That muslim faith coming home to roost: Obama approves aerospace system for Syria
The Commerce Department has not confirmed the approval. Boeing, however, acknowledged that Commerce approved an export license for Syria on Feb. 2.
The sources said the approval by Commerce marked a departure from nearly five years of sanctions by the outgoing Bush administration. Under the Syrian Accountability Act, Syria was to be denied all but food and humanitarian supplies from the United States. Bush aides said Syria had used passenger jets to ferry weapons from Iran to Hizbullah in Lebanon.
The Brits submit to Islam – British libraries to put Koran on top shelf
In case you were worried that that de facto fatwa they imposed by banishing Geert Wilders is part of a trend, the answer is yes.
So officials have responded with guidance, backed by ministers, that all holy books should be treated equally and go on the top shelf together…
The report said the city’s librarians consulted the Federation of Muslim Organisations and were advised that all religious texts should be kept on the top shelf.
‘This meant that no offence is caused, as the scriptures of all the major faiths are given respect in this way, but none is higher than any other,’ the guidance added…
Inayat Bunglawala, of the Engage think tank, which encourages Muslims to play a greater role in public life, said: ‘If Muslims wish to see the Koran placed on a higher shelf, and library rules say it should be there, then that is a welcome and considerate gesture.
‘But one size does not fit all. If Christians do not want to see the Bible treated in the same way, I do not see why it has to be dealt with the same.’
Sound familiar? Borders caved on exactly this point a few years ago, reserving pride of place for the Koran on the top shelf of their stores lest they get a taste of what Wilders has to live with every day from his Islamic “critics.” It’s a cowardly policy but somewhat understandable in the case of a private corporation; in the case of a state with armies at its disposal, not so much. Bizarrely, the main objection from Christians interviewed for the story isn’t that the Koran’s getting special treatment, it’s that sticking the Bible way up top will make it less accessible to library-goers looking for a copy. Hey, guys? Focus. Exit question: Can you think of anyone with a media megaphone who might take noisy exception to British libraries putting sacred texts above “commonplace things” like Darwin and Newton? Speak up, man.
Another day out of the White House for Hussein Obama. Off to Mesa, AZ on Tuesday. Porkulus Protestors await the “Messiah”
Ummm. Isn’t the President supposed to be in the White House “running the country”? After his 3 day little “trip” to Chicago, and in Denver, CO to sign the Porkulus bill with his *10* pens, it seems ole Hussein Obama is taking another trip. This time off to Mesa, AZ.

First, Seattle.
Then Denver.
Next stop: Mesa, Arizona.
President Obama will be there tomorrow to push his massive mortgage entitlement expansion.
The opposition will not be silenced.
KFYI is taking the lead. Go here for all the details.
I’d kick in for another round of pulled pork for the protesters, but Obama just mortgaged my kids’ future. Need to save.
Fact: Every Democrat elected governor of Illinois since 1960 has either gone to jail or been impeached
Former Chicago Alderman Arenda Troutman today was sentenced four years in prison for fraud, becoming the 28th Chicago Alderman since 1972 to be measured for pinstripes.
Yawn.
The Chicago Tribune’s Jeff Coen reports:
If the number of convicted and jailed Chicago alderman since 1972 was extrapolated to the US House, it would be as if over 240 congressman had gone to jail in the same period, or about 6 to 7 every year for 37 years.
Since 1960, three of the last seven elected Illinois governors have gone to jail; the fourth, Rod Blagojevich, was impeached this year.
Every Democrat elected governor of Illinois since 1960 has either gone to jail or been impeached.
Former Border Patrol Agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos FINALLY released From Federal Prison
KFOX TV was the first to report earlier this morning that former border patrol agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos were released from federal prison. Ramos, who has spent the last two years in the Phoenix Federal Prison, accompanied his wife and attorney through Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix. Ramos was released from the prison around 8 a.m. The two agents, who worked out of the El Paso Border Patrol Sector, have been in prison since January 2007. They were found guilty in federal count on numerous charges and each received a minimum of 10 years in prison for shooting an unarmed drug smuggler, then trying to cover it up. On former President George W. Bush’s last day in office, last month, he commuted the sentences for the two former agents. Former agent Jose Compean was released from the federal prison in Ohio around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

10,000 workers in Mexifornia to be laid off.
Let the recriminations begin. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger says that he will lay off 10,000 workers starting today and end the few remaining public-works projects still in progress as the California legislature failed to reach an agreement to hike taxes by over $14 billion in order to close a massive hole in state finances. Republicans refused to go along:
With lawmakers still unable to deliver a budget after three days of intense negotiations, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger prepared to lay off 10,000 government workers and his administration said it would halt the last 275 state-funded public works projects still in operation.
The projects, which cost $3.8 billion and include upgrades to 18 bridges and roads in Los Angeles County to protect them from collapsing in earthquakes, had been allowed to continue as others were suspended because the state was running out of cash. …
Schwarzenegger had delayed sending out pink slips since Friday, hoping that lawmakers would soon approve a budget. But they failed Monday to find a third GOP vote in the state Senate to achieve the two-thirds majority needed to pass a budget — a requirement that essentially gives the minority Republicans veto power. A spokesman for Schwarzenegger said layoff notices would go out today. …
State Sen. Abel Maldonado (R-Santa Maria) was viewed as the most likely candidate to provide the final vote, but by Monday evening legislative leaders had not agreed to his demands. The dominant Democrats need three Republican votes in each house to pass the budget; leaders in the Assembly said the votes were available in the lower house.
In the tax revolt of the 1970s, conservatives managed to amend the state constitution to require supermajorities in each chamber for tax increases. They intended to use that as a tool to force better fiscal discipline on state government — a great idea, but unfortunately ultimately ineffective. California just found other ways to raise money, usually through fee hikes. It also did nothing to control spending, as the state’s enormous $105 billion annual budget proves.
Sarah Palin tells Hussein Obama to veto bill he dragged out of Congress and slams the (censorship) Fairness Doctorine
I guess those “15″ minutes of fame aren’t up yet, huh libs? arah Palin’s advice on Porkulus will evoke laughter in the White House that pushed it through Congress, but perhaps someone there has begun listening to her on energy. Palin says Barack Obama has started coming around on the natural-gas pipeline, but may need a little more convincing on enabling increased production on the clean-burning fuel. Palin doesn’t wait for Greta to ask before getting in an argument against the Fairness Doctrine, near the end (via Conservatives for Palin):
PALIN: Hey, Greta, another thing though that I would add too is that it’s not just the stimulus package that we need to keep our eyes and ears open about right now in America. But it’s this Fairness Doctrine — it’s these attempts in Congress that are being discussed at this point to shut down voices that are asking the tough questions. … If there’s any attempt to quash any of these voices, that’s a scary thing for our country and our democracy.
The challenge to Obama to veto his own economic policy is a little silly, even though it deserves to be vetoed, burnt, pulverized, and flushed. Obama got exactly what he wanted and has no reason at all to veto it. Had he been displeased with the product, Obama would have held a much different press conference a week ago. Opposing the bill on its merits is good, but demanding a veto doesn’t do much for Palin’s credibility.
Palin does much better on the Fairness Doctrine. She put it in exactly the right terms, which the American public will understand as not “fair” at all but an attempt to silence criticism. You can also see Bristol Palin talking with Greta.
Transcript says!: Roland Burris deliberately evaded truth about Blago brother
What a perfect replacement for Hussein Obama’s senate seat. The crook and marxist pig who is now president, gives way to a cheat and liar! I guess it wouldn’t be any other way in the ‘state’ of Illinois.
Roland Burris says the reason that he never mentioned the demand for $10,000 from Rod Blagojevich’s brother Robert to the Illinois legislature is because they never asked him about it. Mark Brown at the Chicago Sun-Times begs to differ, and he has the transcript to prove it. In his testimony, Burris had plenty of opportunity to spill the beans — and instead chose to remain silent.
Rep. Jim Durkin: “Did you talk to any members of the governor’s staff or anyone closely related to the governor, including family members or any lobbyists connected with him, including, let me throw out some names — John Harris, Rob Blagojevich, Doug Scofield, Bob Greenleaf, Lon Monk, John Wyma? Did you talk to anybody . . . associated with the governor about your desire to seek the appointment prior to the governor’s arrest?”
