No one wants to work for tax cheat Geithner – STILL!
Frank Brosens, a hedge fund manager who was tax cheat Geithner’s choice to run the office overseeing the $700 billion bank bailout program withdrew his name from consideration. Wow another one? Bloomberg has the info:
Frank Brosens, a founding partner of Taconic Capital Advisors LLC, confirmed in an e-mail he is no longer in the running for the job, which requires Senate confirmation. The position is currently held by Neel Kashkari, a holdover from the Bush administration.
Geithner is having difficulty filling vacancies and is President Barack Obama’s only confirmed appointment at the department as the administration grapples with the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression. At a congressional hearing today, the Treasury chief said that hiring isn’t easy.
“We’re finding a lot of people willing to come serve their country at this moment of challenge, and I think that’s very encouraging,” Geithner told the House Financial Services Committee. “We’re going to need some more people, though, and we’re working very hard to bring in enough talent to help us get through this.” . . .
Sign to online petition – don’t let Obama spew his rhethoric at Notre Dame
Over 80,000 have already signed the petition in protest of Hussein Obama’s invitation to speak at Notre Dame.
Obama down to 50% approval in Zogby Poll
You can pick and choose which poll you want to believe (if you want to believe in any at all). Rassmussen has Hussein Obama at 56%, Pew/NPR show his support at 59%, while liberal biased polls such as CBS and CNN have him in the 60%s. The latest Gallup poll has him at 65%.
Regardless if you are an Obama Bot or not, his poll numbers have dropped off with his far left agenda since taking office just over 2 months, unless you want to cling to the liberal biased CNN and CBS polls. Of course, one may want to call Zogby a right wing biased poll since its so far to the right of the others. Regardless, The Boston Herald covers the details offered by the pollster:
Pollster John Zogby said his poll out today will show Americans split on the president’s performance. He said the score factors out to “about 50-50.”
Some polls show Obama coasting with a 65 percent job approval, but not in Zogby’s tally.
“The numbers are going down,” Zogby told the Herald. “It’s not because of the gaffes, but a combination of high expectations and that things aren’t moving fast enough with the economy.”
Sarah Palin robocalls in Iowa and New Hampshire?
Say it aint so Joe! Those ’15′ minutes of fame that the liberal biased mainstream media talked about in regards to Palin either is ticking away slower than a normal 15 minutes, or they just keep getting extended. Doesn’t mean she’s responsible for them, but The Mudflats mentions the following::
I wanted to let you know that I just received an interesting phone call. It was an automated poll and it asked the following questions:
1. Do you have a favorable opinion of Sarah Palin?
2. Gov. Palin thinks A, B, C, D & E do you agree with Gov. Palin?
3. Do you feel it is important that Gov. Palin is reelected as Gov. of Alaska?
Chris Dodd’s wife paid by AIG!
Senator Dodd, has been at the forefront of the AIG bonus controversy. While the media and democrats in congress show faux rage over those who received the bonuses (thanks to Geithner and Dodd where made possible in the first place), something else is developing. Chris Dodd was the #1 receipiant of AIG campaign donations last year (followed by Hussein Obama in a close second). Now RedState has learned that Dodd’s wife served on the board of – and was compensated by – an AIG subsidiary?
From 2001-2004, Jackie Clegg Dodd served as an “outside” director of IPC Holdings, Ltd., a Bermuda-based company controlled by AIG. IPC, which provides property casualty catastrophe insurance coverage, was formed in 1993 and currently has a market cap of $1.4 billion and trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol IPCR. In 2001, in addition to a public offering of 15 million shares of stock that raised $380 million, IPC raised more than $109 million through a simultaneous private placement sale of 5.6 million shares of stock to AIG – giving AIG a 20% stake in IPC. (AIG sold its 13.397 million shares in IPC in August, 2006.)
Clegg was compensated for her duties to the company, which was managed by a subsidiary of AIG. In 2003, according to a proxy statement, Clegg received $12,000 per year and an additional $1,000 for each Directors’ and committee meeting she attended. Clegg served on the Audit and Investment committees during her final year on the board.
IPC paid millions each year to other AIG-related companies for administrative and other services. Clegg was a diligent director. In 2003, the proxy statement report, she attended more than 75% of board and committee meetings. This while she served as the managing partner of Clegg International Consultants, LLC, which she created in 2001, the year she joined the board of IPC. (See Dodd’s public financial disclosure reports with the Senate from 2001-2004 here.)
Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny #1 on Amazon.com <– READ IT
Michelle Malkin has been reading Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny — and says you should be, too. It’s now #1 on Amazon.com for a reason. Mark Levin unlike the the loser RINOs in DC nowadays has written a stalwart conservative manifesto written by a conservative who doesn’t want to re-brand and repackage conservatism into liberalism. He draws on founding principles, not polls, to lay out the agenda for the Right — and to illuminate the fatal flaws of statism.
