Abby Johnson resigns from Planned Parenthood after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure

planned_parenthood_logoAfter 8 years, Abby Johnson just couldn’t take it anymore. Last month, when Abby Johnson resigned from Planned Parenthood. Johnson said she realized she wanted to leave, after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure. Johnson handed in her resignation October 6 and had worked as the Bryan, Texas Planned Parenthood Director for two years. KBTX has the story:

According to Johnson, the non-profit was struggling under the weight of a tough economy, and changing it’s business model from one that pushed prevention, to one that focused on abortion.

“It seemed like maybe that’s not what a lot of people were believing any more because that’s not where the money was. The money wasn’t in family planning, the money wasn’t in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem with that,” said Johnson.

Johnson said she was told to bring in more women who wanted abortions, something the Episcopalian church goer recently became convicted about.

“I feel so pure in heart (since leaving). I don’t have this guilt, I don’t have this burden on me anymore that’s how I know this conversion was a spiritual conversion.”

Johnson now supports the Coalition For Life, the pro-life group with a building down the street from Planned Parenthood. Coalition volunteers can regularly be seen praying on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood. Johnson has been meeting with the coalition’s executive director, Shawn Carney, and has prayed with volunteers outside Planned Parenthood.

On Friday both Johnson and the Coalition For Life were issued temporary restraining orders filed by Planned Parenthood.

Rochelle Tafolla, a Planned Parenthood spokesperson issued the following statement: “We regret being forced to turn to the courts to protect the safety and confidentiality of our clients and staff, however, in this instance it is absolutely necessary.”

The temporary restraining order contends that Planned Parenthood would be irreparably harmed by the disclosure of certain information, but does not bar Johnson or Coalition For Life volunteers from the premises.

As of Sunday evening, neither Johnson nor Carney had seen the complaint filed against them that prompted the restraining order.

A hearing about the order has been set for November 10.

    Abby Johnson was terminated from Planned Parenthood. This media blitz is her form of retribution. I notice she removed the nose piercing before her interviews/photo. She is a very crafty chameleon. Her allegiance can be purchased so the anti abortionists should be prepared to provide a salary to maintain her loyalty.
    The ultrasound abortion she witnessed had no negative effect on her. In fact, she was so impressed and insisted all clinics should use this procedure for abortions.
    Abby is also currently having an affair with her hairdresser while her husband takes care of her daughter. While this has nothing to do with her “conversion” it does demonstrate her moral fiber or lack thereof. Lying and adultery are lifelong obstacles for Abby; it appears nothing has changed.
    Reporters would do their homework before interviewing her.

    The above comment from ‘abby johnson’ is a prime example of the lack of moral integrity, intelligence, honesty and common sense inherent in the pro-abortion crowd. It is also an example that they are morally challenged in their ability to blithely ignore that abortion is the murder of innocent life. I’m very happy that they, through this commentator, are able to expose themselves (hence, the lack of intelligence)

    Amen to Abby! Great move, hopefully we can get more people to leave PP…I read that SC now requires an Ultrasound for abortions.

    Abby Johnson now encourages thinking and loving individuals to place a special value on others who are (also humans made in the image of God) and in the same stage of development that “They were”!

    The thoughts that dance in the mind of humans, is conceived in their heart and hinges on the pivotal question that ushers in the undeserved “Death penalty” for the unborn; or the joyous excitement, anticipating the soon coming birth of a child.

    The question that answers the complex motive for a person’s actions after conception is “Is the pregnancy and baby wanted or rejected by one or both parents (or families) of the child”?!!!

    And if most women-with-child was loved by the child’s father,
    she would smile and happily say “No abortion” why bother.

    Ask God and the person you mated with to forgive you,
    forgive yourself and live the abundant life.
