Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threatening protestors in Iran
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sternly warned, aka threatened the of a crackdown if Iranian protesters continue days of massive street rallies, escalating the government’s showdown with demonstrators demanding a new presidential election. According to the AP, even with Obama’s tepid response to the protestors, even praising the Supreme Leader at one point, Khamenei wasn’t impressed:
Saying Obama’s statements contradicted the president’s stated goal of opening dialogue with Iran and the conciliatory tone of other recent American messages.
“The U.S. president said ‘We were waiting for a day like this to see people on the street,’” Khamenei said. “They write to us and say they respect the Islamic Republic and then they make comments like this … which one should we believe?
Olive Garden not buying any more adtime on perv Letterman’s show!
Hotair.com has received e-mails in from Olive Garden and Unilever, the parent company of Hellmans/Best Foods, through John. The Olive Garden e-mail strongly suggests that the company had decided not to buy any more advertising. This is Olive Garden’s reponse:
Dear [customer]:
Thank you for expressing your concerns about Olive Garden and allowing us an opportunity to respond.
We understand your concern about Mr. Letterman’s inappropriate comments. Olive Garden screens network television programs whenever possible. There will be no more Olive Garden ads scheduled for The Late Show with David Letterman in this year’s broadcast schedule.
We have not yet finalized next year’s advertising plan but will consider our valued guests’ opinions when doing so.
Again, thank you for contacting us with your comments, and we hope you will continue to think of Olive Garden as a place to visit with your family and friends.
The Obamacare Horror Story You Won’t Hear: White House, Democrats and MoveOn liberals
Michelle Malkin’s latest syndicated column explains the truth about “ObamaCare” that you wouldn’t hear anywhere from the liberal biased MSM, the MoveOn.org libs, or other democrats.
Judge to review Cheney interview in CIA leak case
According to Chicago Public Radio/AP – A federal judge said Thursday that he wants to look at notes from the FBI’s interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney during the investigation into who leaked the identity of a CIA operative.
U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan’s decision to review the documents followed arguments by Obama administration lawyers that sounded much like the reasons the Bush administration provided for keeping Cheney’s interview from the public.
Justice Department lawyers told the judge that future presidents and vice presidents may not cooperate with criminal investigations if they know what they say could become available to their political opponents and late-night comics who would ridicule them.
“If we become a fact-finder for political enemies, they aren’t going to cooperate,” Justice Department attorney Jeffrey Smith said during a 90-minute hearing. “I don’t want a future vice president to say, `I’m not going to cooperate with you because I don’t want to be fodder for ‘The Daily Show.’”
NBC’s Tom Brokaw Appointed to Commission on White House Fellowships
Yesterday, Obama appointed 28 members to the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships. According to the White House Press released posted at Media Bistro/FishbowlDC, This accomplished group of citizens representing a broad range of backgrounds, interests, and professions are responsible for recommending a group of exceptional men and women to the President for selection as White House Fellows. The commission will be chaired by John Phillips, a partner at Phillips and Cohen Law Firm. Cheryl Dorsey, President of Echoing Green, will vice-chair the commission. One odd or maybe not so odd considering the NBC/GE/Obama triangle was that one of the 28 members is none other than NBC’s Tom Brokaw.
Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Mousavi’s “external spokesman” has sharp words for Obama
Obama who has said that there is no difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi seems to have touched a nerve with the Mousavi camp. According to the Weekly Standard, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, described as Mir Hussein Mousavi’s “external spokesman,” had some sharp words for Obama’s recent comments about the demonstrations in Tehran. But Makhmalbaf also said some things that could make it even more difficult for Obama to passive, pro-stability approach to the ongoing struggle for power in Iran.
FP: There has been growing criticism here in Washington that U.S. President Barack Obama hasn’t said or done enough to support those demonstrating in the streets of Iran. Do you think Obama is being too careful? Or even that he is helping Ahmadinejad by being cautious?
MM: Obama has said that there is no difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi. Does he like it himself [when someone is] saying that there is no difference between Obama and [George W.] Bush? Ahmadinejad is the Bush of Iran. And Mousavi is the Obama of Iran.
Also, according to Yid With Lid, quite possibly my favorite columnist Charles Krauthammer agrees:
….This revolution will end either as a Tiananmen (a hot Tiananmen with massive and bloody repression or a cold Tiananmen with a finer mix of brutality and co-optation) or as a true revolution that brings down the Islamic Republic.
