Family Guy uses down syndrome date of “Chris” to mock the Palins and Trig

going-rougeWhat will ever be considered over the line for progressive liberals? Certainly its not over the line to mock a down syndrome baby, or the family of the baby for liberals. That is of course unless the down syndrome baby was from a progressive/liberal mother. In this episode, the character “Chris Griffin” was dating a girl with Down’s Syndrome named Ellen. Chris asks Ellen what her parents do, and Ellen replies her mother was the former governor of Alaska. Wow, anyone get the “joke”? If you can stomach it, watch the video below.

Yet another example of how rhetoric in this country has sank to a personal level…

I’m wondering if the Palin camp actually watched the episode. I don’t think they were making fun of people with down syndrome at all. What they did do is supply a character that was pushy and demanding and happen to give her down syndrome. Given the normal way the Family Guy works I was actually surprised that they didn’t play on the down syndrome a bit more. Anyway, it’s a comedy show know for being crass and picking on any and every subculture they can think of, get over it.

Haha this was funny. It’s called satire. No wait… well, let’s just call it satire and Palin should be okay with it.

I’m confused. What exactly is the problem here? A character on the show has downs-syndrome. So? They could have done something far, far more insulting, and all they did was have someone with a stereotypical “downs-syndrome” type voice. Can someone tell me what exactly was insulting about this?

Just because a show that’s normally very edgy does something topical, it doesn’t mean you need to jump on it and make it seem more than it actually is.

And before I get flamed for this, I might as well correct my spelling of “downs-syndrome” For some reason, I always look at it that way, but it’s just down syndrome. My mistake.

so family guy shows a downs syndrome girl go on a date and this is mocking people with downs syndrome ? Uhh.. No.

They did make the girl look like Sarah Palin so this has nothing to do with Trig. It has everything to do with Sarah Palin.

Palin’s whining is more of her terminal victimhood.

The woman has no clue that she is an idiot.

Can’t wait for South Park to cleverly destroy Family Gay as they’ve done so many times in the past. That poor “voice actress” doesn’t realize what a tool she is for Seth McFagland.

Will Family Gay ever mock Barack and his two dim daughters?

Several medias have said that response has been mixed to positive. How can anyone with a heart have anything positive to say about that episode. I turned it off after the song. It was my favorite show up until then, I will no longer watch it.
