Obama to go on trial for eligibility Jan. 26, 2010 in front of judge U.S. District Judge David Carter
Wow! Talk about a shocker. Just when you thought the whole “birther” issue was dead, turns out not so much. According to World Net Daily, A California judge, U.S. District Judge David Carter today tentatively scheduled a trial for Jan. 26, 2010, for a case that challenges Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president based on questions over his qualifications under the requirements of the U.S. Constitution. If the case actually goes to arguments before U.S. District Judge David Carter, it will be the first time the merits of the dispute have been argued in open court, according to one of the attorneys working on the issue. So take it with a grain of salt, and don’t hold your breath you will ever see this even happen, but I guess stranger things have happened. I’m not one who’s even been on the “birther” bandwagon and believe Hussein was born in Hawaii, but this still is rather interesting don’t you think? More from the article:

WAH! WAH! WAH! In an interview on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” (what an Oxymoron), White House Communications Director Anita Dunn elaborates on comments she made in an interview in Time magazine, in which she commented that Fox News is “opinion journalism masquerading as news.”
“The reality of it is, fox news often operates as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican party,” she told Howard Kurtz.
Anita Dunn also admits Obama is “punishing” when he snubbed “Fox News Sunday” in making the rounds with four broadcast networks and Univision to push ObamaCARE. Dunn did say the Messiah will appear on Fox again in the near future, but not this year, because “he engages with ideological opponents,” but she would not mention exactly when the Messiah would grace Fox News with his presence.

Obama advisers downplaying Afghanistan dangers
U.S. intelligence, diplomatic and military officials told McClatchy that the Obama White House officials are minimizing warnings from the intelligence community, the military and the State Department about the risks of adopting a limited strategy focused on al Qaida. Recent U.S. intelligence assessments have found that the Taliban and other Pakistan-based groups that are fighting U.S.-led forces have much closer ties to al Qaida now than they did before 9/11, would allow the terrorist network to re-establish bases in Afghanistan and would help Osama bin Laden export his radical brand of Islam to Afghanistan’s neighbors and beyond, the officials said.
McClatchy interviewed more than 15 senior and mid-level U.S. intelligence, military and diplomatic officials, all of whom said they concurred with the assessments. All of them requested anonymity because the assessments are classified and the officials weren’t authorized to speak publicly.
