Barbara Boxer – there’s less than 100 al Qaeda forces in Afghanistan
California Senator Barbara Boxer, a Democrat who is up for re-election in 2010, issued her statement about Obama’s “Afghanistan” speech last night. Apparently, she knows something we don’t. There’s less than 100 al Qaeda terrorists in that country and “roughly” 20,000 “Tollybahn” err Taliban members (San Francisco Chronicle):
“I support the President’s mission and exit strategy for Afghanistan, but I do not support adding more troops because there are now 200,000 American, NATO and Afghan forces fighting roughly 20,000 Taliban and less than 100 al Qaeda.”
Boxer of course aside being one of those global warming/climate change nut jobs also was one of few Democrats who voted against a resolution giving President Bush the authority to use military force against Iraq in 2002.
Democrats turning on Obama over jobs – form ‘Jobs Now Caucus’
Democrats including some from the Congressional Black Caucus are now charging that the White House and the Democratic Congressional leadership are not doing enough to help the unemployed and are threatening to organize a march on Washington of jobless Americans. Democrats have since formed the a Congressional ‘Jobs Now Caucus’, which they claim to be bi-partisan. Yet is comprised of 112 Democrats and only 17 Republicans. Co chair of the ‘Jobs Now Caucus is none other than Black Panther Bobby Rush. Here’s what he said to CNN:
“Obviously there’s something that’s not getting through to them,” said Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Illinois. “And we’re going to let the White House and everybody who’s concerned know that we have got people in our districts who are depending on us to deliver for them.”

New York’s State Senate defeats Gay Marriage Bill
And it wasn’t even really close. The vote on the Gay Marriage Bill for New York was 38-24. Democrats hold a 1 seat majority in the New York State senate, so plenty of Democrats also voted against the passage of the bill. According to the New York Times, the vote means that the bill, pushed by New York Governor David Paterson, is effectively dead for the year and dashes the optimism of gay rights advocates, who have had setbacks recently in several key states.
Henry Waxman: Government will need to help “shape” U.S. media
Waxman, and other U.S. lawmakers and regulators are looking into various options to help a newspaper industry hurt by the shift in advertising revenues to online platforms. Aka a new bailout coming? Accoring to Reuters, tweaks to the U.S. tax code to allow newspapers to spread losses over a greater number of years, providing a nonprofit structure to allow for public and foundation funding, and changes to antitrust laws are being considered by lawmakers and policymakers.

Is Afghanistan a nuclear state now? According to Joe Biden it is. Today on Good Morning America Diane Sawyer conducted an interview with Joe Biden on the subject of Afghanistan, but ignored an embarrassing gaffe from Biden. From Newsbusters:
“Our number one enemy concern is the existential threat, al Qaeda. Number two is the stability of a nuclear state called Afghanistan, under siege by radicals.”

With all the jabbering from most Canadians and Brits trying to lecture Americans against ObamaCARE how “wrong” we are and how government run health care is great and everything, here is another interesting stat to look it. According to Dick Morris, last year Britain had a cancer death rate 0.25% while the United States had a rate of 0.18%. The UK cancer death rate is 38% higher than in the United States. But remember, everyone from there and the left-wing nut jobs here will tell you how bad our health care system is, and how superior the UK’s is. In Canada, the cancer death rate is 16% higher than in America.

Jeffrey Anderson pointed out in this post that Reid’s bill would cost $2.5 trillion from 2014 to 2023.

Pelosi’s offices defended the charges, saying the Speaker’s office holds more ceremonial events with visiting dignitaries than other congressional offices. They also use a local florist, and about a third of her flower expenses this quarter were for Jack Kemp’s funeral. According to Politico, House Majority Whip James Clyburn has a thing for Chantilly Donuts, spending about $265 at the Virginia shop in the past quarter. And Rep. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), a “fiscal conservative”, decided to give about $2,000 in unused office funds back to the government to help reduce the deficit.
Number of Americans identifying themselves as Democrats Falls to Four-Year Low
For the most part in this country registered Democrats have always outnumbered registered Republicans. This is especially the case after the last few years since a lot of pissed off Republicans became independents because the Republicans morphed into “lite” versions of Democrats. During the election in 2008, over 40% of those polled by Rasmussen considered themselves Democrats. Well, thanks to Congress and Obama, the tied is turing. The polling goes back to 2004 when the memory of 9/11 started to fade and the Bush bashing became fashionable. In November of 2009, 36.0% of American adults said they were Democrats. That’s down from 37.8% in October and the lowest number of Democrats since December 2005 when the percentage of people claiming to be a Democrat was 35.9%. The number of Republicans inched up by just over a point in November to 33.1%. That’s within the narrow range that Republicans have experienced throughout 2009 – from a low of 31.9% to a high of 33.6%.

Australia’s Parliament Rejects Cap and Trade
According to Reuters (UK) and Newsbusters, Australia’s parliament rejected laws to set up a sweeping carbon trade scheme on Wednesday, scuttling a key climate change policy of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and setting a trigger for an early 2010 election. The lame stream media most certainly will ignore this also, just like the Climategate e-mail scandal.

Obama’s poll numbers tanking in Missouri, Virginia, Oregon and Washington
Also, Kentucky and Kansas, though these states aren’t really too much of a surprise. Other states such as Missouri which Obama almost won in the election last year, Virginia which Obama won by 6% in 2008, and Oregon and Washington which are typical liberal left wing states are more of a surprise. In Virginia, Obama’s approval rating is 37%, and disapproval stands at a whopping 60% according to National Review. In Missouri, the Survey USA poll puts Obama at a 38% approval rating with 58% disapproval. But the real surprises come from the liberal infested states. In Washington state, Obama’s approval/disapproval splits evenly, 48 percent to 48 percent; and evenly in Oregon, 47 percent to 47 percent.
Now that’s the change we need!

Bush Shoe Thrower Muntadhar al-Zeidi gets shoe thrown at him!
Remember this last year?
Muntadhar al-Zeidi became a hero to the left wing loons in this country. There was basically 24 hour liberal media coverage of this nut job Iraqi Muslim throwing a show at then President Bush. Liberals almost creamed themselves for days at the youtube clips of this. Well, turnabout is fair play I guess. According to Fox News, the Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zeidi who threw his shoes at President George W. Bush in Baghdad last year nearly got beaned by a shoe thrower at a news conference in Paris. All Muntadhar al-Zeidi could do is whine:

GretaWIRE posted info of an e-mail sent by MoveOn.org’s Daniel Mintz. Apparently they aren’t too happy that Obama is sending in 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Not for the reasons that its some sort of half-assed plan, but of course the usual liberal reasons for being anti-war. In a strange sort of way, I have to agree with them though, since either you go at it to win, or you bring all the troops home and not keep them in danger if you have no desire to completely protect them and provide the manpower needed. Great news! Good night now Maurice Clemmons! A Seattle Police officer, checking on a stolen car in south Seattle, shot and killed suspected Lakewood cop killer Maurice Clemmons, police announced this morning. This news comes from the Seattle Daily Weekly. The shooting ended a two-day manhunt here and in the Tacoma area after ex-con Clemmons fled the Sunday morning Pierce County crime scene where four Lakewood police officers were ambushed in a coffee shop.

According to the AP, HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Tuesday that just two weeks after publication, Sarah Palin’s memoir has sold 1 million copies going platinum! The print run for “Going Rogue” has been increased again, to 2.8 million copies. The original printing was 1.5 million, then moved up to 2.5 million. Of course, it wouldn’t be an AP story story without finding some sort of way to diminish this accomplishment:
