$700,000 in stimulus money given to Northwestern University to create computer software that tells jokes
Just think! The Obama regime is reportedly considered another stimulus package to try and save the Democrat’s bacon and create jobs before the November elections. With such worthy and job creating projects such as studying the smell of cow farts, or giving monkys cocaine, one would think that was a pretty good joke right there. Not so fast. $700,000 in stimulus grants has been giving to Northwestern University to develop computer software that tells jokes! (No joke!) ABC 7 in Chicago naturally tries to defend this waste of money.
Professor Kristian Hammond says it’s serious work. But some critics say using stimulus money for this type of research is no laughing matter.
Critics say the project is simply a waste of taxpayer money. But the man behind this next-generation software say those detractors, which include Senator John McCain, have never bothered to call and ask him what his work is all about.
In a building at Northwestern in Evanston, computer sciences professor Kristian Hammond is trying to make computers funny.
I don’t need my computer to be funny. I need it to work, run my applications and occasionally video games. Is this a new progressive type thing that requires computer to be funny?