Durkin: “I guess the point is I was trying to ask: Did you speak to anybody who was on the governor’s staff prior to the governor’s arrest or anybody, any of those individuals or anybody who is closely related to the governor?”
Rep. Jill Tracy: “You said that you had visited friends perhaps in September of ‘08 or July of ‘08 concerning a desire to perhaps be appointed as a senator if our president-elect was elected. And could you give me the names of those friends?”
Tracy: “But I think I earlier heard you today testify that in September ‘08 or perhaps as early as July ‘08, you had visited with some friends about your desire to seek the seat.”
Tracy: “And I just was wondering who those friends were.”
Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie, the committee chairman: “Is that when you talked about your interest with Lon Monk? I think that –”
Tracy: “Was it Lon Monk, was that the extent of it was Lon Monk?
Tracy: “So you don’t recall that there was anybody else besides Lon Monk that you expressed an interest to at that point?”
Tracy: “Is there anybody that comes to mind in that light that you can –”
Read Brown’s column for Burris’ responses. Not only did the panel give Burris at least nine oppportunities to name Robert Blagojevich and his $10K demand, Durkin specifically asked Burris about the impeached governor’s brother. Burris never acknowleged it, nor did he reveal the contact, even though it went directly to the heart of the pay-for-play scandal. If that’s not perjury, it’s at least obstruction of justice.
Now Illinois Democrats wonder whether they should give Burris the heave-ho:
Several Democratic lawmakers from Illinois said Monday that they were troubled by revelations about Roland W. Burris, the state’s newest senator and a fellow Democrat. And at least one called for Mr. Burris to come before the state legislature and explain himself.
“We all have a lot of questions,” State Representative Jack D. Franks said. “He wasn’t forthcoming, and that’s the bottom line. I feel betrayed. The real problem here is the question of trust for the citizens of Illinois. We were supposed to rise to the occasion and, again, Illinois becomes the laughingstock for the nation.”
Tommy Christopher notes that even Keith Olbermann threw Burris under the bus last night with the revelation about being explicitly asked about Robert Blagojevich at the hearing. Will Harry Reid take the hint?
The chattering classes are spouting off again: 38% of voters nationwide think the porkulus will help the economy. What now Schmucky Schumer?
Just those “chattering classes” spouting off again:
Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters nationwide believe the $787-billion stimulus plan passed by Congress will help the economy. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 29% believe the plan will hurt and 24% believe it will have little impact.
Middle-income Americans are more likely to believe the bill will hurt rather than help. Those with incomes below $40,000 or above $100,000 are more optimistic.
By a 49% to 24% margin, government employees believe the stimulus plan will help the economy. Private sector workers are evenly divided. Investors are less optimistic than non-investors.
Fifty percent (50%) of voters believe the bill consists primarily of new government spending while 31% believe it is primarily a mix of new spending and tax cuts. Only eight percent (8%) think the legislation consists primarily of tax cuts.
The Obama Hussein Hypocrisy. Its not so easy being “green”
From reader a Michelle Malkin reader Matthew R, who e-mails: “Obama will use as much energy in flight to CO as the museum’s solar panels can produce in 4 years.”
Thought you might find this interesting – according to the info I found on Boeing’s website and elsewhere, the 747-200 that operates as Air Force One uses anywhere from 5 to 7 gallons of fuel per mile, depending on how full it is. At roughly 1500 miles from DC to Denver, that’s at least 15,000 gallons of fuel round trip. There are 33.4 kilowatt hours of energy in a gallon of fuel, meaning this trip will use about 500,000 kilowatt hours of energy. According to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s own website, their solar installation has generated only 90,000 kilowatt hours of energy since it was installed last June!
The great Hussein Obama stock market crash. Stocks drop over 2000 points since November 4th, 2008!
On Nov. 4, after Barack Obama clinched the White House, the market closed at 9,625.28. In mid-morning trading today, the day President Obama signs his massive Generational Theft Act into law and a day before he unveils a massive new mortgage entitlement, the Dow dropped to to 7,606.53. Now, imagine if President Bush had presided over a 2,000-point stock market tumble in the same time period — during the first few months of his presidency. I guess the “hope and change” hasn’t made it to the stock market yet. Once Hussein Obama signs the porkulus today, and starts devaluing the currency and causing hyper inflation, how much more will the stockmarket drop? 6000? 5000?
