Yesterday, when the video came out of Tonya Dixon-Neely yelling at high school students at North Rowan High School for daring to question Obama after the topic of Mitt Romney’s 1965 “hair cutting” incident came up, we didn’t know much about the teacher. It turns out Tonya Dixon-Neely (the teacher yelling at the students) is Social Studies teacher at North Rowan High. The WBTV story has two spellings for the name of the Obama licking teacher. It’s either Tanya Dixon-Neely or Tonya Dixon-Neely After the video of her yelling went viral on the Internet, school officials decided to suspend Dixon-Neely WITH pay. Yea, that’ll show her! In case you missed the video, here it is again. The teacher wants those who criticize Obama to be put in jail. Screw the freedom of speech!
“Effective today, Tanya Dixon-Neely has been suspended with pay while a thorough investigation is being conducted,” school officials told WBTV when asked about Dixon-Neely’s status.
The link to the video first showed up at WBTV on Tuesday of last week.
It came from a man who said he was a former teacher in the Rowan Salisbury School System. He claimed that a student inside a classroom at North Rowan High School was being verbally abused in a debate over President Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
“This video is circulating the internet. It is about a North Rowan High School social studies teacher that is verbally abusing a student regarding a question about the President and Mitt Romney,” he told WBTV in his email.
