Martha Coakley turns MLK breakfast into political rally for herself

twitterbrown_biggerHow pathetic and desperate is Martha Coakley? Apparently, she thought a breakfast to honor Dr. Martin Luther King was a political rally for herself, instead of actually honoring the legacy of Dr. King.  Coakley was invited to speak after the widely unpopular MA governor Duval Patrick.  Within a few seconds into her speech, she said this:

“If Dr. King were here today, he’d be standing with us,” she
told the heavily black audience. “And I know that he would be
standing with us on the front line for health care, not as a
privilege, but as a right.”

Of course Coakley couldn’t resist the usual Democrat propaganda of slamming George W. Bush.

Scott Brown as in attendance for this breakfast, but wasn’t invite to speak. However, he wasn’t too pleased with Coakley’s politicking at the rally:

I thought it was inappropriate to be politicking when we are trying to honor Martin Luther King today,” said Republican Scott Brown after his opponent Martha Coakley’s speech at the Martin Luther King breakfast in Boston this morning.

“I certainly didn’t realize that this was a rally for Martha,” said the Republican Senate candidate in Massachusetts.

“It was all about politics. I don’t remember hearing anything about Martin Luther King,” said Brown.

Here is Scott Brown responding to what happened at the Dr. MLK breakfast:

Thank you for exposing another travesty that puts political campaigning above integrity.

It’s a shame that Scott Brown did not have the presence of mind to say something to honor Dr. MLK on the way out of the breakfast…

This is not to say he was wrong to point out the political nature of Martha Coakley’s remarks. He was correct in his comments and I believe he was disappointed at the lack of honor [once again] displayed by his political opponent at what should have been a non-political event.

I think Scott Brown was incredible in this video. Here he is, being hounded by the press who want him to nastily spew and dogpile (deservedly) on Coakley and her self promotion, and while he’s walking briskly, struggling to put on his coat and hurrying to get home to change so that he can be somewhere else “in a half hour”, all that he would say that was negative was that she was “inappropriate.” Taking the high road when the press were fishing for “the low road.”

No one in his entourage shoved the press to the ground, he never responded with “Next question” or “No comment.” And he never once said that Curt Schilling was a Yankees fan (LOL).

Brown should have had “presence of mind” to honor Dr. King??? Expecting alot, aren’t we? I don’t recall any members of the press asking him about Dr. King… Brown was hurriedly and politely responding to their questions. Looks like the press should have had “the presence of mind” to have asked that, IMHO, if any critical evaluation is to be levied.

Just as arrogance fell the British under King George, how fitting that the second shot heard round the world should take place near Lexington and Concord.
This is what I foresee for 2010.
Judge Carter finds Obama guilty of perjury, he is impeached and deported. Joe Biden assumes the Presidency. Every Democratic Congressmen switches Parties. At his first press conference Biden tells the media, “I’m smarter than all of you. My Presidency will be about 3 letters, J-O-B-S.” He points to Chuck Graham in his wheelchair and tells him, “Stand up Chuck, let ‘em see ya.” When Chuck remains seated he takes off his shoes and throws them him and is led away in a straightjacket. Nancy Pelosi steps up to the microphone and starts chewing on the podium. Harry Reid bursts through the door wearing an Obama mask and yells, “Who’s your Daddy now?!?” A riot ensues and the networks go to dead air.
