Dick Morris has a new column today. Here are the details:
In April, personal household, inflation-adjusted income rose by $122 billion. Of that increase, one-third or $44 billion came from the government’s stimulus program. But while personal income was rising, household savings (which includes paying down credit card balances, mortgages, student loans, car loans, etc) rose by $132 billion — $10 billion more than the rise in income. So personal consumption dropped 0.1%.
The stimulus package was a total and complete failure. As predicted, as happened with Bush’s 2008 tax cut, as happened with the Japanese stimulus packages of the 90s, fearful consumers sat on their money and wouldn’t spend it. Keynesian economics didn’t work. Again.

In an interview with Laura Haim on Canal Plus, a French television station, Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” He sought to downplay the expectations of the speech, but he said he hoped the address would raise awareness about Muslims.
Slowly but surely, Obama’s muslim faith becomes more and more apparent. Maybe Obama is refering to the four muslims accused of plotting terrorist attacks on U.S. military planes and a Bronx synagogue in the Bronx, who were indicted on federal charges today.

Stupid! highly confidential report reveals location of nuke sites – now public!
The federal government mistakenly made public a 266-page report, its pages marked “highly confidential,” that gives detailed information about hundreds of the nation’s civilian nuclear sites and programs, including maps showing the precise locations of stockpiles of fuel for nuclear weapons. According to of all places, the New York Times, the publication of the document was revealed Monday in an online newsletter devoted to issues of federal secrecy. That set off a debate among nuclear experts about what dangers, if any, the disclosures posed. It also prompted a flurry of investigations in Washington into why the document had been made public. On Tuesday evening, after inquiries from The New York Times, the document was withdrawn from a Government Printing Office Web site. So let me see if I get this straight:

The Emergence of Obama’s Muslim Roots
Jake Tapper, one of the few remaining, somewhat fair journalists has an interesting article exposing Obama and his “Muslim Faith”. Jake Tapper and Sunlen Miller report that the other day they heard a comment from a White House aide that never would have been uttered during the primaries or general election campaign.
During a conference call in preparation for President Obama’s trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said “the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to — or before he’s been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world — you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father — obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago.”

Project Vote is barred by law from political campaigning. Also Michelle Malkin has an e-mail with ACORN lead official Nathan Henderson-James. The e-mail is addressed to his “colleagues” aka editors and writers for the Left’s leading blogs, including Ezra Klein and Greg Sargent who now work for the Washington Post (what a coincidence).
Obama: Iran has the right to have nuclear energy!

Obama told the BBC in an interview broadcast Tuesday that he believes “Iran has legitimate energy concerns, legitimate aspirations,” adding that the international community also “has a very real interest” in preventing a nuclear arms race.
The interview comes on the heels of Obama’s most important trip of his fledgling presidency, a face-to-face encounter with the Muslim world. Obama’s five-day pilgrimage to Egypt this week culminates with a long-promised speech on U.S. relations with the Muslim world.
With that, some speculation is swirling that the U.S. effort to reach Muslims is accompanied by its distancing itself from Israel, which is under pressure by the Obama administration to freeze its settlements in the West Bank.
Obama’s speech aims to help repair a strained relationship between the United States and the Muslim world that is critical to pressuring Iran to halt its uranium enrichment program, which the international community fears is a cover for building a nuclear bomb.

According to the new book, Renegade: The Making of a President, Barack Obama held a secret meeting with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright towards the end of the 2008 presidential primary season. The goal according to Political Wire was to get Wright to end his media appearances which were believed to be hurting Obama in the battleground states of North Carolina and Indiana.
