Fox News dominates election night ratings, HLN beats MSNBC in demo group, CNN ends up dead last in 4th place
Fox News Channel dominated election night ratings once again averaging 4.04M Total Viewers between 8pm-11pmET. For the A25-54 demographic group which is usually considered the most important measurement of ratings, Fox News averaged 1.13M during primetime. At 11pmET, America’s Election HQ kept up the momentum averaging 2.37M Total Viewers and 841K in the demo, according to Media Bistro.
In primetime, MSNBC was a distant second on election night averaging 974K Total Viewers/308K in the demo. HLN was third with 842K Total Viewers, but came in second in the demo with 341K. CNN finished fourth in Total Viewers with 826K and in the demo with 227K.
