Rick Santorum now second in Gallup’s national GOP poll behind Romney

rick-santorumNewt Gingrich was either the leader, or second place to Mitt Romney in the Gallup National GOP polls since December. But since Gingrich seems to be almost taking February off and not bothering with the states that most figured would go to Romney (before this past Tuesday), Gingrich has slipped in the polls. Rick Sanotrum is now up to 24% of the national GOP vote behind Mitt Romney’s 34% (as of today.) Newt Gingrich has slipped to 17% and Ron Paul stands at just 8%.

As far as head to head match ups against the Marxist in Chief, Romney is tied with Obama at 48% and Gingrich gets slaughtered by Obama at 53% to 41%. They haven’t bothered win any Obama-Santorum head to head match ups, but I’ll assume they will be forced to soon.
