    When Gore Vidal said he did not believe in suffrage, I was appalled. Now that I see just how unreasonable people are, particularly right wing conservatives, I think he was right. We need to be careful that we don’t get beyond the ability to have reasoned debate, and ability to compromise for the greater good. Republicans, in particular, are encouraging a very dangerous fringe element–something that better fits life in the Middle East than in a democratic country.
