York!
Is this true America what Chuck Schumer said about you today? Does he speak on behalf of everybody? Republicans, Democrats, and Independents? If what Schumer said is true that Americans dont care about the pork in the “stimulus” bill, then maybe Americans really are as stupid as the Europeans claim them to be, or maybe America is just morphing into Venezuela before our very eyes. The Senate is about to passed the Turbaconducken stimulus package. Sen. Schumer took to the floor about 20 minutes ago to fear-monger. He referred shamelessly to the “economic 9/11″ and wagged his bony finger at Republican dissenters.“You lost,” Sen. Schumer sneered. Besides, he taunted, the “American people really don’t care” about all those “little tiny, yes, porky amendments” that the “chattering classes” have exposed:
As far as I’m concerned, I wouldn’t care if you dropped dead today Schumer you filthy POS.
BTW, one of the turncoats, Arlen Spectre today on Fox mentions to Megyn Kelly that the porkulus needed more time for hearings. Uh, so why exactly did you vote yes for this porkulus bill? Why didn’t Arlen Specter demand hearings? At the very least, he could have forced more debate by opposing the cloture vote yesterday. I’m sorry people, this country is screwed. NO ONE on Capital Hill knows WTF they are doing. NO ONE, no matter what party affilation.
If you aren’t one who agrees with Schmucky Schumer, He needs to hear from you.
He needs to hear from you.
Tell Chuck Schumer you care.

Hello from the finally thawed out Lexington, KY!
I just wanted to pass along to you that one of our local radio hosts, Leland Conway, has asked everyone to bring bags of pork rinds to the radio station so that they can be mailed to Sen. Shumer’s office along with a note explaining that at least some Americans do care about pork. Perhaps this is something that could be considered on an even larger scale across the country.
You can order pork rinds here.
Oh Gracious God “Julio Osegueda” creams his pants and Henrietta Hughes gets to talk to Hussein Obama’s “Staff” after begging for housing!?
Creepy has become the norm with the B. Hussein Obama cult around the nation, from the dazed media, the thrills up legs, to “reporters” getting excited about Obama’s chest, to NY Times writers dreaming about having sex with Obama. Today in Ft. Myers, Florida, we saw the cult mentality on display yet again. First there was “Julio Osegueda“, burger flipper of 4 years from McDonalds who wants “better benefits”. When Julio Osegueda was called on by Hussein, he had this to say:
Then there was Henrietta Hughes. said she was unemployed and homeless, and living with her family in a very small vehicle. “The Housing Authority has two years waiting list. We need something more than a vehicle and parks to go to. We need our own kitchen and our own bathroom.” She pleaded, “Please help.”
President Obama walked over to her, and said, “We’re going to do everything we can to help you. I’ll have my staff talk to you after the town hall.”
Why is Hussein Obama’s “staff” going to talk to her after the town hall? Is she somehow going to get some special treatment because she’s black? Is this the HOPE and change we need? Oh BTW, the stock market today dropped over 380 points today. But lets make sure and help this homeless black lady who afterwards proclaimed: “I LOVE YOU BARACK!”
Update 2pm PST: Guess what folks? She GOT A HOUSE! Your tax dollars at work! The changes we need! Beg, and ye shall receive!
Theres no earmarks in the “stimulus”. Oh wait, Democrat David Obey’s son lobbied for porkulus earmark! LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE B. Hussein Obama!
Michelle Malkin received an interesting press release and documents from Republicans on the House Oversight Committee about the porkulus earmark for park spending. Guess we could call it the parkulus provision. Business as usual:
WASHINGTON. D.C. – A report by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Minority Staff contradicts assertions by the House Appropriations Committee that National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) lobbyist Craig Obey does not lobby the House Committee chaired by his father, Rep. David Obey. The House Appropriations Committee approved a $2 billion earmark for the National Parks Service lobbied for by Craig Obey and the NPCA.
“The success of NPCA and Craig Obey in doubling the National Park Service’s annual appropriation through the economic recovery legislation raises the question of whether family ties played a role,” according to the report. “The seriousness of this potential conflict should have been disclosed to all Members before the vote took place.”
