CNN – 48 percent of those polled think a Great Depression is coming within a year
There was an article at CNBC on June 1st that claimed that we are headed for another “Great Depression” and the FED knows it. I’m just not one of those in that boat. Double dip recession certainly, but a great depression seems a bit “extreme” for me. But it the CNBC report may not be as as far fetched as I think it is. According to the latest CNN poll, 48% of Americans polled actually think that a second great depression is coming within in the next 12 months. Oh and BTW, Obama’s Osama approval rating bounce is gone in that poll too.
President Barack Obama’s overall approval rating has dropped below 50 percent as a growing number of Americans worry that the U.S. is likely to slip into another Great Depression within the next 12 months, according to a new national poll.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday also indicate that the economy overall remains issue number one to voters, with other economic issues – unemployment, gas prices and the federal deficit – taking three of the remaining four spots in the top five.
Forty-eight percent of people questioned say they approve of how the president is handling his duties in the White House, down six points from late May. An equal 48 percent say they disapprove of how Obama’s performing, up three points from late last month.
The poll indicates a slight deterioration among Democrats and independent voters, with the president’s approval rating among Democrats down three points to 82 percent and down five points among independents to 42 percent.

This district is rated as Republican+14 by the Cook PVI index. This seat is almost a shoe in to got Republican in the 2012 election. Boren is only 37 so this seems a bit odd. Usually these congress critters no matter what party they are in stay into their 80s or 90s before they leave. Forgive me, I have never heard of Chris Titus before today. I don’t know if he is some sort of “mainstream” idiot comedian or not. This Survey USA poll was conducted with people in New York City, , not just Anthony Weiner’s district. The poll was requested by WABC-TV in New York and asked adults in New York City if Anthony Weiner should remain in office or resign. It would have been logical to assume that a vast majority of people would have said yes that Weiner should resign. Not just because of his infidelity, but the possibility (though not proven) that some of his sexting messages went to under aged girls, and the face he lied for over a week claiming he was hacked. But again, this is New York City, a progressive liberal sh*thole, so there are no standards. Only 46% of those polled want Weiner out of office, while a staggering 41% actually think he should remain in office.