Great start, O.
Just saying…
And heres how stocks ended the day:
Dow 7,552.60 (-3.79%)
Nasdaq 1,470.66 -63.70 (-4.15%)
S&P 789.17 -37.67 (-4.56%)
Evidence unearthed Obamas plan all along was to Repealed Clinton 1996 Welfare Reform
Evidence Unearthed Obamas Plan All Along Was to Repealed Clinton 96 Welfare Reform, which he just did with the Stimulus Package. Obamas original plan to repeal Clinton 96 Welfare Reform was a success Obama also reveals his views on Americas perceptions of Race and the Poor. Buried deep in the stimulus plan is the repeal of Clintons 96 Welfare Reform. Watch the Hussein Obama video from 1998:
Turncoat Arlen Spectre now paying the price for voting for the porkulus!
Just 31percent of Keystone State voters say are more likely to vote for Specter because of his position on the stimulus package while 40 percent are less likely to do so.
A look inside the numbers shows the problem for Specter may be even more significant. Fifty-eight percent of Republican voters in the state are less likely to vote for Specter. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, just 27 percent are more likely to support the long-time incumbent while 48% are less likely to do so.
These numbers are not surprising given the partisan response to the stimulus bill itself. Nationwide, support for the stimulus legislation increased following President Obama’s nationally televised press conference earlier this week. Still, the legislation is perceived as being what Democrats want rather than a bipartisan product.
In Pennsylvania, 69 percent of Republicans oppose the package while 73 percent of Democrats favor it. Those not affiliated with either major party are evenly divided. That partisan divide places Specter in a difficult position. Even though Specter has aligned himself with the president and other Democrats on the stimulus, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has announced that the Pennsylvania Republican is one of their top targets for the 2010 election cycle.
Israel launches covert war against Iran
Israel has launched a covert war against Iran as an alternative to direct military strikes against Tehran’s nuclear program, US intelligence sources have revealed. It is using hitmen, sabotage, front companies and double agents to disrupt the regime’s illicit weapons project, the experts say. The most dramatic element of the “decapitation” program is the planned assassination of top figures involved in Iran’s atomic operations. Despite fears in Israel and the US that Iran is approaching the point of no return in its ability to build atom bomb, Israeli officials are aware of the change in mood in Washington since President Barack Obama took office. They privately acknowledge the new US administration is unlikely to sanction an air attack on Iran’s nuclear installations and Mr Obama’s offer to extend a hand of peace to Tehran puts any direct military action beyond reach for now.
The aim is to slow down or interrupt Iran’s research program, without the gamble of a direct confrontation that could lead to a wider war.
A former CIA officer on Iran told The Daily Telegraph: “Disruption is designed to slow progress on the programme, done in such a way that they don’t realise what’s happening. You are never going to stop it.

Sonics got it, others don’t. New Sonic opens in Chicago, eat their Hussein!
Doesn’t President Obama listen to himself? We are living in catastrophic economic times. We must all engage in shared sacrifice. We can’t afford to do business as usual.
Yet, he cranks up the White House thermostat and splurges on Oprah’s chef’s upscale restaurant in Chicago for Valentine’s Day.
Next time, make it Sonic — America’s Drive-In.
Lucky for you, Mr. President, a new one just opened up in Chicago.
It’s cheap. It’s fast. It’s delicious. And the cherry limeades are to die for.
Real food for real people. I guess that leaves the Hussein Obamas out.
Porkulus in Seattle protests!
In Schmucky Schumer’s world, these American taxpayers don’t exist. A big crowd of them gathered in Seattle this afternoon to raise their voices in opposition to the trillion-dollar, pork-filled Generational Theft Act of 2009 — which will be signed into law by the blind President “There are no no earmarks” Obama. Thanks to Zac Petersen for the photos. It took just one person — blogger Liberty Belle — to get the ball rolling. She writes: “Make no mistake, the President will be signing that bill tomorrow, I have no illusions that he will actually listen to us. BUT, maybe, just maybe we can start a movement that will snowball across the nation and get people out of their homes, meeting each other and working together to redirect this country towards its truly radical founding principles of individual liberty and freedom. Maybe people will wake up slowly at first, and then quickly when they realize the urgency needed.”

