$18,000,000 to redesign website that oversees stimulus spending (Recovery.gov)

Your tax dollars at work yet again. According to ABC, for those concerned about stimulus spending, the General Services Administration sends word tonight that $18 million in additional funds are being spent to redesign the Recovery.gov Web site. The new Web site promises to give taxpayers more information about where their money is going than the current version of the site.

$18 MILLION dollars to design a government website. Now thats stimulus we need! (at least for the company getting the $18 million).

John Ensign’s PARENTS pay off $96,000 to mistress/her husband

Another republican who just can’t stop emulating the democrats has had more dirty laundry expose. Nevada Republican Senator John Ensign enlisted his parents to pay off his mistress/former campaign staffer and her husband/former intimate family friend/Senate employee to the tune of $96,000. Using your parents to pay off people at his age? Downright pathetic (for anyone).

White House press corps sworn to secrecy to not mention secret 4th of July BBQ at White House

Hmm.. Now why exactly does a BBQ at the White House on the 4th of July need to be keep a secret? According to Gawker, reporters from roughly 30 television networks, newspapers, magazines, and web sites celebrated the Fourth of July with Barack Obama at the White House last weekend. Why didn’t you know that? Because they were sworn to secrecy.

Nothing wrong with a July 4th BBQ, so why be so secret about it? Do Obama and his slurpers in the press have something to hide?

Gawker has also  learned that the White House gave tickets to virtually every major news organization that covers the president—the New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, Time, ABC News, NBC News, CNN, CBS News, and so on, about 30 in all. The reporters were invited to attend on the following condition:

“You are being invited to attend this event as a guest. Blogging, Twittering or otherwise reporting on this event is not permitted. If you feel that you cannot agree to abide by these ground rules, please don’t claim a ticket.”

Most transparent adminstration ever!

Nationwide protests against cap-and-tax and socialized medicine scheduled for July 17

Michelle Malkin was on Fox and Friends this morning talking about the Tea Party movement’s next steps. The next step is a nationwide round of protests against cap-and-tax and socialized medicine is scheduled for July 17. In anticipation of the July 17th protests, Soros’s, MoveOn.org is organized its own series of rallies in favor Obamacare — but they were met and matched by counterprotesters who mobilized at the last minute to make their voices heard.

How low can he go? Obama now at -8 in Rasmussen poll

rass-pi-070909

A new low for Obama! Not in his marxist policies or ignoring the cries of the Iranian people, but in the polls. Now only 30% of those poll “strongly approve” of the job Obama is going, while 38% strongly disapprove. This is the lowest strongly approve and highest strongly disaproval rates to date. Thirty-nine percent (39%) now give the President good or excellent marks for handling the economy while 43% say he is doing a poor job. Those are by far his lowest ratings yet on the economy. Overall, 51% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance so far. Forty-eight percent (48%) now disapprove.

Also, according to Politico, Independent voters have begun rejecting the big-spending programs of Barack Obama, especially as they show little. That means trouble for Obama in swing states that he carried relatively easily just eight months ago.

Cap and Trade delayed in the senate until after the August recess! Also the farce of Crap and Tax revealed

Great work to all of you who burned up the phone lines, sent your e-mail and faxes, and wrote letters to your congress people. The battle isn’t won yet, but you are making a difference. More from the Washington Post:

President Barack Obama’s push for quick action by Congress on climate change legislation suffered a setback on Thursday when the U.S. Senate committee leading the drive delayed work on the bill until September.

Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer said her self-imposed deadline of early August for finishing writing a bill to combat global warming has been put off until after Congress returns from a recess that ends in early September.

“We’ll do it as soon as we get back” from that break, Boxer told reporters. Asked if this delay jeopardizes chances the Senate will pass a bill this year, Boxer said, “Not a bit … we’ll be in (session) until Christmas, so I’m not worried about it.”

But Boxer did not guarantee Congress will be able to finish a bill and deliver it to Obama by December, when he plans to attend an international summit on climate change in Copenhagen.

