Why left wing nuts are never math majors – Pete Fleckenstein exposes the phony million “jobs saved or created” lie

obamafacepalmLeft wingers love to claim how much smarter they are than everyone else. How they are all scientists, professors, or TV news hacks. So either Obama and the rest of the Democrats are stupid, just full of sh*t, or simply not very good at math when it comes to the 1 million or 2 million jobs “saved or created” with the $787 billion porkulus package. As you probably saw over the weekend on the Sunday news shows, when asked by the various stations how many jobs the so called stimulus package actually created, we got three different answers from three different Obama adminstration people. We had Valerie Jarrett say “thousands and thousands”, we had Robert Gibbs claim it has saved 1.5 million jobs, and of course David Axelrod claim it has saved a whopping 2 million jobs. USA Today gleefully claimed Obama’s stimulus package saved jobs 1.2 million jobs, according to USA TODAY’s quarterly survey of 50 economists.

Unemployment would have hit 10.8% — higher than December’s 10% rate — without Obama’s $787 billion stimulus program, according to the economists’ median estimate. The difference would translate into another 1.2 million lost jobs.

Now lets take a look at some liberal/progressive math, broken down by Peter Fleckenstein:

The current unemployment rate is 10% or 7.2 million jobs.

If you increase the current rate .8% then the number of additional jobs lost would be 57,600 for a total of 7,257,600.

57,600 jobs is not 1,200,000 jobs saved.

But wait Pete, you’ve got to take 10.8% of the workforce, you say? Okay, let’s do that:

Since the current unemployment rate is 10% or 7,200,000 jobs then the total workforce is 72,000,000

Now 10.8% of 72,000,000 equals 7,776,000 jobs lost.

7,776,000 jobs minus 7,200,000 jobs equals 576,000 jobs

Last time I checked 576,000 DOES NOT EQUAL 1,200,000 jobs.

Question: If Obama saved a job that was never there to be saved, should we believe Obama ever saved it?

Maybe we should believe one of the three different estimates that the Obama Administration peeps spouted out this past weekend?

Or maybe we should just accept the fact that the Left has developed a new math. Yeah that’s the ticket.

So there you have it folks, either liberals / progressives need to go back to math class at Berkley, or they simply invited a new type of math! Yea thats it! Since they are so smart, and everyone else is so dumb, they simply invented a new math! Congrats Obama / Dems / Progressives!
