Friend of Angelo Chris Dodd asked to drop out of 2010 Senate Race?

chris-dodd2Remember this happened to New York Governor David Paterson when Obama asked him to drop out of the 2010 Governor race?  Now there’s rumors going that nervous Connecticut Democratic leaders have asked on of the Friends of Angelo Chris Dodd to drop out the 2010 state Senate race. Dodd of course denies these rumors according to Political Wire:

Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT) was “asked about rumors that some anxious Connecticut Democratic leaders have urged him to consider stepping out of the 2010 Senate race in favor of Attorney General Richard Blumenthal,” the Hartford Courant reports.

However, Dodd said he had not been directly confronted by party officials and quipped, ‘they can’t be more anxious about it than I am.”


Chris Dodd is way behind Republican challenger Rob Simmons 48% to 35%. Even some wrestling owner Linda McMahon leads Dodd 44%-38%. May choice for the seat Peter Schiff only leads Dodd by one point 40%-39%.
