The best living ex-president who has done the best job since leaving the White House is… Jimmy Carter?
I’ll admit, I find this poll a bit confusing, unless its people voting on the pure fact that peanuts Carter simply leaving office was the best thing any of the living ex-presidents have done since leaving office. 32% voting in the Rasmussen poll voted for Carter, 29% voted for Clinton, 22% voted for Bush I, and 9% voted for Dubya.

I was astounded by the results because I lived through the Jimmy Carter years and he might have been the worst President we’ve ever had… present company excluded of course. Americans pay deference, however, to conviction and we can not doubt his conviction (however convoluted it might be to most of us) and his willingness to step to the forefront for something he believes in and charity work. I wish the Republican ex-Presidents would start making some waves and criticizing our current President like the Democrats do all the time. I’m an Independent and I hope there is a pox on both parties because of what you have done to our country but I can understand why American voters might see Carter as at least having some balls and conviction more than the rest.
