Progressive liberal Blake Chisam says there is no evidence of corruption by Charlie Rangel

charlie-rangelOIC. Everything is perfectly clear now on Chuckles Rangel’s corruption charges. He was simply “sloppy” in his personal finances says progressive liberal Blake Chisam. Who is this guy? Blake Chisam was once staffer for progressive liberal  Zoe Lundgren before he was named to be the top ethic committee lawyer. Surely if you or I were as “sloppy” with our personal finances as Charlie Rangel, we wouldn’t end up in jail or anything like that, would we? I suppose this means that Bernie Madoff was just “sloppy” too?

“It’s hard to answer the question of personal financial benefit,” Chisam added. ” I think the short answer is probably no. Do I believe that based on the record that Congressman Rangel took steps to benefit himself based on his position in Congress? No. I believe that the congressman, quite frankly, was overzealous in many of the things he did. And sloppy in his personal finances.”

Where is the IRS and DOJ? They will come forward to arrest, have a trial, and imprison the aging 80 year old who is corrupt as ever. We know it, they know it, and Charlie knows it. End of story.

The american public is not aware of the fact that Reed Irvine started the so-called Liberal bias. You Neo-Liberals complain how you hate “Liberals” and yet you love Liberal economic policies that provide all the protection for the corporations, including the Media, the Corporate biased Media. You seem to hate social, political Liberalism. I blame the Democrats for selling out the soul of the New Deal,Great Society programs. Shame on the Democrats. We can just rely on the UN biased views of AIM. Accuracy in Media, founded by Reed Irvine, to present a fair and balanced reporting. After all Neo-Liberals are not biased in any way shape or form. how come Rangel did not have any legal representation? Sincerely( Un Biased Social,Political Liberal.) Milton freidman

Daniel the reason Rangel no longer had legal representation is that he stated he did not have the cash to pay them and acceptance of pro bono work is considered a violation of ethic rules.

What this article fails to state is that Rangel used over approximately $293,000 from his PAC fund to pay his main defense attorneys and an additional $100,000 to pay for another attorney. Use of PAC funds to pay for personal or professional expenses is yet another breach of the congressional ethics rules. Rangel spent an additional $1,821,880 dollars on attorney fees in 2009 and 2010 of which $1.4 million of that amount came from his campaign coffers.

How Chisam can publicly state that Rangel was just “sloppy” in his personal finances is beyond comprehension. Rangel has not only been found guilty of 11 ethics violations but then went on to be guilty of an additional violation by using PAC funds to pay for his legal defense.

What angers me most is that there is a possibility that he will continue to serve and have a voice/vote on bills that will affect all of us. If this man had any morals or ethics he would publicly apologize to the American citizens and leave his elected position, giving up all benefits he would be entitled to. He should never have been allowed to make a deal with the IRS that exempted him from paying interest and penalties on the back taxes he owed. Had Rangel been a blue collar, middle class American the IRS would have placed liens on property, garnished wages, taken assets and charged him with tax evasion, embezzlement and any other charge they could think of.

I am watching to see if he will be brought up on charges on the misuse of PAC funds. If he is not then I can’t help but think that the Ethics Committee is not only biased but corrupt as well. If Rangel is not forced to give up his position then this will provide more proof that there is a complete different set of standards for politicians and white collared criminals. Rep. Rangel is a disgrace to our country.
