Wyoming Republican Caucus – February 29, 2012
The Wyoming caucuses snuck up on me. I was under the assumption checking the various GOP primary and caucus sites that the Wyoming caucuses where to be held between March 6th and March 10th of 2012. Turns out it they were held between February 11 and 29, 2012, and the final results were available after Mitt Romney won the Michigan and Arizona primaries a day earlier. This Wyoming caucus only had a total of 2,108 votes, with Mitt Romney winning with 822 votes. Rick Santorum came in second (as he did in Michigan and Arizona), and Ron Paul came in third. Newt Gingrich, banking on his southern strategy beginning on Super Tuesday of March 6th was last, getting only two delegates. None of the delegate allocation from this caucus is binding.