The latter is improbable but, for the first time in 30 years, not impossible. Imagine the repercussions. It would mark a decisive blow to Islamist radicalism, of which Iran today is not just standard-bearer and model, but financier and arms supplier. It would do to Islamism what the collapse of the Soviet Union did to communism — leave it forever spent and discredited.

9/11 families met with DOJ – not exactly pleased with discussion or results
As the Obama admin’s DOJ continues to fumble on about preaching the closure of Gitmo, Families of the 9/11 victims. including Melissa Long met with the DOJ today. Melissa Long writes about who she learned a lot about what Obama is doing and what he has the members of the task forces working on. After doing her research and listening to the others present today she does not believe that there is a valid reason to close Guantanamo Bay. I agree with her. There is no valid reason. Aside from sending these terrorists off to Bemurda so they can swim around and eat ice cream on our tax dollars, whats the point?
Rep. Michele Bachmann vows not to complete 2010 census #tcot #sgp #hhrs
Worried that your personal information gathered and abused from the ACORN influenced 2010 census? You are not alone. According to this Washington Times exclusives, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota says she’s so worried that information from next year’s national census will be abused that she will refuse to fill out anything more than the number of people in her household.
In an interview Wednesday morning with The Washington Times “America’s Morning News,” Mrs. Bachmann, Minnesota Republican, said the questions have become “very intricate, very personal” and she also fears ACORN, the community organizing group that came under fire for its voter registration efforts last year, will be part of the Census Bureau’s door-to-door information collection efforts.
Wow! I guess Walpin wasn’t Obama’s only Inspector General firing
The Chicago Tribune reports that it isn’t just Walpin’s firing over which Senator Grassley wants some answers. Grassley, like others who aren’t slurping Obama, or bowing to him are begining to notice a pattern. According to Riehl World View, there as no fewer than three IG’s have recently been fired, all while investigating so-called sensitive issues. Michelle Malkin’s syndicated column yesterday has info on Walpin.
The dispute comes as Grassley, ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is looking into the abrupt firings within the last week of two other inspectors general one of whom was fired by the White House and the other by the chair of the International Trade Commission.
Both inspectors general had investigated sensitive subjects at the time of their firings.
Grassley is now concerned about whether a pattern is emerging in which the independence of the government’s top watchdogs — whose jobs were authorized by Congress to look out for waste, fraud and abuse — is being put at risk.
One of the other IGs is Neil Barofsky, tasked with watching over the financial stimulus spending. The article raises questions as to whether or not the Obama administration is trying to stymie an investigation with dubious claims of attorney-client privilege.
He was appointed with fanfare as the public watchdog over the government’s multi-billion dollar bailout of the nation’s financial system. But now Neil Barofsky is embroiled in a dispute with the Obama administration that delayed one recent inquiry and sparked questions about his ability to freely investigate.
The disagreement stems from a claim by the Treasury Department that Barofsky is not entirely independent of the agency he is assigned to examine – a claim that has prompted a stern letter from a Republican senator warning that agency officials are encroaching on the integrity of an office created to protect taxpayers.
Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, sent the letter Wednesday to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner demanding information about a “dispute over certain Treasury documents” that he said were being “withheld” from Barofsky’s office on a “specious claim of attorney-client privilege.” More from Riehl World View:
The third instance involves an acting IG for the International Trade Commission, Judith Gwynne, who has been told her contract would not be renewed amid allegations that an ITC employee forcibly took documents from her possession. Just three hours after Grassley sent along his letter asking questions, she was told she’d be hitting the road in July when her contract is up. Well, well, well.
John Kerry: Lets not stick up for the people of Iran – if you do, you are a neocon!
So now, according to John Kerry, anyone who urges Obama to speak up for the people of Iran, in this rigged election are considered NeoCons? Thats what he said in his New York times op-ed.
Obama WH latest excuse for illegal firing of Walpin: “confused” & “disoriented” Glenn Beck gives Walpin a “senility test”
Obama’s removal a government inspector general Gerald Walpin has a new twist. The Obama White House is now claiming that Walpin was “confused” and “disoriented” at a meeting last month, the White House said in a letter to Congress Tuesday night. So today, on the Glenn Beck show, Beck decided to give Walin a “senility” test. Seems like Walpin is fine to me. I wonder, has Obama confused himself with Walpin, and is Obama the one who is really “confused and disoriented”?
Obama/Congressional democrats overspending may block ObamaCARE
Dick Morris’s latest column explains why the out of control Obama/Democrat spending may block the chances of ObamaCARE being passed:
To quote the esteemed Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the chickens that were hatched in the stimulus package are coming home to roost in the healthcare proposal. The budget deficit Obama racked up paying for the massive federal spending passed in January is now having a real economic and political impact, which is forcing the president and his congressional allies into hard choices as they face his healthcare legislation.