Washed up old fishwraps like the New York Times and WaPo want preferential treatment from Google!
Considering Google already gives perferential treatment to liberal biased sites like Huffington Post (basically showing up at the top of every google search, no matter what the political topic), others such as the New York Times and Washington Post want a piece of the search engine pie too. According to Advertising Age:
Major media companies are increasingly lobbying Google to elevate their expensive professional content within the search engine’s undifferentiated slush of results.
Many publishers resent the criteria Google uses to pick top results, starting with the original PageRank formula that depended on how many links a page got. But crumbling ad revenue is lending their push more urgency; this is no time to show up on the third page of Google search results. And as publishers renew efforts to sell some content online, moreover, they’re newly upset that Google’s algorithm penalizes paid content.
“You should not have a system,” one content executive said, “where those who are essentially parasites off the true producers of content benefit disproportionately.”
No Youtube for you China (again)
China has apparently blocked the YouTube video-sharing website because it had videos showing soldiers beating monks and other Tibetans. A Chinese government spokesman would not confirm whether YouTube had indeed been blocked. China has a history of blocking websites which carry messages it views as politically unacceptable. I wonder how long before the US decides to block Fox News, and other conservative websites?
Don’t forget to turn your lights out this weekend!
Didn’t you know? Its “Earth Hour” this weekend! Even some in Borat’s homeland of Kazaksthan will be celebrating! This coming weekend, the enviro-wackos will celebrate “Earth Hour” by turning off their lights. Of course, most of them have had their lights go out many moons ago if you know what I mean.
Tax cheat Geithner’s plan – cash for trash
The “cash for trash” plan as Hotair calls it debuted on Monday and the result is the fifth-biggest point gain in Dow history. Did the tax cheat finally fix last month’s speech fiasco? Hope and Change:
The Treasury plan “may be a game-changer, because it’s been sprinkled with some better-than-expected economic data,” says Tom Sowanick, chief investment officer at Clearbrook Financial in Princeton, N.J. “If the tea leaves all start to line together I think this will be the beginning of a major bull market.”…
“You cannot fight this intervention,” Steve Grasso, of Stuart Frankel, told CNBC. “When you start to see the market just climb after weeks and months of being sold out, you have to participate.”
Michelle Malkin isn’t so impressed.
Glenn Beck is Howard Beale?
With Glenn Beck’s ratings continuing to soar, left wing nutjobs like Bill Maher continue to trash him. Last Friday (March the 20th), he was number one in all of cable news in the coveted 25-54 age demo, ahead even of Bill O’Reilly. Today on his show, Beck attempting to mock the moonbats, including Keith Olberman, he compared himself to Howard Beale! Hotair has a great idea regarding the time slots on Fox though. How about moving Special Report 5 p.m., Shep to 6, and Beck to 7? With the ratings Beck continues to get, its a crime that he isn’t in prime time. How about just doing away with that turd Shep altogether?
Hetrophobe Barney Frank calls Justice Scalia a homophobe
Shhhhhh, be vewwy vewwy qwiet. Bawney Fwank is hunting wepubwicans. huhuhuhuhuhuhuh.
According to The Hill, Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) called Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia a “homophobe” Friday for opposing gay rights.
“I do think that this argument that it’s unconstitutional for the federal government to pick and choose which marriages it will recognize is a good one,” Frank said Friday in an interview with a gay news website, 365gay.com.
“At some point it’s going to have to go to the United States Supreme Court,” he continued. “I wouldn’t want it to go to the United States Supreme Court now because that homophobe Antonin Scalia has too many votes on this court.”
The AP is an utter disgrace! (And this has nothing to do with politics, but EVERYTHING to do with class warfare)
Just saw over at Michelle Malkin’s about the utter disgrace the AP has turned into. And this has nothing to do with my political ranting either. Many of you probably heard about the tragic plane crash in Montana over the weekend. Seven children, all under the age of 9, died in the horrific plane crash in Montana over the weekend along with the pilot and the children’s parents. How does the AP chose to start off the story its lead sentence:
BUTTE, Mont. (AP) – Three California families headed to a retreat for the ultrarich were among the 14 victims of a plane crash in Montana.
Exactly why was the “ultrarich” crack necessary? How exactly is it relevent that that the vacation spot these people were deaded to “costs too much”? Well, maybe we can ask Code Pink, who chanted “Jail the Rich” in San Francisco today.
Arnold’s solution to fix California’s economic problems: ban plasma TVs!
With California’s unemployment rate in double digits for the first time since the early 1980s, Arnold and the rest of the loons in the state have a solution to the problem! Ban those EVIL big bad plasma TVs! They want to ban plasma TVs because they’re not green enough! I got a 24″ monitor for my computer, will they come for that too?