A few more pics from Seattle blogger Snark Patrol here.
The movement continues in Denver tomorrow. Colorado Americans for Prosperity is organizing a protest countering President Obama’s visit to the city to sign the porkulus legislation at an exclusive, invitation-only event at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science in City Park. Protesters will gather at the west steps of the Capitol (Lincoln Street, between 14th and Colfax) from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mountain time.

Roland Burris caught on Blago tapes?
Federal investigators now want to talk with Roland Burris, the man appointed to the Senate by disgraced and impeached Governor Rod Blagojevich in Illinois. According to Burris’ lawyers, the wiretaps may have caught Burris chatting about the Senate opening with Blagojevich or his staff. Burris now has to fend off calls for his resignation by the legislature that has already expelled Blagojevich:
Burris’ evolving explanation of what happened took another twist when he said federal investigators want to talk about his appointment to the Senate seat that Blagojevich was charged with trying to sell.
“What I understand is some of the agents have reached out to my lawyers,” Burris said, adding “they want to meet with me.”
Burris attorney Timothy Wright acknowledged Burris may be on a covert recording in the Blagojevich investigation but declined to explain the senator’s comment about meeting with federal agents, saying “the FBI has not come to us and they’re not asking us for anything.”
Burris, a former attorney general, alternately looked nervous and feisty at a hastily arranged news conference in Chicago just a day before he was to embark on a statewide listening tour to meet the constituents he has represented for about a month. At times, Burris and his lawyer gave contradictory answers or no answers when pressed on whether he told the whole truth about his role.
Whoops! Blago insisted that Burris was clean, although Illinois had little choice but to certify him in any case. Now Burris may have starred in one or more of the conversations the feds have on tape, which means that the little pas de deux Burris played with the legislature makes it more interesting. If Burris lied under oath, then the taped conversations could prove it.
Bill Press owned and destroyed by Megyn Kelly
Hotair got a lot of e-mail about the confrontation between Megyn Kelly and longtime libtalker Bill Press over the Fairness Doctrine, and for good reason. Watch as Bill Press tried to explain Air America’s failure as “running out of money” but avoids Kelly’s conclusion that failing to get listeners was the cause of the cash drought:
“Where they want it, [liberal radio] succeeds, and where they don’t, it doesn’t.” That seems clear enough to everyone except Press, who responds by naming a list of markets where people don’t support libtalkers. He complains twice about the death of libtalking Obama 1260 in DC without mentioning the fact that its ratings were so low it took a microscope to find its listeners. In fact, Obama 1260 carried the entire list of libtalkers Press names as examples of brilliant voices silenced by an evil conspiracy of conservative radio station owners, and the station owner dumped the format because he couldn’t sell their air time to advertisers.
Second biggest laugh: Press won’t apply the Fairness Doctrine to NPR. He wants government dictating content to commercial radio stations, but not to government-subsidized radio stations. Huh?
Biggest laugh: Press says he doesn’t want the Fairness Doctrine, but the “Fair and Balanced Doctrine”. That’s why libtalker marketing needs government intervention to survive. I’ll stick with the free market, thank you.
Even in the UK, so called “environmentalists” are a lot like Hussein. A survey of the homes of top environmentalists has found they leak energy
Across the pond, environmentalis bigwigs are just like our own president — preaching energy conservation while going hog wild in their own homes.
THEY may shout their green credentials from the rooftops, but some of Britain’s most prominent environmental champions are living in homes that produce up to half a ton of excess carbon dioxide a year.
An audit of properties, measuring heat loss, has revealed that Chris Martin, the pop star, Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, and Sir David Attenborough, the broadcaster, are among those who reside in homes that are “leaking” energy. Some lack even the most basic energy saving measures such as cavity wall insulation and double glazing.
Thermal images of the residences of 10 high-profile green campaigners found that their heat loss was either worse or no better than that found in the average family home.
Simon Hughes, the Liberal Democrat energy and climate change spokesman, owned the least energy-efficient property. He bought his £150,000 flat in Southwark, south London, 25 years ago but has failed to fit it with any significant insulation. Only last week Hughes unveiled plans to make every home in Britain energy efficient within the next decade. He could start with his own flat.
