Recovery Summer: Unemployment rate spikes to 9.6%
Since Labor Day generally marks the “end of summer”, I guess we can still consider today’s news a part of the Obama and the rest of the Marxistcrats “Recovery Summer” plan. For the first time in four months, despite the labor department’s constant fudging of the numbers, the unemployment rate rose in August from 9.5 percent to 9.6 percent. A total of 54,000 jobs were lost in August. Yet Obama today said “we are moving in the right direction.” I guess that’s why I’ll never understand a progressive liberal Democrat. How is a jump in the unemployment rate, and a loss of 54,000 jobs “moving in the right direction?” According to Fox News, one Republican called the numbers “anemic.” I call it pathetic. But Republicans pointed to the Labor Department report as the latest sign that Obama’s strategy has the economy treading water. I guess next month when more bad unemployment news comes out the first Friday in October, we can call it “Recovery Fall”?
Ground Zero Mosque Investor Hisham Elzanaty was terrorist contributor!
Fox 5 News in New York has reported Thursday that one of the investors in the Ground Zero Mosque project contributed money to a terrorist organization! His name is Hisham Elzanaty and he is Egyptian born businessman. According to Fox 5, Elzanaty gave $6000 to an organization called the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, also known as HLF. He gave the money to the terrorist organization in 1999. Of course, along with the revelation of this, Elzanaty has an excuse. His attorney has told Fox 5 News exclusively that Hisham Elzanaty believed he was making contributions to an “orphanage”. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never confused a terrorist organization with an orphanage.
Washington Senate – Dino Rossi (R) takes lead over flaming progressive liberal Patty Murray
Could the people in Washington state actually be waking up to the disease of progressivism too? The latest Rasmussen poll puts Republican Dino Rossi ahead of Murray by 2 points at 48% to 46%. The poll was a statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state. Three percent (3%) prefer a different candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided. All prior polling done by Rasmussen of Rossie/Murray had Murray ahead by a couple of points. Last month a Survey USA poll had Rossi with a 7 point lead over Murray at 52-45%. That was the first poll to show the Republican Rossi beating Murray.
Eric Holder/Department of Justice sues Sheriff Joe Arpaio
After freeing up valuable time at the Justice Department by deciding to halt the prosecution of alleged USS Cole bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashir, Eric Holder found someone else much more important worth suing. The U.S. Justice Department began suing Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio today claiming that Arpaio has refused for more than a year to turn over records in an investigation into allegations his department discriminates against Hispanics. Uh oh! Another oil rig explodes in the Gulf of Mexico – 80 miles off the coast of Louisiana

Update: According to WWLTV.com, A spokesman for the Coast Guard said 13 people were on the rig when it exploded and 12 have so far been accounted for.
Not again! An oil rig has exploded 80 miles off the coast of Louisiana. According to CNN, 12 people went overboard and one person is missing.
Rescue attempts are underway for at least 12 people, Coast Guard spokesman John Edwards told CNN. 13 people were on board the rig total, Edwards said, noting 12 have been accounted for, but one person was missing.
The accident took place 80 miles off the coast of Louisiana on the Vermilion Oil rig 380, which is owned by Houston-based Mariner Energy.
The Coast Guard has multiple helicopters, an airplane and several Coast Guard cutters en route. It’s unknown if there are any injuries.

We already know Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is a terrorist sympathizer, anti Israel Muslim, said America has more blood on it’s hands then Al-Qaeda, and Osama bin Laden was made in the USA. Now it turns out that Rauf is also an “alleged” slumlord. The New York Post reveals that at buildings in Union City and Palisades Park, where Rauf got tax dollars to renovate low-income apartments, tenants say their gripes about their lousy housing conditions have been ignored.
“Why doesn’t he help the tenants he has before he builds a new place, claiming he wants to help people?” said a disgusted Jamie Barillas, who lives in a Rauf-owned apartment at 2206 Central Ave. in Union City.
“Nothing gets done. We have to go through City Hall to get things done. . . . He doesn’t care about his tenants,” she said.

Left wing nut James Jay Lee shot dead by police
Seems like karma is a real b*tch sometimes and James Jay Lee ended up getting what he deserved in the end. Thankfully all hostages were fine and unharmed. From WTOP:
Montgomery County Police have shot and killed a gunman who held several people hostage in the Discovery Communications building in Silver Spring for nearly four hours Wednesday.
Three people who had been taken hostage are now safe and out of the building, Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger says.
Manger says the suspect was shot at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday.
Manger says an explosive device may have detonated, and the suspect may have brought other devices into the building. Authorities believe there was some smoke and may have heard a popping noise but have not confirmed anything. -+

Lets just pray right now that this situation ends peacefully. In situations like this, politics usually isn’t an issue. But due to the nature of this nutjob’s demand’s sadly politics come in to play. The suspect in this case is an Asian male named James Jay Lee. The Discovery Channel Gunman in Silver Spring, Maryland has posted a “list of demand” which includes such things as Discovery Health-TLC to stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants. This actually sounds a lot like Obama’s Science Czar John Holdren’s ideas. The gunman also demands that all programs promoting War and the technology behind those must cease. He also demands that Discovery Channel find solutions for Global Warming, Automotive pollution, International Trade, factory pollution, and the whole blasted human economy. Find ways so that people don’t build more housing pollution which destroys the environment to make way for more human filth! Find solutions so that people stop breeding as well as stopping using Oil in order to REVERSE Global warming and the destruction of the planet! Does anyone else notice a pattern here?

Obama regime denied AGAIN on offshore drilling ban
U.S. District Court Judge Martin Feldman is probably going to see an audit next year. Why? Because for the second time in months, Feldman denied the the Obama regime’s request to throw out a suit challenging the drilling halt that had been filed by offshore-oil-service companies. According to the Wall Street Journal, Justice Department lawyers had argued the lawsuit was moot because the Interior Department imposed a new, temporary drilling ban on July 12, replacing a May 28 order that Judge Feldman had struck down in June. Judge Feldman exposed Obama regime Interior Secretary Ken Salazar in the process. Feldman says, Salazar appeared to have relied heavily on documents and data that he had at the time of the first moratorium order.
