Area and schools on lockdown. At least seven people are dead and 12 wounded in a shooting at Fort Hood in Texas so far, as this horrible story develops.
Update: wounded count now up to 30
NBC reports from The Pentagon (Jim Miklaszewski) that this may be a terrorist attack. But that is not confirmed
Update: CNN now reporting 11 dead.
MSNBC had on their site (and has since removed) this quote (which is still available at Hotair linked above)
Alan Grayson gets his mic cut off halfway through reading “numbers” of those who died in GOP districts without HC insurance
Lord knows who this nutjob grayson come up with these random numbers of those dying in “GOP districts” because of lack of health care. The nutjob starts out his speech comparing those against Obama/PelosiCARE to Abraham Lincoln and pardoning people for treason. Then goes on babbling about these numbers he probably pulled out of his butt of those who die from lack of insurance again in (GOP districts). Not a mention of those democrat controlled districts of course. Ever the Democrat controlled House got tired of Grayson’s babbling, as they know he is one fry short of a happymeal. The House speaker cuts off Grayson’s mi about halfway through his rant, and goes to an early recess. Watch the following video and see the comedy show

Gay Leaders whine about TV Ads and Obama after gay-marriage loss in Maine
Stunned and angry, national gay rights leaders Wednesday blamed “scare-mongering ads” and Obama’s lack of engagement for a bitter election setback in Maine that could alter the dynamics for both sides in the gay-marriage debate. Conservatives, in contrast, celebrated Maine voters’ rejection of a law that would have allowed gay couples to wed, depicting it as a warning shot that should deter politicians in other states from pushing for same-sex marriage. My opinon? I don’t really care one way or another. If the people of a state vote it down, then its too bad for the gay whiners who pulled the same type of BS in California. Deal with the election results. The people of the state of Maine didn’t want to legalize gay marriage. Had they voted to legalize it, I wouldn’t have had a problem with it either. Its up to the people of the state. Not the government, and certainly not one group’s sexual preference opinion. More from Fox:
Actual cost of PelosiCARE $1.8 Trillion – ReidCARE $1.7 trillion according to the CBO
The CBO reports that, in their true first 10 years, the House bill would cost $1.8 trillion, and the Senate bill would cost $1.7 trillion according to the New York Post. Pelosi’s plan would raise Americans’ taxes by $1.1 trillion over that period, while Reid would hike them by $1 trillion. And the House bill would siphon about $800 billion from Medicare to spend it elsewhere, while the Senate bill would suck out about $900 billion.

A bit of a history lesson for Democrats claming NY23 win is their first since the Civil War
Nancy Pelosi and Democrats are creaming their pants claiming that by winning NY-23′s Congress seat, they have done something that they haven’t done since the Civil War. Unless the Civil War happened back in 1979, then something is terribly wrong with this claim. New York’s current 23th district was of course re-”districted” over and over along like many others. But lets take a look back at exactly what party controlled the “district”, data from Wikipedia

Banner supporting troops removed at Dallas Cowboys game, family to sell their season tickets

Iranians chant “Die, Die Dictator!” and “Obama, Obama, are you with regime or with us?”
You know all the liberals in the media say. Everyone loves us now because of Obama. Tell that to the people of Iran who were completely ignored by Obama during the fraud election back in June, when people like Neda were getting shot down in the street. All despite this, Obama cared enough to complain about Honduras’s ousting of Zelayna. People today in Iran, “celebrating” the 30th year of the Iranian revolution chanted “Obama, Obama, are you with regime or with us?”

