ARG Michigan Republican Primary – Santorum 33% Romney 27% Gingrich 21%

rick-santorumWillard Mitt Romney losing in his birth state of Michigan? According to the latest American Research Group poll, it may happen. The Michigan primary is on February 28th (as is Arizona’s.) The latest ARG poll puts Rick Santorum ahead of Willard Mitt Romney by six points at 33% to 27%. If you think this number is bad for Romney with among self-identified Republicans by 18 points at 42% to 24%. Romney does far better with independents. Michigan is a closed primary, so independents and Democrats wouldn’t be able to vote for the Republican candidate.

Santorum leads Romney with Tea Party voters by 20 points, and leads him with the male vote by 5 points. Romney beats Santorum with the female vote.
