Eric Holder/Department of Justice sues Sheriff Joe Arpaio

eric-holderAfter freeing up valuable time at the Justice Department by deciding to halt the prosecution of alleged USS Cole bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashir, Eric Holder found someone else much more important worth suing. The U.S. Justice Department began suing Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio today claiming that Arpaio has refused for more than a year to turn over records in an investigation into allegations his department discriminates against Hispanics. The lawsuit calls Arpaio and his office’s defiance “unprecedented,” and said the federal government has been trying since March 2009 to get officials to comply with its probe of alleged discrimination, unconstitutional searches and seizures, and having English-only policies in his jails that “discriminates” against people with limited English skills.

Arpaio had been given until Aug. 17 to hand over documents it first asked for 15 months ago.

Arpaio’s office had said it has fully cooperated in the jail inquiry but won’t hand over additional documents into the examination of the alleged unconstitutional searches because federal authorities haven’t said exactly what they were investigating.

It’s the latest action against Arizona by the federal government, which earlier sued to stop the state’s strict new immigration law that requires police officers to question people about their immigration status.

    I won’t use any profanity, but I do think Sherriff jOE IS AN IDIOT AND FOR ONCE I AGREE WITH THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AND OBAMA. I PRAY TO GOD THAQT SHEIFF JOE NEVER RUNS FOR GOVENOR OR PRESIDENT BECAUSE WE WOULD BECOME THE WORST STATE AND COUNTRY ON THE PLANET. I BET YOU DON’T HAVE THE COURAGE TO POST DIFFERING OPIONS. I WISH THE AMERICAN INDIANS HAD THE WAR AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT BECAUSE THIS COUNTRY WOULD NOW BE A BETTER PLACE AND COUNTRY.

    Amazing! Carol, you are calling Arpaio an idiot and he is the only one upholding the constitution! Holder is not upholding his oath of office and neither is Barry! How dare they sue the state of Arizona and Joe! First, it is not constitutional. Second, there is no racial profiling. Every nation on the planet is securing there borders except us. The federal actions would suggest that Barry hates us and is importing Hamas terrorists to kill Americans. Barry is for global Marxist government! Just keep drinking that coolaid.

    I think you should become more educated and then readers might be able to read your comments. Did your parents ever tell you how to look up words in the dictionary for the correct spelling of english words? For example your comment of “THAQT SHEIFF JOE” well now good for you, Joe is spelled correctly. Other words “OPIONS” definitely shows your ignorance. Yes, the american indians did have a war with us and they lost! Just speaking of american indians in their scientific achievments for warfare and economics, have been here for centuries, but did not achieve zip! The early spaniards brought over the horses and some early English/French sold them guns and alcohol. They never got around to inventing the wheel or the oil lamp. All they had for centuries was the old trusty bow and arrow! Wow!
