61% of Americans polled by Gallup think Obama didn’t deserve Nobel Peace Prize

According to the latest Gallup poll, 61% of those polled believe Obama didn’t deserve the Nobel Peace Prize award. Among party lines you have the usual divide of only 10% Republicans thinking he did deserve it, while surprisingly only 53% of Democrats thinking he deserved it. Among independents, only 27% think he deserved the award, while 66% don’t think he earned the Nobel Peace Prize. I that that as a matter accurate measure of what the country thinks, because of course Republicans will not be happy about it, and Democrats will cream their pants of the award.

The emotional factor of the award is also telling. As you would expect its divided among party lines. Only 10% of Republicans are “glad” he won the award, while 76% of Democrats are glad he won. The independents again reveal the interesting stats. Among independents, only 38% are “glad” Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, while 52% of independents are not.
