First no more ‘War on Terror’, now “enemy combatant” term
That muslim faith of Obama is still coming home to roost! In what has become the “Nation of Cowards” per Eric Holder, we can no longer call fighting terrorists “The war on Terror”. Now comes word from the Washington Post that the Hussein Obama administration will no longer be describing Gitmo detainees as “Enemy combatants”. I think Holder may be actually right. This country under the dictatorship of Hussein Obama is becoming a Nation of Cowards!
The Obama Administration today dropped the term “enemy combatant” to describe those held at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and increased the legal threshold needed to detain them.
The Justice Department disclosed the move in a court filing in response to a federal judge’s order seeking a definition of the term “enemy combatant.”
Judges have said the definition will play a key role in determining whether the government has justified the confinement of scores of detainees who are challenging their status in U.S. District Court.
In a break with the Bush Administration’s policies, the Justice Department said it would only seek to detain those who “substantially supported” the Taliban, Al Qaeda or associated forces or participated in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The Bush Administration had argued it could detain those who provided support to those groups and others “engaged in hostilities” against the United States and its allies.
Obama pissing off another ally. This time its BRAZIL!
Via Foreign Policy, and HotAir, wondering if anyone’s told The Messiah yet that the State Department has an office of protocol for this sort of thing. Maybe he knows and just assumes that if they can’t even do translations anymore, they can’t be trusted with something like this. Or maybe, as with Treasury, he simply forgot to staff the office.
When you’re the world’s biggest celebrity, you don’t have to fret over diplomatic niceties.
Brazil has become a major U.S. trading partner, with cautious economic policies that have helped it weather the crisis better than almost all other major economies. With huge new offshore oil finds and abundant ethanol, Brazil could be key to helping wean the U.S. off Venezuelan crude and shift to cleaner energies.
Still, the White House made several moves interpreted as snubs by the Brazilian media.
Silva aides said the trip was pushed forward from Tuesday because of the St. Patrick’s Day holiday – making Latin America once again look like an afterthought. Then, the White House announcement misspelled his name as “Luis Ignacio” and put “Lula” – a nickname that decades ago became a legal part of the Brazilian leader’s name – in quotes.
The White House quickly corrected the mistake.
After their first two months in office, who had a higher approval rating? Obama or Bush?
Think really hard now. The media will tell you how the Messiah and the sleeveless one are the best thing ever to happen to this country. They will show a bunch of deadbeats on TV like burger flipper Julio Osequedo creaming their pants at the sight of Hussein Obama. So you would think with how ‘evil’ George W. Bush was and how perfect the Messiah is, there would be no comparassion right? Think again. Douglas Schoen and Scott Rasmussen explain that Obama’s support has quickly declined to just his own party, and even that may be at risk:
It is simply wrong for commentators to continue to focus on President Barack Obama’s high levels of popularity, and to conclude that these are indicative of high levels of public confidence in the work of his administration. Indeed, a detailed look at recent survey data shows that the opposite is most likely true. The American people are coming to express increasingly significant doubts about his initiatives, and most likely support a different agenda and different policies from those that the Obama administration has advanced.
Polling data show that Mr. Obama’s approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001. Rasmussen Reports data shows that Mr. Obama’s net presidential approval rating — which is calculated by subtracting the number who strongly disapprove from the number who strongly approve — is just six, his lowest rating to date.
The most toxic ‘asset’ of them all. Tax Cheat Tim Geithner loses another deputy – Cohen now comes the *4th* pick to pull out from working with Turbo Taxcheat Geithner
Yet again, the man who cheated on his taxes, but yet HAD to be confirmed as Hussein Obama’s Treasury Secretary: Turbo Tax Cheat Tim Geithner loses another deputy. Does anyone really want to work for this tax cheat? Do other tax cheats even want to bother? Washington Post has the following info:
H. Rodgin Cohen, chairman of the New York law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, has withdrawn his name from consideration for deputy Treasury secretary, becoming the fourth pick for a prominent Treasury Department post to pull out in recent weeks.
