Mitt Romney “severely” wins CPAC 2012 straw poll

mitt-romneyWith Ron Paul not appear at this year’s CPAC, his drones didn’t flood the straw poll like in previous years. This year Romney wins the CPAC 2012 straw poll beating Rick Santorum 38% to 31%. Ron Paul had his minions flood the straw poll the past two years when he spoke there and won those two. Prior to that Romney won three straight CPAC straw polls. Newt Gingrich was third with 15% of the vote and Ron Paul brought up the rear with 12%. Romney got 1295 votes, Rick Santorum got 1056 votes, Newt Gingrich got  511 votes and Ron Paul got  409 votes.

I don’t know why got Romney to 38%. He didn’t do or say anything of significance in his speech at CPAC 2012. Maybe the 38% liked his “severely conservative” mantra or something.
