Yes we HCAN! Debby Smith is quite the “randomly picked” person to question, as you will read below. As Valerie Jarret said to kick off the so called “townhall”,
“I want to emphasize that the President has not seen the questions ahead of time.”
As Michelle Malkin’s syndicated column explains, the so called townhall conducted by Obama this week for ObamaCARE, included such “impartial” observers as Jason Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum works for the Washington, D.C.-based Health Care for America Now (HCAN). HCAN is the one with a $40 million budget to lobby for government-run health care. The one inextricably linked to left-wing billionaire George Soros. Another one of the three, questioners at the White House forum identified herself as a member of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). But possibly the biggest joke of the so called town hall was when Obama picked Debby Smith from the crowd to tell her personal health care horror story. As she put on an oscar award winning performance, choking back tears as she talked of her battle with kidney cancer, her joblessness, and her lack of insurance. Obama hugged the trembling woman and dubbed her “Exhibit A” for his massive entitlement program. Debby Smith is not some ordinary random person who just happens to need health care. This is the same Debby Smith that has been rather busy working for the Obama campaign – as a volunteer for Organizing for America. It’s the old Obama for Change political machine now housed under the Democratic National Committee. Debby Smith has also identified herself as a worker for the Virginia Organizing Project, which has been coordinating lobbying trips and health care forums with HCAN. Yes, that same HCAN.
Manuel Zelaya calls for “strong action” from the US to help him return to power in Honduras
Deposed Honduran President Manuel Zelaya said he’s plotting his return to the Central American nation and called for “strong” action from the U.S. to help restore him to power, according to Bloomberg. Oh and BTW, i bet you didn’t hear this anywhere in the wonderful LMSM, but did you know that the U.S. has suspended some aid to Honduras while it “evaluates” whether the removal of Zelaya meets the definition of a military coup under American law.

The average job loss per month is 4000 per Obama?
Do democrats have problems with math? Nancy Pelosi claimed America would lose 500 MILLION jobs without the Stimulus bill. Which is pretty good considering there are about 300 million total in population in the country. Today, Obama pimping his Crap and Tax proposal yet again proclaimed the following:

He didn’t write this. He SAID this during his propoganda speech on TV. Problems with math? We lost 467,000 jobs in June, which is far above 4,000 per month this quarter.

Cash for Access? Washington Post publisher Katharine Weymouth said today she was cancelling plans for an exclusive “salon” at her home where for as much as $250,000. These “salons” were what the Washington Post offered lobbyists and association executives off-the-record access to “those powerful few” — Obama administration officials, members of Congress, and even the paper’s own reporters and editors. Turns out the jobs cut for June was a little lower than Bloomberg’s posted estimated yesterday of 473,000, but still larger than expected at 467,000 jobs, driving the unemployment rate up to a 26-year high of 9.5 percent. Congrats to you Obama/Biden/Democrats and your stimulus!

Chip Reid and old witch Helen Thomas destroy Robert Gibbs for “controlled” Town Hall Meetings
“CBS’ Chip Reid and Helen Thomas double teamed Robert Gibbs today at the daily press briefing on the “tightly controlled” town hall meeting Obama held on health care. Gibbs kept saying lets have this discussion AFTER the meeting. Helen Thomas accused the White House of “controlling the press.” She said almost all White House/Obama events are “prepackaged.” She accused the White House of not “having any answers.”

After the press briefing, Helen Thomas told this to CNSNEWS:
“Nixon didn’t try to do that,” Thomas said. “They couldn’t control (the media). They didn’t try.
“What the hell do they think we are, puppets?” Thomas said. “They’re supposed to stay out of our business. They are our public servants. We pay them.”
Thomas said she was especially concerned about the arrangement between the Obama Administration and a writer from the liberal Huffington Post Web site. The writer was invited by the White House to President Obama’s press conference last week on the understanding that he would ask Obama a question about Iran from among questions that had been sent to him by people in Iran.
“When you call the reporter the night before you know damn well what they are going to ask to control you,” Thomas said.
“I’m not saying there has never been managed news before, but this is carried to fare-thee-well–for the town halls, for the press conferences,” she said. “It’s blatant. They don’t give a damn if you know it or not. They ought to be hanging their heads in shame.”

Jim Inhofe, who earlier said a criminal investigation “probably should be’’ conducted into allegations the EPA suppressed a climate change report, conceded Tuesday he is not qualified to make that determination.
“I have no way of knowing,’’ the Oklahoma Republican said.
Inhofe, however, stood by his prediction that a historic climate change bill narrowly approved by the House last week faces certain defeat in the Senate.
“It’s dead in the water,’’ he said.
I don’t buy it for a minute. The senate is just as liberal and corrupt as the house. You have another vote from the loonybin franken, and at least 3 RINOs (McCain, Snowe, Collins) who are pretty much forgone conclusion YES votes. Why would this bill be dead in the water? BTW, [Section Reserved]?
Mousavi declares Iran government illegitimate
I guess Mousavi hasn’t been arrested like some of the rumors going around said he was. According to this from The Independant (UK):
Defeated Iranian presidential candidate Mirhossein Mousavi today said the new government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was “illegitimate,” in a statement posted on his website.
“It is our historical responsibility to continue our protests and not to abandon our efforts to preserve the nation’s rights,” he said, two days after Iran’s top legislative body confirmed Ahmadinejad’s election victory.
Mousavi, who has repeatedly said the June 12 vote was rigged, said he would join a planned association of leading figures which would follow up people’s rights and “ignored votes” in the election.
Its demands would include “halting security and military confrontation with the election, returning the country to a natural political atmosphere, reforming the election law to prevent vote rigging, securing freedom of holding rallies and freedom of press,” the statement said.
Barney Frank wants to use TARP income for housing
House Financial Services Committee Chairman and Banking Queen Barney Frank has a plan to funnel income from the government’s $700 billion bailout fund toward the housing sector, according to Nasdaq:
The powerful Massachusetts Democrat last week quietly introduced legislation that aims to use $1 billion in dividends paid by the recipients of government aid to provide rental housing opportunities for low-income and homeless families. The money would go into a national housing trust fund established last summer in connection with legislation that allowed for Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE) to be placed under government conservatorship.
The fund currently is empty, however President Barack Obama’s fiscal year 2010 budget calls for it to receive $ 1 billion – a sum the Frank legislation would provide.
“This would be the seed money to get the trust fund up and running,” said Danna Fischer, legislative director for the National Low Income Housing Coalition.
