Obama defends Ground Zero Mosque to Muslims at White House “Ramadan dinner”

obama-pictureBarack Hussein Obama had been silent when it came to were he stood in regards to the proposed Ground Zero Mosque in New York City a couple blocks from where the World Trade Center went down in 2001. Obama’s silence has ended at a White House Ramadan dinner called the “Iftar meal”. This meal breaks the Ramadan fast for Muslims. During the “Iftar” Obama defended the plan to build the mosque. According to the Wall Street Journal, Obama told the Muslim that America’s commitment to freedom of religion “must be unshakable.’‘ What’s next? Is New York going to change it’s state name to New Mecca? Since I’m not a birther and believe Obama is from Hawaii, I wonder how long it will be until he endorses the Japanese to build a monument at Pearl Harbor? Remember when Robert Gibbs said the Obama regime wouldn’t get involved, and it was all New York’s decision? Seems like so long ago, though it was only about a week ago when Gibbs said this:

“I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground.

“But let me be clear: as a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan,” he said.

…This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable,”

    Ahhh, I get it now……Obama says no to National Day of Prayer, yes to Ramadan Dinner (at the WH no less) and the Ground Zero mosque. I guess I’m the last American to get it through my thick skull that the Christian nation I grew up in doesn’t exist anymore.

    The radical Islamists have won by $$ and influence what they could never have hoped to accomplish militarily. We’ve become so open-minded that our brains have fallen out, and now who’s stepping into the void?

    God (yes, the REAL one) help us all.

    American Muslims died in the Trade Center, American Muslims died fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, American Muslims pay taxes and work hard. Why would it be respectful for them to not be able build close to the Trade Center? I see no respect in that. Build your mosque praise your lord. I am an American and I will stand with you.

    Im totally shocked (NOT) that some of the state & local dems up for election in my state (florida), are now saying they are not in favor of the mosque. Politicians will say ANYTHING to try to appeal to the voters, and then, like Obuma, will do whatever they are told to do when they get in office. It’s just disgusting.

    Look around what happened to Franklin Grahmm on the dispute by Muslims and him being aked to not come because of the Muslims did not like it
    Franklin Grahm was asked if he would work with Muslims and I believe I heard that he told Greta there was no common ground between Christians and Muslims. They believe in a God that does not reflect America.
    We went to war in Afghanistan initially to avenge the tragadies of 9/11. Same as Iraq if that has changed and the Mosque will be setting by the worst of Islam next to the Twin Towers, Then Why the war we are fighting for the horrific 9/11 issue if it has changed get our kids home. Afghanistan and even Iraq will slowly evolve backwards again. I never hear you, Beck or anyone challenge the notion that Obama is a MUSLIM with all his rhetoric at a very high pitch on how he covers Muslims verses Christaians and Israea. The Isreli PM was stiffed at his White House visit time before last. Are we afraid because of race? I think so and are we afraid of the Muslims; I know so. The congress needs a dramatic changing from the President to all the republicans and Dems. They are the Soviet Union under the pretense of caring about Americans. They adopt horrible bills don’t read them and hire people to do their job of enforcing on our dime. The people in this counry are 90% good but like Jim Jomes, Kerash at Waco we will follow the rules as we go.

    I live in New York. I know the area around Ground Zero well, I was there on 911 as a volunteer. That area 2 blocks from Ground Zero, were they want to build a Mosque, that area is America. America is a free country.