The earmark for the National Parks Service, included by the House Appropriations Committee in H.R. 1, is more than twice the amount proposed by the U.S. Senate and would effectively double the budget for the National Parks Service without explaining how such a funding increase will be absorbed without creating abuse, waste, and misuse of funds.
The staff report points to lobbying disclosure documents indicating that Craig Obey does lobby on Appropriations as well as the National Park Conversation Association’s stimulus proposal for the Appropriations Committee which identifies Craig Obey as the primary point of contact.
“Two years ago, you pledged to ‘drain the swamp’ in the House of Representatives and create the most ethical Congress in history,” Oversight and Government Reform Committee Ranking Member Darrell Issa wrote in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. “The secret lobbying of the Appropriations Committee by special interest groups and false denials by the Committee itself is yet another example showing that your ethics reform proposals have done little to create a culture of ethical conduct.”
Issa requested that the House accede to the Senate’s lower proposal for the National Park Service which would save taxpayers over $1 billion.
The report and documents are here.
Doh! B. Hussein Obama hits his head boarding Marine One
Too bad it didn’t knock any sense into to marxist dirtbag. Lets imagine for a second if this had happened to Dubya? This would be front page news on every major outlet, and the lead story on every MSM TV station. Since however, it was the marxist Messiah Obama, there is barely a whisper of this anywhere. Still though, brings back memories of Gerald Ford (who was 100x the president that Hussein Obama is):
Porkulus roll call – the voting numbers
Here it is, for posterity. You may notice no vote by Sen. Cornyn? Why? Apparently Sen. Cornyn was out of town for a prior commitment, but his position is clear – he opposes the stimulus and will vote against final passage.
B. Hussein Obama’s fear mongering press conference: What do you think of A-Rod’s steroid use?
The pansy media again gave B. Hussein Obama a free pass tonight during his press conference. Softball questions about the porkulus, not one question about why he allowed Nancy Pelosi to load it up with pork. The press conference was an hour long, was as boring as John McCain’s RNC acceptance speech. However, one of the more passionate questions possed to Hussein Obama was about “what he thought about Arod’s steroid use”? Uh, excuse me? First of all, Hussein Obama keeps drumming up fear about being in the worst economy since the Great Depression which is a crock of shit. There are two wars being fought overseas. And a reporter lobs Obama a question to Obama (who himself is an admitted cocaine snorter), what he thought about some overpaid athelete using performance enchancing drugs? Gimme a god damn break already. If you missed the Obama press conference tonight, you can read the entire transcript here.
Legal Insurrection breaks down more of the Obamedia’s embarrassing performance:
Barack Obama held his first press conference as President tonight. With the “stimulus” plans on the table at the House and Senate, the press had an opportunity to show that it no longer was slobbering over Obama. The press failed. Not a single reporter challenged Obama on the specifics of the stimulus plans, which (contrary to Obama’s statements) are loaded with pork barrel spending (as Sen. Claire McCaskill admitted this weekend) and surreptitious attempts to restructure the health care system. Almost every stimulus-related question accepted at face value Obama’s assertion that Republicans were to blame both for the economic mess and the lack of bipartisanship.
The best question came at the beginning, from Jennifer Loven of the Associated Press:
Question: Thank you, Mr. President. Earlier today in Indiana, you said something striking. You said that this nation could end up in a crisis without action that we would be unable to reverse. Can you talk about what you know or what you’re hearing that would lead you to say that our recession might be permanent when others in our history have not? And do you think that you risk losing some credibility or even talking down the economy by using dire language like that?
It was straight down hill after that. Chip Reid of CBS sounded like he wanted a job in the administration, his question — if you can call it that — was so fawning and so played into Obama’s theme of the night, that the Republicans were to blame:
Question: Thank you, Mr. President. You have often said that bipartisanship is extraordinarily important, overall and in this stimulus package, but now, when we ask your advisers about the lack of bipartisanship so far — zero votes in the House, three in the Senate — they say, “Well, it’s not the number of votes that matters; it’s the number of jobs that will be created.” Is that a sign that you are moving away — your White House is moving away from this emphasis on bipartisanship? And what went wrong? Did you underestimate how hard it would be to change the way Washington works?
