Homeland Security Document Targets Most Conservatives and Libertarians in The Country! The evil RightWing conspiracy! – Lawsuit filed against Janet Napolitano

janet-napolitano-nope.jpgThe Department of Homeland Security has a new report called “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Environment Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.” The report’s attempt to define what exactly is “right-wing extremism” according to The Liberty Papers is as follows:

Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.  It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has no specific information that domestic rightwing* terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues. The economic downturn and the election of the first African American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment.

Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning.

Numerous other blogs are now mentioning this story, including Malkin’s post linked above, The American Spectator, PoliGazette, Homeland Security Watch, etc.

The American Legion which was designated as hate group in this report has their own response.

Update 4/17.2009 – Senators Coburn, Brownback, DeMint, Burr, Murkowski, Inhofe, and Vitter sent a  letter to DHS Secretary Napolitano yesterday concerning the DHS conservative hit job. Michelle Malkin has the full letter.

Law suit filed against Janet Napolitano from the Thomas More Law Center:

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced that yesterday evening it filed a federal lawsuit (General - PDF Links click here to read) against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.  The lawsuit claims that her Department’s “Rightwing Extremism Policy,” as reflected in the recently publicized Intelligence Assessment, “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” violates the civil liberties of combat veterans as well as American citizens by targeting them for disfavored treatment on account of their political beliefs.

Well I guess Glenn Beck and Wayne LaPierre inciting fear and terrorism over a gun ban that doesn’t even exist and causing the deaths of three police officers in the process has prompted the DHS into action. Good! The Patriot Act is there for a reason and inciting terrorism is still illegal in this country.

  • lnthomp

Syntax: I’ve been watching Glenn Beck for the last three weeks and there is no incitement to violence in any of his shows. I have never heard of Wayne LaPierre.

Those who support individual rights to own guns have reason to worry about a President who, during the campaign, denigrated people “clinging to their guns and religion”. Also, President Obama has publicly stated a desire to re-instate the “assault weapons ban” and his administration has made a (proven-false) claim that most of the weapons used for violence in Mexico came from the U.S.

Well, during the Bush era and the warrantless wiretapping and violations of Constitutional protection against warrantless searches, the neo-coonservatives were fond of proclaiming “if you’ve done nothing wrong, then you’ve nothing to worry about”.

Shouldn’t that same mindset hold true today?

Now you know how the anti-war groups felt to be targeted by the DHS! In my opinion; you would have to admit, “the shoe is on the other foot!”

to Joe Heathen: I’m sure when Bush was in office you were screaming he and his policies were infringing on YOUR rights, but to be fair since Obama has been in office there are real concerns our rights (to you & I) are under fire. I couldn’t buy .45 cal ammo to go to the range a couple weeks ago. I was told the “store” was only allowed so much ammo a month, and they had already sold-out the cal. I needed. Now this has never before happened. As for this Hit Piece from DHS, basically saying anyone who doesn’t support Obama and his Ideas and policies are now considered a part of some right wing extremist group. Where is this report on the Left? especially while Bush was in office? Back when liberal groups were putting out “mockudrama’s” on the assassination of bush. I only wonder if Obama himself would have made this left wing list, or Pelosi, Reid, Biden, or Barney Frank…Hmm….

They tell us there is no war on terror, but to
be afraid of veterans and people on the right.
How many World Trade Centers have been blown up
these people who are more dangerous than terrorists?

I,m a conservative, a veteran, I support the NRA, I beleive in the Constitution and most importantly I’m a Christian. I’m 61 years old and when I look at the direction this country is taking, I get sick to my stomach. I can’t help but beleive that the leadership in Washington is has lost their values and principals. I know for a fact that none of them have read the Bible or know Gods word or many of the bills being created would not be happening. ACLU, which I’m sure all of this present party support have worked hard to take God out of every aspect of our daily lives and now look at the self evident results. Unless we all stand up for God we will definitey reap what we sew.

As one of the previous posters here wrote,I too am a conservative and a Christian. I also own firearms and took great offense to those remarks made to the San Francisco liberals during the campaign. Infer what you like, but I echo the late Charleton Heston who so heroically proclaimed: “From my cold dead hand!”

But I despair: What can we conservatives DO except watch as these treasonous “celebrities”, the treasonous elected officials, especially the treasonous media weaken our nation, at home and globally.

We can write to blogs like this one, we can speak out to our friends and those who believe as we do, but I’ve not yet been able to come even close to changing a single liberal’s point of view.

Not even that of my own much loved daughter. She is a bright, articulate, well educated young lady who grew up in a loving home, with traditional values taught by parents and grandparents who love their country. She’d never really been much interested in politics until this most recent election, and then something happened. She began listening to the creep’s speeches, his silly wife’s speeches, and the spin our much biased, liberal media gave his every utterance. Try as I might, I was unable to even crack her protective cocoon of balderdash! Making use logic and FACTS was of no use whatever. (By the way, these days, liberals never EVER allow facts to get in the way of their arguments, do they?)

Do liberals ever read history, I wonder. Have they ever read Thomas Paine, Patrick Henry, John Adams? These were the men who framed our Constitution and Bill of Rights, which among others, contains the Right to Bear Arms.

Would President (…jeez, it makes me sick to call him that) Osama, er, ah… Obama term these men as ignorant “clingers” to their faith and firearms? Probably, yes he would!

When an allegedly enlightened people can watch a clip of Obama clearly bowing to the Saudi King, and then accept the media spin that it was anything BUT a bow, we are in very deep trouble.

If he’s so left-wing, why is he bowing to a King?

I rather doubt that neither Mark nor Lenin would approve! And if he’s going to BOW, then why did he bow to the King of the nation from whom virtually ALL of the 9/11 attackers came? If he was in a BOWING frame of mind on that trip, why not BOW to the Queen of England? His silly wife was all touchy-feely, so why not cap it all off with a BOW, eh…?

This man’s entire agenda is so destructive, that I can not conceive of ANYONE wanting him anywhere close to Washington D.C. for another term in office, that is to say if this nation is still around in four years.

If I went on in this vein, I’d just be beating my gums, I’m afraid, so I’ll wrap it up.