“I want to take this as far as we can take it (before Copenhagen). The more we do the better,” Boxer said.

And if you need anymore proof as to what a farce Cap and Trade, a press release from the EPW even states:

is During a hearing today in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, EPA Administrator Jackson confirmed an EPA analysis showing that unilateral U.S. action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions would have no effect on climate.

Bill O’Reilly – a trending topic on Twitter for “Anti-Michael Jackson Memorial Coverage” aka “racist” rants

The video:

Now, someone tell me, what exactly O’Reilly said wrong here? And also what exactly did he say that was “racist” as now the left wing loons, and rabid fans of Jacko are now clamining?

Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) – If Congress people actually read the ObamaCARE bill very few would vote for it

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Tuesday to CNSNEWS that the health-care reform bill aka ObamCARE now pending in Congress would garner very few votes if lawmakers actually had to read the entire bill before voting on it. Wow. What a novel concept. More from CNSNEWS:

The AP finally learns math, and learns their Messiah Obama isn’t truthful about taxes

Liberals aren’t very good at math, that much is certain. Nancy Pelosi, with her statements about us losing 500 million jobs, when about 300 million live in the country, Joe Biden stating that Jobs is a 3 letter word, etc. But now even the Obama slurping press is starting to learn some basic math. We aren’t talking NBC or the New York Times yet, as they are certainly the slowest, but the AP who are quite the Obama slurpers themselves are discovering that Obama’s BS about not raising taxes on those making under $250,000, especially with ObamaCARE are unrealistic. Uhh… ya think?

Waxman: GOP and those against the Cap and Trade bill are anti-american

Henry WaxmanRep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), believes House Republican opposition to climate change legislation and the stimulus indicates they’re cheering against the good ol’ US of A. According to Politico:

“It appears that the Republican Party leadership in the Congress has made a decision that they want to deny President Obama success, which means, in my mind, they are rooting against the country, as well,” the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee
chairman told WAMU radio host Diane Rehm on Tuesday morning, promoting his new book, “The Waxman Report.”

Still, he said that one House Republican leader, speaking to him after the climate change squeaker, predicted that “a lot” of GOP-ers would vote for the (presumably) weakened bill when it emerges from the Senate.

Slip slidin’ away – Obama hits new low (in polling, not life)

Slip sliddin’ away. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday July 8th, shows that 32% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –5. Obama is now at his strongest “Strongly Disaprove rate” since becoming president, his highest difference in the negative of Strongy Approve/Disaprove, and his lowest approval rating overall of 52%.

The failures of ‘stimulus’ 1 revealed

Michelle Malkin has uploaded two documents for you to read. The first is a GAO report on stimulus spending by states and localities, which will be released this morning at a House oversight hearing. As you will see by reading the document, the porkulus funds ARE NOT being spent on what they’re supposed to be spent on. States made up their own criteria for spending. School and transportation bureaucrats preserved their own jobs instead of “stimulating” others.

The second document is a GOP memo dissecting the failures of the ‘stimulus’

As Obama said: NO BODY MESSES WITH JOE BIDEN

The Federal Insurance Czar would make 33 czars in total

CNS News reports that a Health care overhaul legislation from President Barack Obama’s congressional allies would create a federal insurance czar with sweeping new powers to oversee medical plans nationwide, an idea already drawing fierce criticism. That would bring the total number of “czars” in this administration to 33. More from CNS News:\

Did you know Michael Jackson made Barack Obama president? Al Sharpton says so, so it must be true!

Wow, i didn’t realize how power Michael Jackson really was! Michael Jackson made Barack Obama president? Did you know that? Sharpton says so according to Politico:

“It was Michael Jackson that brought blacks and whites and Asians and Latinos together. It was Michael Jackson that made us sing ‘we are the world,’” said Sharpton.
“It was that comfort level that kids from Japan and Ghana and France and Iowa and Pennsylvania got comfortable enough with each other so later it wasn’t strange to us to watch Oprah on television,” the reverend continued. “Those young kids grew up from being teenage comfortable fans of Michael to being 40 years old and being comfortable to vote for a person of color to be the president of the United States of America.”

