Oaks Apartment in Albany Oregon bans American flag, threatens to evict residents – Update Flag ban lifeted!

The flag ban has been lifted! Great job to everyone who was outraged and contacted Barb Holcomb’s ban at Oaks Apartments in Albany Oregon. The according to the Fox News story, The ACLU said that Barb Holcomb’s ban at Oaks Apartments did not violate any laws, but Holcomb said her legal cousel led her to believe otherwise so she reversed the decision.

“If people want to fly any flag of any nationality, it’s their right,” she told KATU. “When a tenant rents the unit, the inside of the unit belongs to the tenant. All automobiles and things attached to the automobiles are the personal property of the tenant.”

I got news for any liberal or otherwise who would be offended by the American flag on the porch of my house. GFYS/

The desecrate flags in Indiana in the name of Obama, now they are outright banning the display of the American flags in Albany, Oregon (and who knows where else). At the Oaks Apartments in Albany, the management has told residents that they can’t fly ANY flags at all, which includes the American flag. Oaks Apartment management, says the American flag symbolizes problems. Resident that talked to TV station KATU who posted this story were told that the flags could be offensive because they live in a diverse community. KATU was also told the ban includes sports flags and even flag stickers on cars.

I don’t give a flying f*ck how diverse a community Albany Oregon may be. Who in the hell are they to tell the people not to display the flag of this country? For that matter, who the hell do they think they are telling telling not to display the flags of whatever country some originated from. And sports teams flags too? If i lived there and wanted to display my Lakers flag, I really don’t care if it would be considered “offensive”.

Who can forbid the use of the American (USA) flag in USA? Who is “Oaks Apartments” to demand such a thing?
I have heard of some incidents here in Sweden too, about the swedish flag – for ex a school were the flag on a T-shirt was seen as too offensive…

This attempted assassination of national culture and identity was absolutely abhorrent. This was far worse than Constitutionally-protected flag burning, as it attempted to PREVENT others from expressing their Free Speech.

Glad to see this anti-Flag, anti-Free Speech leftist probe was rightfully and promptly stomped into the ground.

How this anti-Flag BS got started in the first place is the key question that should not be allowed to rest. If it was the result of outside agitators (i.e., by no one paying rent at the complex) they should be investigated to see what and where else they are up too.

The suggestion of this all is that those who rent in Oregon somehow have unequal protection under the law re: their inalienable Free Speech, as compared to property owners. Overall, it’s like everyone outside of Obamalove are under seige in a castle, and an invading horde is probing every last inch of the walls to find a weak spot — and/or disgruntled, disaffected, self-serving traitors inside willing and eager to lower the drawbridge for them.

I think this story merits revisiting monthly. Or better yet, starting a new award for anti-American efforts that are rightfully and promptly nipped in the bud, named in honor of Albany, OR.

This is the first time Albany, OR, came to my attention. I’ll send a copy of this comment to http://albanyvisitors.com/contact-us/

I am freaked out that this actually has happened. If someone is not proud of their own country, they should be freed of paying taxes here. We can transplant them in Kenya or Canada. It’s very simple, if you don’t like it here, leave!!!!! My father was in the Korean war, my brother in Vietnam, AND I was in Desert Storm. So when the topic of the flag it not being hung, it makes me want to hang someone!
