First oil rig sails away over Obama regime’s drilling ban

Diamond Offshore announced Friday that its Ocean Endeavor drilling rig will leave the Gulf of Mexico and move to Egyptian waters immediately — making it the first to abandon the United States in the wake of the BP oil spill and a ban on deep-water drilling. And the Ocean Endeavor’s exodus probably won’t be the last, according to oil industry officials and Gulf Coast leaders who warn that other companies eager to find work for the now-idled rigs are considering moving them outside the U.S. Great news for those who had jobs in on these rigs wouldn’t you say? According to the Houston Chronicle, Devon Energy Corp. had been leasing the Endeavor to drill in the same region of the Gulf as BP’s leaking Macondo well, which has been gushing crude since a lethal blowout April 20. But Diamond announced Friday it will lease the rig through June 30, 2011, to Cairo-based Burullus Gas Co., which plans to send the Endeavor to Egyptian waters immediately.

According to the Washington Post, the Obama Regime began deliberating a spy swap with Moscow nearly a month ago, well ahead of the arrests of 10 Russians in the United States less than two weeks ago, a White House official said Friday. Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani will NOT be stoned to death
Thankfully, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, who is a 43-year-old mother of two, will not be stoned to death after all. Ashtiani has been imprisoned in the city of Tabriz (Iran) since 2006 after being charged with having sex outside of marriage, considered a serious offense under Islamic law. She was convicted of the charge, even though her husband had been slain before the alleged affair, and she received a public flogging. According to the L.A. Times, Iran’s Embassy in London issued a news release saying Ashtiani would not be stoned to death, a gruesome process in which a person is buried up to their chest or neck and then pelted with medium-sized rocks until they die. While this is certainly good news, Iranian officials have yet to clarify what fate awaits the woman.

Polling done by James Carville’s firm Democracy Corps find that 55% think Obama is a socialist
The latest poll by Democracy Corps which is the the firm of flaming progressive liberals James Carville and Stan Greenberg, finds that 55% of those polled think Obama is a socialist. I’m sure this is just some sort of right-wing conspiracy or something. When asked about “a socialist,” 33 percent of likely voters say it describes Obama “very well,” 22 percent say “well,” 15 percent say “not too well,” and 25 percent say “not well at all.” This means 55% of those polled by this left wing poll think Obama is a socialist.
The same left wing poll finds Republicans leading on the generic ballot among likely voters, 48 percent to 42 percent.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Florida finds Marco Rubio back ahead of Charlie Crist, with Rubio earning 36% support and Crist, capturing 34% of the vote. Democrat candidate Kendrick Meek remains a distant third, picking up 15%. Fourteen percent (14%) of the state’s voters remain undecided. A month ago, Rubio, former speaker of the Florida House, and Crist were tied at 37% apiece.

West Virginia’s attorney general Darrell McGraw OKs special election for KKK Byrd’s Senate seat
According to the AP, West Virginia’s attorney general says Gov. Joe Manchin can put the late Robert C. Byrd’s Senate seat on the ballot this November. Manchin requested a legal opinion from Attorney General Darrell McGraw, who issued it Thursday. The AP goes on to call KKK Byrd an “iconic Democrat”, which is technically true. As Democrats and progressive liberals continue to show their true colors on racism such as the New Black Panther Party and the NAACP, Byrd may have been iconic. He certainly represented what the Democrats believed back in the ’60s when he filibustered the civil rights bill. Today Democrat beat up black people because they deem them “uncle toms” or “not black enough.” They threaten voters at polling stations, and yell how much they hate “white crackers” and want to kill their babies. Manchin may now call a special legislative session to settle details such as candidate filing and party nomination deadlines. Manchin will appoint someone to fill the vacancy in the meantime. The Democrat says he may run for Byrd’s seat, but won’t have himself appointed. I wouldn’t get too excited though about this seat being in play for Republicans though. Any state that can elect the filthy racist KKK byrd for over 50 years, and have another flaming progressive liberal Democrat as their other Senator doesn’t seem like a state ready to change anything.