Of course, the prudent thing to do is postpone healthcare changes until the economy generates some revenues and trims the deficit. But the socialist in the White House can’t do that. He’s got to strike while his congressional majority is hot. So he is forcing his administration and his party to choose among unpalatable choices to finance his program. His demand may be a bridge too far, endangering his popularity with the American people.
First of all, the very fact of a focus on healthcare reform inevitably stirs discussion of the deficit. Americans are allergic to deficit spending and worry the more the deficit grows. As interest rates rise and the government finds it more and more difficult to borrow enough to cover Obama’s massive spending, the economy is likely to show the negative effects. It is a matter of a few months, certainly no more, before voters start to realize that it is the deficit, not the pre-existing conditions Obama inherited, which is causing the prolongation of the recession. Already the jump in mortgage rates has slowed the refinancing, which was the only aspect of the Obama economic program that was working well.
Obama kills a fly, PETA members cry
Look, I’m an animal lover, and kinda almost as loony as PETA when it comes to “animal’s rights”, but this is beyond insane. While Obama took his time to whine on CNBC yesterday about Fox News, he killed a fly. TMZ has the info:
When asked for comment, here’s the statement PETA released:
“He isn’t the Buddha, he’s a human being and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act.”
Iran declares war on the internet / Blames US for meddling
I wonder what took so long? After Obama timidly answered questions the other day about “not wanting to meddle” in Iran’s affairs of the election, and not standing up for the Iranian people, rather “praising” Iran’s Supreme Leader for “investigating certain counties” for voter fraud, Iran has done what I expected, and accused the United States of “intolerable” meddling in its internal affairs. Iran is alleging that Washington has fueled a bitter post election dispute, according to Yahoo.
Iran’s Soccer/Football team shows their support for Mir-Hossein Mousavi / protest against rigged election
At least five Iranian football players wore green bands around their wrists or arms during a World Cup qualifying match against South Korea on Wednesday in an apparent protest against a disputed election at home, according to the Jerusalem post:
The players, including captain Mehdi Mahdavikia, wore green – the signature color of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi – in an apparent show of support. Protesters at home who accuse the government of rigging Iran’s June 12 election in favor of hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have been wearing similar green wristbands.
One player, Ali Karimi, had green bands wrapped around both wrists.
White House Health Reform Communications Director is Former ABC News Correspondent
Ah… So this explains it. Why ABC is providing Obama with an 1 hour free infomercial for this socialized health care propaganda. Media Bistro provides the info and details:
It turns out the Director of Communications for the White House Office of Health Reform, since last month, is former ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass, who left journalism last year to join the Obama campaign. This is leading some to wonder whether ABC News had the upper hand in landing the president for the primetime special as well as an interview on GMA and allowing two ABC News broadcasts to originate from the White House next week. An ABC News spokesperson, however, says there’s no connection between Douglass and ABC’s access. The network approached the administration days after the inauguration and pitched the idea of a White House town hall meeting, says the spokesperson.
Hey All Barack Channel, why not include ABC 20/20 anchor John Stossel in the health care propganda program? You want “thoughtful” and “diverse” voices, don’t you ABC?
Ed Schultz of MSNBC calls Sarah Palin ‘Nothing But Political Slime’
Should I really be surprised that this fat blimp Schultz (or anyone at MSNBC for that matter) would stir the pot yet again. Of course, Schultz is probably mearly bitter his show is a complete and utter failure, and his total ratings can’t even get as high as O’reilly or Hannity’s 25-54 demographic total.
Call your House reps and congratulate them on approving $108 BILLION for foreign bailout
Spreading that wealth around has reached a new level today, as the House of Represenatives passed a bill that will give more than $10 billion in development and security aid for Pakistan and Iraq as well as countries such as Mexico and the nation of Georgia. which will total about $108 BILLION dollars, our tax money will pay for. The vote was 226-202, with five Republicans voting for the bill and 32 Democrats opposing it.
PeaNUTS Jimmy Carter wants Hamas removed from State Department’s terror list
Its just Jimmy being Jimmy. A complete and utter moron, just as he was as POTUS during the disco days. Carter says that he will ask Obama to remove the militant Palestinian group Hamas from the U.S.-designated terror list, just as Hamas says it foiled a bomb plot against Carter. Jimmy goes on to say that Hamas’s leaders “want peace,”. Ok. try and exhale a bit after your laughter.
