Chris Dodd’s Own Poll Still Shows Him Trailing Republicans

chris-dodd2Friend of Angelo Chris Dodd’s (D-Conn.) campaign released their own polling memo today showing him tied or trailing two of the Republicans in the race. The memo, titled “Chris Dodd Can Win Next November,” only shows the vulnerable Democratic senator can win in an informed ballot test. According to CQ Politics:

In the poll paid for by Dodd’s campaign, he is tied with former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon (R) at 46 percent. Dodd is trailing Republican former Rep. Rob Simmons), 46 percent to 51 percent. The Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research poll tested the opinions of 601 likely voters from Dec. 15 to 17, plus had a margin of error of 4 percent.

McMahon also released her own poll over the weekend showing her barely leading Simmons in the GOP primary, 37 percent to 35 percent. Businessman Peter Schiff (R) scored 4 percent in the poll, while 25 percent were undecided. The poll, performed by McMahon pollster Moore Information, surveyed 400 likely GOP primary voters from Dec. 15 to 16 and had a margin of error of 4.9 points.