Michael Steele chides those who supported Hoffman
Its time to cut bait and dump this failed experiment. Michael Steele found to time to whine about about what ABC describes as the “Palin Wing” of the GOP. Its amazing how the media losers still can’t get Sarah Palin off their media. Steele meanwhile while gloating about victories in Virginia and New Jersery also found the time to whine about those who threw their support behind Doug Hoffman instead of DeDe Scozzafava. This includes the likes of Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, and Rick Santorum, all of whom immersed themselves in the NY-23 special House race with their endorsements and support for conservative Doug Hoffman who came up short last night.
Gay-marriage law goes down in Maine
In yet another crushing defeat for liberals tonight, gay-marriage opponents are claiming victory in a closely watched referendum in Maine on a new state law that would have allowed same-sex couples to wed. According to Breitbart:
Fulton County machines break in NY-23 court order issued
While liberals have been seeing dancing in the streets at the thoughts of Owens beating Doug Hoffman tonight in a bit of a surprise, they may be a bit pre-mature. NewsChannel 9 WSYR-TV in Syracuse New York, they have learned voting machines in Fulton County, which is a part of the 23rd Congressional District, have been impounded, after the machines were not working property today, the Fulton County Board of Elections confirms.

Obama didn’t watch election returns
YEA RIGHT! As a preview of whats to come in 2010, in which Republican Bob McDonnell won in an absolute landslide of Democrat Creig Deeds by 18% and in New Jersey which is your prototypical corrupt Democrat state that Obama won easily last that went to Republican Chris Christie, CNN claims Obama did not plan to watch Tuesday nights election returns, At least thats what Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod told CNN. This despite the campaigning by Obama for Deeds, and the 5 appearances in New Jersey for Corzine over the past week.
Chris Christie Wins New Jersey! 49%-45%
It wasn’t even as close as people thought it would be! Chris Christie wins New Jersey gubernatorial race! with 80% of the precincts reporting, Fox News calls the election for Christie, with about a 100,000 vote lead! The Associated Press and CNN are calling Republican challenger Chris Christie the winner of the New Jersey governor’s race, based on exit polling. The actual results are still pretty close: Christie’s ahead 49% to 45% with 85%+ of the precincts reporting. But Christie is doing extremely well in Republican strongholds in Ocean, Monmouth, Morris and Somerset counties, while holding his own against Gov. Jon Corzine in key swing counties, including Bergen and Middlesex counties. Jon Corzine has already conceded to Christie. Christie becomes the first Republican to win statewide office since Christie Whitman, who also defeated an incumbent Democrat, Jim Florio in 1994.
Bob McDonnell CRUSHES Creigh Deeds 59%-41% and is winner in the state of Virginia for Governor!
In an absolute slaughter! Bob McDonnell has been declared the winner of the Virginia Governor’s race. With just 30% of presincts reporting, McDonnell absolutely destroyed Democrat “challenger” Creigh Deeds by a 59%-41% edge! Obama won this state by 5 points a year ago. This is now a 23 point swing in less than a year! Breitbart has the story:
Republican Bob McDonnell has easily won the Virginia governor’s race just a year after the state went overwhelmingly for President Barack Obama and the Democrats.
Unofficial results show the former attorney general defeating Creigh (kree) Deeds and returning a Republican to the governor’s office for the first time in eight years.
This race and the contest for governor of New Jersey are viewed as the first referendum on the president and the Democratic Congress before the 2010 mid-term elections.
A year ago, Obama became the first Democrat in 44 years to carry Virginia in a presidential race.
This time voters expressed angst about major Obama initiatives such as health care, energy and stimulus spending. But McDonnell dominated the campa
ign’s central issues: jobs and the economy.
In New Jersey, Turnout Higher In GOP and Swing Districts Than In Democrats
Bad news for corrupt Corzine? National Review has some interesting stats, although please note this these numbers are based only on early voter turnout, these numbers should not be assumed to be a referandum on the election, or a prediction as to what is to come in New Jersey later today. So far in New Jersey the two heaviest turnout counties are Hunterdon, which John McCain carried by 13.3%, and Morris County, which McCain carried by 8.1%. A trusted source tells the National Review Online that as of noon, total turnout in the GOP the swing districts in NJ is significantly outpacing turnout in Democrat districts. The turnout ratio is not quite two to one, but it’s not that far from it.