Worst Press Secretary EVER – Robert Gibbs is all “Russia’ed out”
Poor Robert Gibbs. The worst Press Secretary in the history of the White House is starting to FINALLY get some legit questions from the media and can’t handle them. Too bad the media wasn’t this serious when Hussein Obama was actually RUNNING for OFFICE. One of the quotes from the latest disaster of a press briefing was where Gibbs pouted that he was “all Russia’ed out” after fielding several questions on the subject. He managed to regain his energy for a bit though, about all those ObamaBots going door to do to spam the Obama budget. But maybe the best moment of the event according to Michelle Malkin was when Gibbs seemed to piss off April Ryan. Ryan asked some legit questions about America’s reliance on foreign governments buying up our debt and whether there would be any “news” coming out of tomorrow’s presidential press conference. As is usual for Gibbs, he tried to dodge Ryan’s questions to which, Ryan retorted: “Stop being flip!” Then Gibbs goes back into Gibbs chuckling mode and that seemed to piss off April Ryan even more as she complained: “I’m serious.”
The Teleprompter in chief!
Michelle Malkin has posted some hillarious new images of the teleprompter in chief, sent to her via twitters and other blogs.
We new logo from David Stein

Theres some others such as Doug Ross showing Obama’s “love for basketball” and Bucktown Dusty’s image with Tax Cheat Geithner.
Here comes the Acorn judge! Here comes the Acorn Judge! Obama nominates David F. Hamilton, ACORN fundraiser!
ObamAcorn is in full force. President Hussein Obama has nominated an ACORN loyalist and fundraiser, David F. Hamilton to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. According to Hussein Obama (Via The Other McCain):
“He has a long and impressive record of service and a history of handing down fair and judicious decisions. He will be a thoughtful and distinguished addition to the 7th circuit and I am extremely pleased to put him forward to serve the people of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin,”
Obama’s “Republican” buddy seems to have no problem with The Acorn Judge according to The American Spectator:
Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Indiana) is already smitten with Hamilton. “I enthusiastically support the Senate confirmation of David Hamilton for U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Hamilton has served the Southern District of Indiana with distinction as U.S. District Court Judge,” Lugar said.
Moe Lane is surprised that Obama didn’t add Hamilton to SCOTUS list.
“Outraged” over the AIG bonuses? You ain’t seen nothing yet!
You think the contractually obligated bonuses paid by AIG from the TARP money was bad? You ain’t seen nothing yet. From Newsweek:
There was plenty of outrage on Capitol Hill last week over the executive bonuses paid out by AIG after getting federal bailout money. But another money trail could make voters just as angry: the campaign dollars to members of Congress from banks and firms that have received billions via the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
While a few big firms, such as Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase, have curtailed their campaign giving, others are quietly doling out cash to select members of Congress, particularly those who serve on committees that oversee TARP. In recent filings with the Federal Election Commission, the political action committee for Bank of America (which got $15 billion in bailout money) sent out $24,500 in the first two months of 2009, including $1,500 to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and another $15,000 to members of the House and Senate banking panels. Citigroup ($25 billion) dished out $29,620, including $2,500 to House GOPWhip Eric Cantor, who also got $10,000 from UBS which, while not a TARP recipient, got $5 billion in bailout funds as an AIG “counterparty.” “This certainly appears to be a case of TARP funds being recycled into campaign contributions,” says Brett Kappel, a D.C. lawyer who tracks donations. (A spokesman for Cantor did not respond to requests for comment. A spokeswoman for Hoyer said it’s his “policy to accept legal contributions.”)
Hey Obama – Are you Punch Drunk?
Liberal Steve Kroft and the rest of your CBS buddies want to know! Yes, the Punch Drunk question was one of the questions asked during the Hussein Obama’s 60 minutes interview.
Kroft: You’re sitting here. And you’re laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, ‘I mean, he’s sitting there just making jokes about money?’ How do you deal with — I mean: explain … Are you punch-drunk?”
Obama: No, no. There’s gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day. Sometimes my team talks about the fact that, uh, if you had said a year ago that the least of my problems would have been Iraq — which is still a pretty serious problem — I don’t think anyone would have believed it. But we’ve got a lot on our plate, and a lot of difficult decisions we’re going to have to make.
Death to Iran!
From the Weekly Standard, in response to Hussein Obama’s “video message” sent to Iran:
In a speech on Saturday, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded directly to Barack Obama’s video mash note from late last week. According to the Associated Press: “Khamenei, wearing a black turban and dark robes, said America was hated around the world for its arrogance, as the crowd chanted ‘Death to America.‘”
Heres my response to Iran: DEATH TO IRAN!
