Our Country Is Littered With ‘Legacies’

So many in Congress have inflated egos. There is a highway in my state that bears the name of a long-time Congressman. Don’t know what he accomplished for the good of his state, but he left his name in a place that will guarantee he is never forgotten. How about your states? Are they littered with monuments to your Representatives and Senators? Have you ever wondered how these things came to be built? Was it because the men and women behind the famous names did such a good job of representing the best interests of their constituents–or was it because they were in Washington long enough to figure out how to use taxpayer’s money to enhance their own legacies? I mean, once their own nests have been sufficiently feathered, what is the next thing on the mind of a politician? Their legacy. Here is a clip that proves the timeliness of term limits:
