Now it seems I should also worry about his knowledge of protocol abroad to. OK, let’s get our facts straight. Inviolate American Protocol since 1776 has been that no American and most especially the President shall bow to any king or potentate. That has been an absolute rule in our protocol manuals for over 200 years. Absolute, inviolate.

So BHO, AS PRESIDENT, was fully briefed on proper etiquette for meeting royalty and most especially the King of Saudi Arabia prior to the visit. Bowing to anyone as President of the United States is a major NO NO because bowing shows subjugation and/or placing yourself beneath that person. It is not a sign of “respect” as some have suggested but a visual statement of “being less than” the person to whom the bow is offered.

That is why no American President has ever in the history of this nation, under circumstance whatsoever, bowed to any king, queen, ruler or potentate. We fought the war of independence in 1776 to stop bowing or being in subjection to the King of England and that is a central part of who we are.

So President Obama’s bow to the King of any country and most especially Saudi Arabia is very disturbing on so many levels. The most of which is that BHO has, as President of this great and sovereign nation, given proof that he considers The United States as inferior and subject to the King Saudi Arabia. He did not bow to any other monarch either in attendance, before the meeting or after the meeting.

Remember, Americans never bow to any King or anyone. Ever!

Bowing to a monarch is only for their subjects, it’s their own protocol but not to foreign dignitaries to follow esp.a president of the USA. For the US Pres. to show respect to a monarch, a hand shake should have been enough. The White House must employ people who are experience in handling protocols both in visiting foreign countries and esp. meeting sitting monarchs.

Lets hope there’s no more mistake in the future. We don’t want to see the Obamas kneel and kiss the Pope’s ring if ever they meet or visit Rome.

The president as well as anyone else must be ever careful to avoid the appearance of worship for mere mankind. Only God is to be worshiped. For He is our maker and we are the creatures of His hands. However, onoly God can judge the heart of a person whether Obama meant worship or whether he meant mere courtesy. Yet, the president must take some time and study some etiqutte as he travels from one culture to another for decency sake. He represents the nation. HE must act for the nation also, in some respects of national interest, as well as he must be given a chance to be himself at proper times. NOne of us knows exactly what we would do under certain cultural circumstances. So, there could be room for forgiveness coupled with expected improvement in behavior, by our president.
