Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signs immigration bill SB1070 into law, progressives heads explode

janet-napolitano-nope.jpgGreat to see at least one state has a Governor with guts. We should also thank Obama for picking former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano to be a part of his administration. Without Obama picking Napolitano, this bill surely would have been vetoed! Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has signed the state bill SB1070 into law that requires police to determine whether a person is in the United States legally. Progressive liberals of course already are using excuses like the bill will foster racial profiling and discrimination. Also, earlier today, Obama whined about the bill being “misguided.”

It’s about time the legislature of a border state, with Mexico, came up with a bill regarding illegal immigration, and the actions to be taken to try to control the influx of illegals. I pray our Governor here in Texas will push for the same thing. From my understanding of the bill, it mirrors what the federal government is supposed to be doing, regarding illegal immigrants. Being raised in South Texas, and starting my career as a Registered Nurse in 1965, I saw the “anchor babies” being delivered in the small town hospital where I first worked. I saw the young, illegal Mexican women having illegitimate babies, who automatically became U.S. citizens. I have seen how the influx of illegals from Mexico have taken a toll on our health care system here in Texas, as well as in our public schools, with children who have difficulty learning to speak English as their parents only speak Spanish at home and don’t try to learn English themselves. Don’t they realize that this puts them at a disadvantage? ALL immigrants who want to come to the U.S. MUST do it the legal way, according to the laws of the U.S. The fence MUST be completed as not all illegals coming into the U.S. are Mexicans, but may also be terrorists. With the drug cartel fights spilling over into Arizona, and Phoenix being the “kidnap capital” of the U.S., something HAD to be done. Sheriff Joe Arpiao has been doing a great job in apprehending illegals, yet the former governor, Janet Napolitano was fighting against him. I cannot believe she’s head of Homeland Security, with her actions as governor of Arizona. If racial profiling is used, so be it. Learn to speak English, after coming into the U.S. legally, and assimilate into our society. I’ve lived in Texas all my life, and there are very few Mexicans whom I’ve seen completely assimilate, and I’m talking about when I was in public school during the 50′s, graduating in 1962. Reminds me of the saying, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” English is the official language of the U.S.! Obey our laws, immigrate through the legal process, and become an American. Not a Mexican-American, African-American, or any other type of hyphenated American! I am beyond sick and tired of the hyphens used today. I could call myself a Scottish-American since my father’s family originated in Scotland, but I’m an American and proud of it. Just ashamed at the depths to which the POTUS has sunk our once great nation to, in just 15 months.

    Hey adriana,

If you don’t like this country, you can leave the same way you came. Go back to mexico if you do not want to follow the laws. I hope you get papers for your parents – That is what a citizen of the UNITED STATES is supposed to do!
By the way regarding racial profiling… Here are some statistics.

    A little background:
“Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.

This is some of what the flood of immigration is doing to our country, according to data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security reports:

•95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
•83% of warrants for murder in Phoenix are for illegal aliens.
•86% of warrants for murder in Albuquerque are for illegal aliens.
•75% of those on the most wanted list in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Albuquerque are illegal aliens.
•24.9% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally
•40.1% of all inmates in Arizona detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally
•48.2% of all inmates in New Mexico detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally
•29% (630,000) convicted illegal alien felons fill our state and federal prisons at a cost of $1.6 billion annually
•53% plus of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens.
•50% plus of all gang members in Los Angeles are illegal aliens from south of the border.
•71% plus of all apprehended cars stolen in 2005 in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California were stolen by Illegal aliens or “transport coyotes”.
•47% of cited/stopped drivers in California have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 47%, 92% are illegal aliens.
•63% of cited/stopped drivers in Arizona have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 63%, 97% are illegal aliens
•66% of cited/stopped drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66% 98% are illegal aliens.
•380,000 plus “anchor babies” were born in the US to illegal alien parents in just one year.”
    Refute these stats Liberal Trolls!

What part of ‘ILLEGAL’ don’t people understand?

  • David R. DeWitt

Best wishes to the People and Governor of Arizona. The right thing is not always the easy or popular thing to do, that is what has always brought out the best of us. There are still Patriots in this Country. There are millions of good Americans supporting you. Good Luck.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. ~Thomas Jefferson~

Secure our borders, identify all illegal aliens, deport them immediately. They would not be here in the first place if the government upheld the law of the land. Laws set in place to avoid exactly what is happening to this great country.

No one allowed in this country unless they are legally processed
and accepted. There should be no argument when it comes to
the preservation of our land, security and economy.
Liberals despise this country and subconsciously would like nothing better than to see it fail. Please wake up. we have a country to save and time is of the essence.

Socialism is not an option. The people would never stand for it.
    So stop fighting for it.

Stop trying to “change” everything about the greatest country in the world. Go back to that which made this country great. Admit
that you got got caught up in all the hype and regain your identity. Success arises from failures. There is no shame in it.

Well im very sadden about this law being passed. I do live in Arizona and i go to college, im a youth leader in my church, im also student body president in my college and also a community leader in phoenix, i love working and volunteering helping the poor and youth in crisis. And i have already been discrimanated by many people by my skin, and now with this law,i know many other people will use this law in the worst way they can!!! I know many people dont understand it because they wont be the ones being discriminated but its not the law its the intentions. Its very sad how many people say the worst about latino people and man so their offensive words hurt..ironically one of the girls i have collaborated with is from canada and she is illegal here for whatever reason, and she explained how in one of the sheriff checkpoints she wasnt even stopped but the guy behind her which was a latino looking guy was the first to be stopped…now you see what i mean..May God bless this country which i love. Father in your scriptures you say to love everyone, and thats what i will do!
