Anyone who watched the CNN debate tonight has to wonder if Mittens and Ron Paul have cut some sort of deal. They both ganged up on Santorum and Gingrich, and Paul didn’t seem to lay a finger on Romney. So this article at the Daily Caller where they posted about a WFPL story asking Rand Paul if he would consider being Romney’s running mate (if he gets the GOP nomination) may make a little more sense. NBC/MSNBC hack Chuck Todd is into the whole conspiracy theory thing too wondering “Just what has Romney promised Ron Paul.” Mittens is everything that Rand Paul campaigned against in 2010. Big government, RINOs, etc. Yet when asked by WFPL, Rand Paul said he would be “honored” to be Romney running mate/vice president. Hmm.
“I don’t know if I can answer that question, but I can say it would be an honor to be considered,” he said.
Romney of course would need a strong conservative running mate if he gets the nominee. Rand Paul is about as good as it gets, but Mittens and Rand Paul seems like oil and water to me.
