Obama shows up at Iowa State Fair, Secret Service shuts down all local small business vendors

obamas_fly_2Now let me see if I can get this straight. Both Obama/Biden and Romney/Ryan have Secret Service protection. Paul Ryan spoke earlier at the Iowa State Fair, and got rushed by at least two leftist nutjobs. One of which reportedly punched a Romney volunteer. The Secret Service assigned to Paul Ryan did nothing. Obama decides to make an ‘unannounced’ trip to the Iowa State Fair and the Secret Service shuts down all local small business vendors, depriving them of the revenue they needed. Does this make sense to you? Doesn’t me to.

    It wasn’t only the Fair, The President’s first stop plugged up Downtown Council Bluffs,IA today too;and inconvenienced and closed dozens of businesses.

    Five hours after POTUS left,streets and sidewalks in front of businesses were still blocked by semi trailers,trucks and fencing as men worked to remove risers, fences. tents, awnings used by the event. (As mentioned by this lovely reporter at 5 pm.) http://www.wowt.com/home/headlines/Obama-Campaigns-In-Council-Bluffs-165997146.html Secret service, State, local, and other law enforcement had a huge job securing the buildings and streets for Obama’s visit. SS has been in town since at least Friday setting this all up.
    In contrast, a Bush 2004 re-election campaign stop here was held at Mid America Center (a large auditorium). It is in an area much easier to access, and less disruptive to secure..

    Maybe because Obama is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA while Ryan is still a vice presidential candidate? Besides, the Obama SS thing is standard procedure for any sitting President, it doesn’t apply exclusively to Obama.