A prominent attorney who has advised many of the top Wall Street firms, Cohen dropped out after the White House found an issue during his vetting process, two sources familiar with the matter said. The sources declined to identify the reason. Cohen did not respond to messages seeking comment.
Though the Treasury is filling its lower-level positions, the thin ranks on the senior levels are taking a toll on the department’s ability to deal with a financial crisis that continues to deepen in scope and complexity, government and industry officials say.
Gus O’Donnell, Cabinet Secretary for the British government, was quoted this week in British news reports saying it has been “unbelievably difficult” to talk to people at the U.S. Treasury: “There is nobody there.”
115 cities signed up for the April 15 nationwide Tax Day Tea Party protest!
Michelle Malkin has a new article mentioning how one of her readers, Eric Odom reports that there are now 115 cities signed up for the April 15 nationwide Tax Day Tea Party protest. If you haven’t signed up, want to start your own, or are looking to meet up and organize with other tax revolters, go to Tax Day Tea Party’s website here. And you can also check out the quick how-to guide.
BTW, to get fired up for April 15th and the protests, check out this great video from Paul Williams:
Obama flipflops again! The economic crisis isn’t as bad as we thought! This is the man who said things now are as about as the Great Depression a couple weeks ago!
Hussein Obama is quite the flipflopper. He has flipflopped on more campaign promises in his first 50 days than most Presidents have done over their 4 or 8 year terms. Today comes another epic change from the Messiah from BreitBart:
Confronting misgivings, even in his own party, President Barack Obama mounted a stout defense of his blueprint to overhaul the economy Thursday, declaring the national crisis is “not as bad as we think” and his plans will speed recovery.
Challenged to provide encouragement as the nation’s “confidence builder in chief,” Obama said Americans shouldn’t be whipsawed by bursts of either bad or good news and he was “highly optimistic” about the long term.
The president’s proposals for major health care, energy and education changes in the midst of economic hard times faced skepticism from both Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill, as senators questioned his budget outlook and the deficits it envisions in the middle of the next decade.
But Obama, speaking to top executives of the Business Roundtable, expressed an optimistic vision and called for patience.
Richard Parsons, chairman of beleaguered Citigroup Inc., asked if Obama could offer some help in a national battle “between confidence and fear.”
“A smidgen of good news and suddenly everything is doing great. A little bit of bad news and ooohh , we’re down on the dumps,” Obama said. “And I am obviously an object of this constantly varying assessment. I am the object in chief of this varying assessment.”
“I don’t think things are ever as good as they say, or ever as bad as they say,” Obama added. “Things two years ago were not as good as we thought because there were a lot of underlying weaknesses in the economy. They’re not as bad as we think they are now.”
“And my long-term projections are highly optimistic, if we take care of some of these long-term structural problems.”
Obama Nominates S.F. Lawyer who defended ‘American Taliban’ for Justice Post
Is this a joke? Sadly it isn’t:
Tony West, a high-powered San Francisco lawyer whose clients have ranged from corporate giants to “American Taliban” John Walker Lindh, has been nominated by President Obama as an assistant attorney general in charge of the Justice Department’s Civil Division. West, 43, an Oakland resident, met Obama in 2004 at the Democratic National Convention and was one of his finance co-chairs in California last year, when the campaign raised a record $65 million in the state
Wal Mart stocks downgraded with Card Check looming
Obama and the democrat’s war on business continues. As Spectator.org writes:
A Citigroup analyst has downgraded Wal-Mart’s stock writing that it would increase labor costs and and pinch their profits. “We believe that (Wal-Mart) would be the primary target if EFCA/card check were to be passed,” the anlayst wrote. Just what the economy needs.
Maxine “dirty” Waters Helped Steer Bailout Funds to Bank With Family Ties
Theres a reason why she earned the name Maxine “Dirty” Waters out here in California. Here is a prime example why. Acccording to Fox News and Michelle Malkin Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., helped steered millions of dollars in bailout funds to a bank on whose board her husband served. The bank also didn’t appear to meet the requirements for receiving the money. Waters, a member of the House Financial Services Committee, arranged a meeting in September between Treasury officials and the chief executive of OneUnited, one of the country’s largest black-owned banks, which requested $50 million in special bailout funds.
