For those of you who don’t want CNN (and why bother unless you are a liberal. Anyway, the dumbing down of America, and those in charge of it continues. On the John King show, during an interview, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, the same one who wrote that “ring-wing extremist” vote which included returning home war veterens doesn’t exactly know much about illegal immigration.
NAPOLITANO: Well, you know, Sheriff Joe, he is being very political in that statement, because he knows that there aren’t enough law enforcement officers, courtrooms or jail cells in the world to do what he is saying.
What we have to do is target the real evil-doers in this business, the employers who consistently hire illegal labor, the human traffickers who are exploiting human misery.
And yes, when we find illegal workers, yes, appropriate action, some of which is criminal, most of that is civil, because crossing the border is not a crime per se. It is civil. But anyway, going after those as well.
Update: Now Napolitano is apparently pissing off Canada, accusing the country of allowing the muslim Saudi terrorists of allowing them into the US through their border!

In a liberal state (if you really can consider Rhode Island that), that has one of the highest a sales, income, AND property tax, in the country, the white, racist rednecks seem to have won at least one battle. Faced with a heavy outpouring of opposition from property owners, the City Council last night narrowly defeated a supplemental tax bill to wipe out a School Department deficit of $3.7 million. From The Call:
The vote paves the way for the School Committee to file a lawsuit against the city under the Caruolo Act, a move advocates of the supplemental tax bill contend will only deepen the School Department’s — and the city’s — financial problems. Caruolo gives school departments the power to file suit in Superior Court to compel their municipal counterparts to provide revenue to wipe out operating deficits, and the School Committee had vowed to vote in favor of such an action no later than tomorrow if the council balked at supplemental taxes.
After some five hours of discussion, at just about midnight, the council did just that, voting 4-3 against the measure. In the end, it was Councilwoman Suzanne Vadenais who tipped the balance. Early in the evening, she indicated a reluctant willingness to support supplemental taxes, but by the end of the night she had changed her mind.
“It was a very difficult decision,” she said. “After listening to all the people who spoke tonight, I can’t vote for this.”
Vadenais joined Councilors Stella Brien, Christopher Beauchamp and Roger G. Jalette Jr. in opposing the measure. Council President Leo T. Fontaine, William Schneck and John Ward were in favor of it.
The measure would have given the city authority to hike all classes of taxes — residential, business and business equipment — about 10 percent. The average homeowner would have paid roughly an extra $231 this fiscal year.
Though the hike would have been about the same on small businesses percentage-wise, they would have paid significantly more since they are already taxed at a higher rate.

Obama asks Congress to back IMF boost – US contribution to the fund to 100 billion dollars
Well so much for Hussein Obama “trimming the budget” by $100 million on Monday. Hussein Obama Monday asked Congress to back an expansion of an IMF emergency fund by 500 billion dollars in a move designed to expand its reach to big emerging market nations. According to Breitbart:
Obama also asked lawmakers to approve a US contribution to the fund to 100 billion dollars, as part of the plan to swell International Monetary Fund reserves agreed at this month’s Group of 20 summit in London. The president made the request in several letters to Democratic and Republican congressional leaders on Monday, pointing out that the fund did not require an extra financial outlay from the United States.
When Washington transfers funds to the IMF under the program, known as an expansion of the New Arrangements to Borrow (NAB), it would receive interest bearing assets in return, backed up by IMF resources including gold stocks.
“Our proposal to increase US participation in the NAB by up to 100 billion as part of an overall increase of 500 billion dollars was warmly endorsed by the G20 Leaders,” the letters said.

Jane Harman caught red handed! (This must be why so many democrats are against wiretaps)
Rep. Jane Harman (California Democrat) was apparently overheard on an NSA wiretap telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would lobby the Justice Department reduce espionage-related charges against two officials of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the most powerful pro-Israel organization in Washington. According to CQ Politics:
Harman was recorded saying she would “waddle into” the AIPAC case “if you think it’ll make a difference,” according to two former senior national security officials familiar with the NSA transcript.

Of course, you could probably guess what happened next. She gets booed mercifully by the liberal crowd. Perez Hilton responded by calling Carrie Prejean a “dumb b*tch”. Obama cuts the budget! a whole 0.0029% or $100 million
In a response to those “right wing extremists” at the April 15th tea parties, Obama Messiah has done it! He’s become fiscally conservative! </sarcasm>. After Porkulus, the 9000 earmark filled omnibush bill, and a nearly $4 TRILLION dollar budget, Obama has suddenly swung to the right. Obama has cut a a whopping 0.0029% of the budget or $100 million out of all the spending.

The government of the Northern Mariana Islands is applying for federal stimulus money that would go to foreign welfare recipients. The money would pay for food stamps and job training.
No tax increases for those making under $250,000 eh? Well, lets hope if you purchase anything over the internet, you make over $250,000 because the sales tax is going up!
All we heard from Hussein is how no one making under $250,000 will see their taxes increases. Earlier this month, those who buy cigarettes saw a big increase on their purchases. I assume not everyone who smokes makes that much. Now, if you buy anything over the internet a bill will reportedly be introduced on the Hill this week by GOP Sen. Mike Enzi, a Wyoming Republican, and Rep. Bill Delahunt, a Massachusetts Democrat, which will effectively impose Internet sales taxes and turn online retailers into tax collectors.

And now Hussein Obama is seen shaking hands with Hugo Chavez. The same Hugo Chavez that had crowds chant DEATH TO AMERICA, the same Chavez that called Booooooooosh the devil, the same Chavez that said Hussein is an ignoramus. Well, at least he didn’t bow this time.

The White House turned to an experienced former investment banker Friday to run the federal government’s $700 billion bank rescue effort, selecting the head of mortgage giant Fannie Mae as an assistant Treasury secretary. Herbert Allison Jr., Fannie Mae’s president and CEO, will replace Neel Kashkari, a holdover from the Bush administration. Allison, who must be confirmed by the Senate, would bear the title of assistant Treasury secretary for financial stability and counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
