California Penal Code Section 834b sounds a lot like Arizona’s anti illegal-immigration bill minus no racial profiling! Hypocrites!

mw_gonzalez_jesus.jpgAll the boycotts of Arizona called for by California cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego are not only pure stupid, but turning out to be quite hypocritical as well. I’m hoping Arizona decides to boycott California as they continue to dig themselves into a ditch of debt they may never recover from.  We know these big cities in California are sanctuary cities when it comes to illegals, just like Phoenix has been for many years. But you might be interested to know what the actual law in California really is:

(a) Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully
cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization
Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is
suspected of being present in the United States in violation of
federal immigration laws.
(b) With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected
of being present in the United States in violation of federal
immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the
following:

(1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen
of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent
resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time
or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of
immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not
be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and
place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding
documentation to indicate his or her legal status.

(2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien
who is present in the United States in violation of federal
immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal
justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or
leave the United States.
(3) Notify the Attorney General of California and the United
States Immigration and Naturalization Service of the apparent illegal
status and provide any additional information that may be requested
by any other public entity.
(c) Any legislative, administrative, or other action by a city,
county, or other legally authorized local governmental entity with
jurisdictional boundaries, or by a law enforcement agency, to prevent
or limit the cooperation required by subdivision (a) is expressly
prohibited.

So any one “suspected” of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and law enforcement is required to verify the person’s citizenship? Actually this law is more strict than Arizona! Who would have thunk it? California’s anti illegal-immigration laws are stronger than the “controversial” Arizona law that progressive liberals are whining so hard about. Yet these laws are never enforced in California. Why is that? Is the law enforcement in the state simply not doing their jobs? Is it the politicians interfering? What’s up with this anyway? In Arizona, you have to actually have committed a crime or a traffic violation in order to be “questioned” about your citizenship in order to prevent racial profiling. California’s “law” has no such requirement, and does NOT prevent racial profiling. California should change their name to Hypocritifornia!

    Obama is a fraud!
First lie: According to the koran any child whose biological father is a Muslim is a muslim by birth. Obama’s Kenyan father is a Muslim. This makes Hussein Obamma a Muslim.
Second lie: Obama is not a US citizen. School registration documents in Jakarta, Indonesia show his nationality as an Indonesian and his religion as a MUslim.
According to Islam a person is a Muslim for his entire natural life. What is the reason for hiding his real identity?
Hussein Obama was indoctrinated in Islam and the Koran in his formative years in Indonesia. Once touched by Islam, you can take the person away from Islam, but you cannot take Islam out of the preson. We are a nation at war and our common enemy are the Arabs and Islam. Since the sixth century Muslims of the world have tried to dominate the world and destroy the Western civilization and its religion. their obsession wit the destrution of Israel is well known. The only way to do that is to conquer the US from within. THey now have their straw man in the White House. Now is the time to remove Obama as president for the sake of Western civilization.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

Not true. The California law only requires asking for documentation if a person has already been arrested for SOMETHING ELSE. The Arizona law requires asking for documentation if you only suspect the person may be here illegally. And you don’t have to be a law enforcement officer, you could be a water meter reader. Not the same AT ALL.

    Mike Hurst,

Not True. It has to be a law enforcement officer and they have to be stopping someone for a violation. They don’t have to be arrested, but they have to be stopped for something first (speeding, rolling a stop sign, jay walking, illegal parking, etc.) Please read the latest version of the bill. It mirrors the California Penal code, except California’s has to have the individual arrested first.

So it IS racial profiling. Truly, if we were getting overrun by Norwegians it might be different, but those of us who are Hispanic are pretty easy to identify, for the most part.
And, sadly, in certain walks of life and social strata, there is a 90+% chance that we are not here legally.
Just like we don’t have a problem taking off our shoes at the airport if we have nothing to hide, I have no problem producing documentation if asked. I have to comply with the law; the law that says that I’m only supposed to be here if I am either a citizen, or if I’ve been given permission by my host nation for me to stay.

Why doesn’t FOX News people read from the Ca. & Az. laws when they debate this issue with their guests on the other side and then I remember a quote learned a long time ago. “A person convinced against their will is of the same opinion still.”
These people have their agenda and the truth be damned. Prediction – Obama & his administration will do nothing or next to nothing with this issue. Hopefully, a new congress & president will solve this any many other issues facing our great country.

I could be mistaken, did that once, but I believe Missouri also has a law on their books, since 2008, that mirrors California and Arizona.