Update – 3/13/09
Michelle Malkin has a syndicated column today entitled: Maxine Waters: Banking on hypocrisy
Maxine dirty Water’s response? You guessed it. YOU ARE RACIST!
Heres a quote from her from Polictico’s story:
I am indeed an advocate for minority banks. Despite my public and consistent advocacy, news reports suggest that somehow I have acted improperly
I was wrong about Micheal Steele. He continues to make himself and the GOP look like morons. Thankfully, he COULD be gone soon.
You know, when the GOP named Micheal Steele to lead the GOP I thought it was a great move, I had a lot of respect to the man, and thought he would do a bang up job, cleaning up the party. He’s done a bang up job alright, like crashing and burning and turning the GOP into a bigger circus than before. Not only do he pathetically cower to gangbanger lookalike DL Hughley’s “Nazi” comment about the CPAC, but now he’s also pissed off Mike Huckabee’s Christian base. According to AOL however, Michael Steele’s tenure as RNC chair could be over before it really begins, if recent reports are true. Anonymous Republican sources have told 2 different outlets that Steele’s ouster may be imminent.
FBI Raids Offices of Obama’s Chief Technology Officer AND Obama’s terrorist pal Bill Ayers / Bernie Dorhn accussed of direct involvement with the San Francisco police station bombing
Quite the day for crime news. We see that crook Bernie Madoff hauled off the jail where he should rot for the rest of his life. Then we also learn about two other interesting tidbits. First, lets mention the 2 arrested in FBI raid at Obama appointee’s office via WTOP:
An employee of the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer and a private contractor were arrested Thursday in a federal bribery sting, sources tell WTOP.
Yusuf Acar, 40, an employee of the D.C. Office of the CTO was taken into custody by FBI agents at his home in Northwest D.C.
Sushil Bansal, President and CEO of Advanced Integrated Technologies Corporation (AITC) was also arrested, sources tell WTOP.
In 2008, Bansal’s firm received .Net Development Support and Peoplesoft Consulting Support contracts from the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Office totaling $350,000.
Now on Bill Ayers from Hotair and College Politico (Hotair links their to site the source, but I can’t find the story, so i’ll just link there anyway):
A San Francisco police union has accused former domestic terrorist William Ayers, co-founder of the Weather Underground, and his wife in a 1970 bombing that killed one sergeant, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The union, in a letter to a conservative organization lobbying for arrests in the case, accused Ayers and wife Bernardine Dohrn of bombing a city police station.
On Feb. 16, 1970, a bomb placed on a window ledge of Park Station killed Sgt. Brian McDonnell and injured eight other officers, the Chronicle reported.
The union said it had not been in contact with investigators nor did it have new evidence, but it cited Larry Grathwohl, who works with the conservative organization America’s Survival of Maryland and claims that he infiltrated Weather Underground as an FBI informant and heard Ayers confess, the Chronicle reported.
“There are irrefutable and compelling reasons to believe that Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn … are largely responsible for the bombing of Park Police Station,” the Feb. 24 letter reads, according to the Chronicle.
Time Magazine and ABC trying to defend and downplay Botox Pelosi’s abuse of military aircraft
Air Pelosi Thanks for the Photo Bucktown
What a shock. Maybe its a more of a shocker that these two left wing moonbat “news organizations” are covering it in the first place, and not just downright igoring what Juidical Watch uncovered the otherday. According to ABC:
In fact, it appears that Pelosi uses military aircraft less often than her predecessor, former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.
And according to Karen Tumulty of Time Magazine while basicaly linking over the ABC story, she Tumulty also smear’s Michelle Malkin for mentioning the story in the first place:
There was much tut-tutting over Judicial Watch’s allegation earlier this week that Nancy Pelosi “treats the Air Force like her personal airline.” But over at ABC, Jonathan Karl and Luis Martinez actually read this “trove” of documents on what Michelle Malkin calls “Queen Nancy’s military air travel.” And what did they find?
