Racist Harry Reid says Joe Lieberman ‘double-crossed’ him
Maybe Harry Reid is an anti-semite in addition to a racist? According to The Hill, Harry Reid claims he felt “double-crossed” when Joe Lieberman pulled his support for a Medicare expansion, the NYT reports in a Sunday magazine article.
Reid believed that Lieberman had indicated his support for a Medicare “buy-in” as a substitute for the public option. But when Lieberman told CBS’s Face the Nation in mid-December that he could not support the deal, Reid was left fuming.
“He double-crossed me,” said Reid. “Let’s not do what he wants. Let the bill just go down.”
Of course, Reid didn’t “let the bill just go down,” but the threat indicates how angry the majority leader was with Lieberman’s machinations.
