Graduating naval cadets asked to leave ceremonial swords at home due to Obama visit
Is Obama really that paranoid? Read this from the Washington Times:
Graduating midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis are being told in writing to leave at home or in their vehicles all “ceremonial swords” and anything else “that might be considered a weapon or a threat by screeners” for Friday’s outdoor commencement ceremonies featuring an address by President Barack Obama.
Inside the Beltway has obtained the academy’s list of prohibited items for this year’s graduation exercises, which, besides ceremonial swords, includes umbrellas.
Yes, cell phones and texting are still allowed.

Colin Powell is so disgusted at the Republican party, he will remain a Republican
And vote democrat, as long as Obama is in office. If you want to know what a RINO is (Republican in Name Only), you can look at someone like John McCain, the weakest canidate the GOP has run for President in decades. Others, like Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe, etc don’t even deserve the tag of being called a RINO. Colin Powell, whom I used to have the utmost respect for, and wanted him to run for President years ago is now in the Arlen Specter class as far as I’m concerned. Powell, who was on “Face the Nation” today touted his Republican credentials and urged his party to be more moderate and inclusive. As we all know, the Republicans who have been more moderate, such as John McCain have done so well. I would think someone like Colin Powell would quit being a coward already and just admit he supports Obama based on race alone. More from Fox News:

Oh BTW, how smart is Colin Powell? He claims to have voted for Lyndon Johnson AND Jimmy Carter. (Unless he confused Obama with the Peanut farmer).
Obama: Becoming the Great Disappointer to even liberals
John T. Simpson of Big Hollywood writes a story, which explains how millions of American liberals, gays and left wingers are starting to get fed up with Obama. How is this so? His approval ratings are still hovering around 60% you ask? Left wing loon sites such as DailyKos has had its users calling Obama a war criminal for continuing many of the Bush policies, not being able to just release Gitmo dirtbags, etc. How about gay rights? Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, wasn’t Obama against this? Obama was supposed to be a gay rights hero, yet he doesn’t agree with gay marriage, and his policy on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is no different from Bush’s or Clinton’s? Did Obama ever give his support to those who wanted to NO vote on California’s Prop 8? Nope. Taxing the evil rich? Even Obama slurper Whoopie Goldberg threw a tantrum on “The View” during a show because of taxes. I suppose thats all Bush’s fault too, and he could just take the blame.
Obama outsourcing torture of terrorists

The rise of the independant voter – aka no party affilation
All we hear about from the liberal biased mainstream media is how “Whoa, everyone is leaving the GOP in flocks!”. Well I hate to break to democrats, but you aren’t exactly holding on to your base either. Voters, increasingly fed up with both sides of the political spectrum. Independant voters as a percentage of people are higher than both republican and democrats, and at their highest levels since 1992.

Forgive me for my lack of sympathy for Nancy Pelosi. Regarding someone like Pelosi, NOTHING is below the belt.

Obama’s timing for things like this. Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend, so that no one in the news will pick this up. General Motors Corp on Friday borrowed another $4 billion from the U.S. Treasury and won a cost-cutting deal from Canadian auto workers as a showdown with bondholders set the stage for a bankruptcy filing by the end of the month. The latest $4 billion in “emergency funds” extended by the Obama administration take the total government funding to keep GM afloat since the start of the year to $19.4 billion, according to Yahoo.

Olbermann says Dick Cheney is as “insane as any terrorist”
Keith Overbite Olbermann has been around long. He was a sports caster back in the 80s here in Los Angeles, whom at the time I couldn’t stand (and I wasn’t concerned at all with poitics at the time). Then he moved to ESPN, and got worse. ESPN of course is biased, not in a liberal sort of way, but more in an east coast fashion, and most recently Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Anyway, back to Olbermann. The idiot has said a lot of dumb and disgusting things ever since his “sports casting days”. Moving the MSNBC and politics, he has fallen off the deep end, and thursday’s “Countdown” was no exception. Olbermann attacked former Vice President Dick Cheney that should make all liberals proud, as well as those who want to kill Americans.
Offshore Oil Suffers From Obama Restrictions on New Drilling
Remember $4-5 per gallon gas last summer? Well, if you liked it then, you may be in luck, as gas prices that high will probably be returning withing a couple of months again. Heres some info from a story at Fox News:
“If we don’t increase our own oil production in the U.S., our dependence on foreign oil won’t go down,” said Marathon Oil executive Woody Pace.
The drill ship is the size of a football field. Twelve anchors the size of an average living room hold the rig in place while a synthetic-diamond cutting blade bores deep into sand and rock.
Like other oil explorers, Marathon is being forced farther and farther out into the Gulf to find oil. Deeper water means more expensive oil.
“We may spend anywhere from $100 to $200 million just to find out if we have commercial hydrocarbons,” Marathon Vice President Annell Bay told FOX News.