Obama, tax cheat Geithner Get Low Grades From Economists according to WSJ
The Messiah! The savior! The anti-bush! He’s brilliant and will fix the economy with the porkulus and increased government! Errr. Not so fast according to this WSJ Article:
U.S. President Barack Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner received failing grades for their efforts to revive the economy from participants in the latest Wall Street Journal forecasting survey.
In striking contrast to President Obama’s popularity with the public, a new Wall Street Journal survey of economists gives the president and his treasury secretary failing grades. WSJ’s Phil Izzo and Kelly Evans discuss.
The economists’ assessment stands in stark contrast with Mr. Obama’s popularity with the public, with a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll giving him a 60% approval rating. A majority of the 49 economists polled said they were dissatisfied with the administration’s economic policies.
On average, they gave the president a grade of 59 out of 100, and although there was a broad range of marks, 42% of respondents rated Mr. Obama below 60. Mr. Geithner received an average grade of 51. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke scored better, with an average 71.
Ari Fleischer destroys tingly leg Chris Matthews!
I don’t watch MSNBC (as I have mentioned before). There is a reason why hardly anyone watches them and their ratings are some of the lowest on cable TV. Only the most extreme left-wing moonbats would watch that network for anything other than their jail shows on weekends. So after reading Finkleblog and Beltway Blips I noticed that tingly leg Chrissy Matthews and Ari Flesicher had a little spat on “Hardball”. According to FinkleBlog:
Savor the video, which includes these highlights:
* Matthews begins by asking what Fleisher is doing on the show. Answer: “Chris, I’m here because you invited me to be here.”
* Fleisher asks Matthews “how dare you?” for seeking to blame Pres. Bush for 9/11 and calls Matthews’ comments “shameful.”
* “Chris, how disingenuous are you?”
* Matthews suggests we’d be better off with Saddam Hussein still in power.
* At one point, Fleisher asks “Chris, do you ever not interrupt your guests, or is that all you like to do?” The stagehands can be heard bursting into laughter. There’s lots more. This is pure TV gold that is sure to make the talk show rounds for days to come. Good on Ari for saying to Matthews’ face what surely many other guests thought, but didn’t dare vocalize.
And below is the epic video for your entertainment:
Oh BTW, heres a wrap up of March 10th, 2009′s cable news viewers:

MSNBC OLBERMANN 928,000
Hmmm. Wheres tingly leg?
A second porkulus? Botox Nancy Pelosi wants one. And so do only 27% of Americans
According to Hotair and Rasmussen:
Just 27% of voters nationwide favor passage of a second economic stimulus package. The latest Rasmussen Reports nationwide telephone survey found that 55% are opposed and 19% are not sure.
Despite the public opposition, 74% say it’s likely that Congress will try to pass another stimulus
Tax Cheat Tim Geithner – Capitalism will be difference now!
The reason why this country is in the sorry shape it is in right now is purely the result of government intervention in the markets (such as artificially lowering interest rates,Fannie and Freddie giving mortgages to those who couldn’t afford one in the first place). This whole lack of “capitalism” is what got us here in the first place. You can also thank Bush for expanding this BS with that whole TARP fiasco. But don’t you worry. Now the Treasury Secretary and tax cheat Tim Geithner says Capitalism will be different now? You mean even more like socialism? Watch the following video:
Guess the biggest earmark in the omni-porkulus bill. $2 billion FutureGen Alliance Project of Illinois – heavily supported by Dick Durbin AND Blago!
Tom Coburn proposed an amendment that would strike the largest single earmark ever – a $2 billion appropriation for the FutureGen Alliance Project of Illinois. Former Illinois Democrat Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been among the project’s biggest supporters, even though the U.S. Department of Energy says it’s a waste of resources. Of course, just as expected, Coburn’s fight to strip this pig out of the bill was denied. Here is a summary of what Coburn proposed before it was shot down (taken from the DC Examiner):
Coburn’s staff has compiled the following case against the FutureGen earmark:
- $2 Billion FutureGen Earmark Violates President Obama’s Demand for an “Earmark-Free” Stimulus Bill
- The $2 Billion Earmark for FutureGen Is the Most Expensive Congressional Pork Project in History
- Department of Energy Says “FutureGen a Waste of Tax Money”
- Independent Experts and Opinion Leaders Agree that FutureGen Is Not the Best Technology
- Funding for FutureGen in this bill is a Result of Successful Lobbying rather than Its Potential for Job Creation or Energy Production
- Energy Producers Who Are Enjoying Record Profits Do Not Need Government Subsidies, Especially at a Time When Other Struggling Industries Are Laying Off Employees
- Carbon Capture Technology Is Not “Shovel Ready,” which is the Stated Criteria for Stimulus Funding
- Earmarking Funding for Unproven Technology, for FutureGen or Any Other Company, Siphons Away Funding that Could be Better Directed to More Worthwhile Causes That Benefit Taxpayers
- $2 Billion Earmark for FutureGen Is the Most Expensive Pork Project in History
- It is 2,000 times more expensive than the $1 million Woodstock museum in New York that was rejected by the Senate.
- It is nine times costlier than the infamous Alaska “Bridge to Nowhere,” which was priced at $223 million in 2005.[3]
- The $1.5 billion earmarked by Congress to the Washington, D.C. Metro system last year had been the most expensive pork project, until now.
- President Obama asked Congress to pass an economic stimulus bill free of Congressional pet projects. Senate leaders claim there are no earmarks in the stimulus bill. Yet hidden in the text of a bill is very clever language intended to disguise its nature is the largest earmark in history– $2 billion for FutureGen Industrial Alliance, a company based in Matoon, Illinois.
- The text of the bill reads “$2,000,000,000 is available for one or more near zero emission powerplant(s).” Yet, there is only one “near zero emissions” powerplant anywhere near development in the entire nation—the FutureGen power plant. In fact, FutureGen boasts being a “first-of-its-kind” power plant in development.[1] The truth is it could rightly be called an “only-of-its-kind” power plant under development.
Speaking of those “hoping for a president to fail”. How about James Carville?
Lets see. There was this major uproar by whiny democrats about how Rush Limbaugh mentioned he wanted Obama’s socialist polices to fail. HOW DARE YOU SAY SUCH A THING! How could you ever want a President of the United States to Fail! Even Republican! Then we learned about how 51 percent of Democrats hoping Bush would fail — two raging wars notwithstanding. Today we learn from Fox News that yet another promienet Democrat, James Carville wanted BOOOOOOOOSH to fail as well. On September 11th, 2001 no less!
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.”
Carville was joined by Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg, who seemed encouraged by a survey he had just completed that revealed public misgivings about the newly minted president.
“We rush into these focus groups with these doubts that people have about him, and I’m wanting them to turn against him,” Greenberg admitted.
The pollster added with a chuckle of disbelief: “They don’t want him to fail. I mean, they think it matters if the president of the United States fails.”
Pot, meet kettle.
Crock of sh*t. Obama signs pork ladened bill (out of view of cameras), then promises to “clean up Washington”
Hussein Obama decided to sign the omni-porkbill containing 9,000+ earmarks (making sure that he’s out of camera view), sinks American even deeper into democrat debt, then claims to the public an “imperfect” bill. He also mentiond that this pork ladened bill has bred “cynicism” (aka, thats why his approval rating has dropped, and his disaproval rating has skyrocketed in recent days). Then he has the arrogance to claim:
“This piece of legislation must mark an end to the old way of doing business.”
Obama would make a great used car salesman. With the auto industry in shambles, maybe someone could hire him in Detroit. Cue the Obama Hero pose!
Going Galt spreading like a wildfire
You may remember Michelle Malkin’s recent syndicated column about how fed up people are getting with the democrats plan of taxing the country up its a*s. As the “Going Galt” phenomon continues to spread, and more and more people get outraged at welfare distribution, Michelle Malkin’s e-mail inbox is filled with letters from Americans expressing how they are Going Galt. These people “refuse” to bow down to and allow Government to punish them for their success. Michelle Malkin posted some of her recent e-mails, videos and other blogs of others who are going public about “Going Galt”. Theres even a new Twitter hashtag: #goinggalt.
