The democrats new plan to evade constituent accountability – town halls at children’s hospitals!

Heres a new way for Democrats to avoid the “mobs” and “well dressed constituents”. Today I heard Claire McCaskill is now pre-screening those who attend her future town halls, and now Vic Snyder is heading to a children’s hospital. From the Examiner:

Just called Arkansas Children’s Hospital 501-364-1100 to confirm and get details. Vic Snyder will have a townhall meeting at 1pm at the Chairman’s Hall in the Sturgis Building Wednesday 080509. I asked them about the radio announcement stating the meeting was at 2pm. Bonnie from Arkansas Children’s Hospital stated that it was a 2pm and that it has been changed to 1pm. I also confirmed that the event would be open to the public. It has been recommended that people not go to protest in anger due to the fact that there will be ill children and their families at the hospital. Snyder decided to hide in a hosptial when he realized that he would face angry constituents. This is the same Snyder who accused his fellow U.S. Representatives from Arkansas of being afraid of him for not agreeing to an AETN debate that nobody would watch

I live in Arkansas and have been fighting as hard as I can from my home trying to find out exactly where our so-called representatives are! I have tried to find a health care town hall meeting to attend; however, it appears there was one at AR Children’s Hospital today without any sort of announcement! They may hide and longer they do…the worse election day will be for them! By the way, I planned to drive my own car…seems “the bus” is not available! Oh yeah…ACORN still has it!

I had the same experience. I’ve been in search of these public appearances in the state and can find nothing about them. I even email Sen. Lincoln’s office requesting any sort of schedule that she might have for public appearances – never received any response whatsoever.

Can’t wait for 2010. I’d vote for Mosi, the baby gorilla at the Little Rock Zoo, for office before pulling the lever for these clowns. Time for Snyder to go anyway – he’s been there long enough!

God bless you ladies for your efforts. They will re-group and develop a “strategy” to deal with this. We should be thankful that they are so isolated in the Washington beltway, they are so surrounded by admirers, they employ “yes men” to accompany them… that they won’t see it coming. They think you are anomilies that can be dealt with by some type of strategy. Good luck to them if they continue this type of behavior. Maybe they’ll be able to beg a job from a lobbyist after their political career is cut short.