“Michael did that,” Sharpton said. “Michael made us love each other.”

Al Gore compares the battle against global warming to battle with Nazis

Did you know the battle against global warming is as big of a deal as the battle against the nazis? Al Gore says its say, so it must be true (i still can’t believe i voted for this dope in 2000). Despite being sued by some 30,000 or so scientists for his fraudulent global warming claims, Gore keeps opening his trap, as per Times Online UK:

Speaking in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment , sponsored by The Times, Mr Gore said: “Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilisation in World War II.”

He added: “We have everything we need except political will but political will is a renewable resource.”

Mr Gore admitted that it was difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change was as urgent as the threat from Nazi Germany.

“The level of awareness and concern among populations has not crossed the threshold where political leaders feel that they must change.

“The only way politicians will act is if awareness raises to a level to make them feel that it’s a necessity.”

Update: The Times of London has mysteriously removed all mention of the Nazis from the story and changed the headline to: “Al Gore invokes spirit of Churchill in battle against climate change.” Who got the Times UK? Did Algore send his SUV to England and threaten the paper?

How the democrats are planning on paying for socialized healthcare: a national sales tax, taxing soda and a “surtax” on people making over $250,000.

By the end of this week, House Democrats may have answered the biggest question looming in the socialized healthcare debate – how they plan to pay for their socialization. According to The Hill:

Leadership aides stress that no final decision has been made on how to pay the tab. The Democrats on Rangel’s committee will hold a marathon meeting all day Tuesday where healthcare and the “pay-for,” as it’s called, are sure to come up.

A large portion is expected to come from reductions in Medicare and Medicaid. But that won’t pay for the full overhaul. As for raising money, ideas have included a national sales tax, taxing soda and a “surtax” on people making more than $250,000.

In addition to that, House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.), Caucus Chairman John Larson (D-Conn.) and Vice-chair Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) will hold six “listening sessions” that break rank-and-file members out by region. The three leaders will take concerns and ideas from the sessions’ members back to the leadership in preparation for markup next week.

Sarah Palin targeting a senate run in 2010?

Reacting to Gov. Sarah Palin’s stunning resignation announcement Friday, political analyst and best-selling author of the Dick Morris said that vice presidential candidate is Sarah Palin is likely freeing herself up for a run for the U.S. Senate in 2010 or the presidency in 2012. However, Dick Morris who wrote a Newsmax column  said he would not have advised Palin to resign in the middle of her term. It opens her up to charges that she is a quitter and reinforces an image of her as “flaky” in the state run media. Morris declined to speculate what effect this could have on the GOP, which he said should be focusing on stopping President Barack Obama’s policies in healthcare and other areas. Palin is a formidable figure, he said, and if the GOP mounts a strong defense against Obama she’ll be one of many promising candidates in 2012.

South Carolina GOP votes to censure love gov Mark Sanford

According to Palmetto Scoop:

After a nearly four-hour teleconference call, the South Carolina Republican Party and Chairman Karen Floyd chose to censure Gov. Mark Sanford for “demonstrating repeated failures to act in accordance with … core [Republican] principles and beliefs” and “breaching the public’s trust and confidence.”
But the party stopped short of calling on Sanford to resign, something the governor said he appreciated.

“The events of the past two weeks have been as divisive as they have been disappointing for Republicans,” Floyd said, referring to the governor’s recent disappearance and revelations of an Argentinian affair. “But today has brought a large measure of resolution to a sad chapter in our State Party’s history.”

The formal reprimand came after four rounds of emotional voting in which members of the SCGOP executive committee made their case for or against Sanford.

In the end, 22 voted to censure Sanford, 10 thought he should resign, and nine supported no action against the governor.

Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat-R.I – 2nd Stimulus probably needed

Because the first stimulus has worked so well, has it not? Today on “Top Line,” Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat-R.I., said a second stimulus is “probably needed,” and predicted that Congress is likely to act before the end of the year to inject even more federal dollars into the economy.
