Hussein Obama’s old stomping grounds Hawaii now has “National Islam Day” – Guess which month it will be celebrated in?

Frankly, I didn’t even know there many muslims in Hawaii for something like this to even be a part of the state’s concern, especially after Hussein Obama left it to goto college, but alas there is. Hawaii’s state Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill Wednesday to celebrate “Islam Day” _ over the objections of a few lawmakers who said they didn’t want to honor a religion connected to Sept. 11, 2001. The “National Islam Day” resolution to proclaim Sept. 24, 2009, as Islam Day passed the Hawaii state  Senate on a 22-3 vote. It had previously passed the House. According to CBS, the “National Islam Day” bill seeks to recognize “the rich religious, scientific, cultural and artistic contributions” that Islam and the Islamic world have made. It does not call for any spending or organized celebration of Islam Day. What exactly are the “rich religious, scientific, cultural and artistic contrubutions” to the State of Hawaii, much less the world? Beheadings and terrorist attacks?

    It is clear that some people do not understand how Muslims have contributed to the development of the modern world today. Without many of the discoveries made by Muslims we would not have advanced to where we are today. Muslims have contributed to the field of astronomy creating instruments and observations. They even created some of the first star catalogs and planetary tablets used by Copernicus. Beyond this, Muslims were the first to discover galaxies beyond our own.
    Muslims were leaders in geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and other mathematical fields. The works of Al-Khwarizmi laid the foundation for Algebra discovering things such as square roots and complex fractions. Chemistry also comes from Muslims. The known “father of Chemistry” was a Muslim man named Jabir ibn Hayyan. Other knowledge held by the Muslims was a great understanding of the earth. Muslims were of the first to recognize the earth as being a sphere rather than being a flat surface.
    In regards to medicine, Muslims also played a major role through the use of hospitals and the discovery of the immune system to name a few things.
    Fortunately, these are only a few of the contributions God first and then Muslims have made to the development of the world today.
