Democrat running to replace retiring Heath Shuler in North Carolina’s 11th district wouldn’t attend DNC convention or endorse Obama

obama2Looks like we have another seat in North Carolina that’s going to flip from Democrat to Republican come November. All this talk about North Carolina being such a toss up state is really starting to make no sense at all. Democrat Hayden Rogers who is running to replace Shuler as representative for North Carolina’s 11th district has come out and announced that he will NOT attend the DNC conference (in his home state in September) and will not endorse the failure Obama. Rogers now becomes the third Democrat running for Congress in North Carolina to refuse to attend the convention, and endorse Obama. If Obama is this toxic in North Carolina, how is this state even considered a toss up? Yes, the ‘retiring’ Heath Shuler is known as one of the biggest busts in NFL draft history. This is the same Heath Shuler who was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 1994 and is ‘retiring’ from Congress at a ripe old age of 41.

Earlier today, news broke that North Carolina congressman Larry Kissell is refusing to endorse President Obama and might not attend the Democratic convention later this year in Charlotte, N.C. And now, there’s word that Rep. Hayden Rogers won’t be endorsing Obama or even attending the convention.
